Hours and hours of fun!
This is SO adorable! I bought it for my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas and couldn't wait to give it to her, so she opened it one week early. She was so excited even though she had never seen it before. She spent 2 solid hours playing with it before BRIEFLY coloring and then moved back to it. She really enjoys asking me "What kind of ice cream do you want?". The entire toy is super quality and one of the reasons why I frequently look for Melissa and Doug toys. I love that there is an educational aspect to it. The "menu" shows options which make for thinking and interacting. The child looks at the menu, decides on the type of cone, topppings, etc that they want to make. There are 5, one dollar bills included which add to the fun and learning. Though this toy is expensive, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking for it to go on sale and purchase it. It will be an heirloom to pass down for sure!

Adorable - Durable - Fantastic Play Set
This has got to be one of my favorite Melissa and Doug toys. We own many of them, and big sister picked this for a little sister this Christmas. There may have been some ulterior motives there. However I’m very satisfied with this toy. We absolutely love it! In fact, I have to put it away every day. It has a wooden case so pick-up is quick and easy. My girls love playing with each other, and there are enough pieces that there aren’t any battles. All of the pieces link together. No magnets, It’s simply a peg system that allows the scoop to pick up the ice cream and then a hole in the top to hold the toppings. We have other Melissa and Doug ice cream sets, this is by far our favorite. I can’t say enough good things about this adorable product. I recommend you purchase it for your little kitchen helpers. I love that it comes with cones, a cup, different varieties of ice cream and lots of toppings. The little menu also helps us with our math lessons on occasion. A+ toy! Definitely worth the money!

This gift turned out to be way more than I ever expected.
Wow. I bought this because my 3 year old granddaughter picked it out in a promotional magazine. She loves to shop and then expects grandma to buy... So I bought it because it's not that expensive and gave it to her as a gift. She was thrilled! But what thrilled me is that her mom leaves it out in the living room because the little one plays with it CONSTANTLY! I can't believe it but, 6 months later, she still loves it and plays with it as much as when it was new. Everyone gets a daily cone. Visitors must order what they want. And she still plays with it on her own. Plus, we all pay with the cash. She tells us how much we owe - $1 for each scoop plus $1 for a topping. She figures the cost on her own and knows when she's been given the correct amount. This gift turned out to be a way better purchase than I ever expected it to be.

Awesome Ice cream stand!
This is the cutest toy! After 4 kids we've had too many toys, and I'm surprised at how entertaining an ice cream stand can be for both kids and adults. The scoop really works to pick up the scoops of ice cream and place them in the cones or cup. There is a generous amount of ice cream flavors and toppings, and the little spoon, menu and stand itself are way too cute. This is one of the few toys that I can honestly say is fun for all of my kids, ages 7 months - almost 7 years old. Perfect for boys and girls and worth every penny.

He is lover of all things sweet like most kids
This was a really unique toy and definitely worth it for my son's 4th birthday. He is lover of all things sweet like most kids, and loves imaginative play. We own many Melissa & Doug toys and they just can't be beat for quality and design. Love that the scooper actually picks up the pieces. There's a variety of flavors and toppings and they all stick to each other. Also love the cup or cone choices and little tongs. Everything is organized together really neatly and compactly - I'm a nut about losing pieces so we always make sure everything is put back in the organized compartments and slots! The menu is really cute and helps my son remember the flavors and toppings and encourages social interaction and imgination. We use this in conjunction with our kids cash register and have a blast serving up ice cream! My 2 year old loves it as well!

Perfect, no other words!
I cannot say enough good things about this product! It is perfect. The quality is top notch. Each of the pieces is perfectly shaped and fits well into each other to stack easily and, surprisingly, sturdy as well. The little menu is high quality and even allows you to write with dry erase markers to select items. My children have so much fun playing store with this. This is easily hours of fun for kiddos who like to engage in pretend play. The set even comes with a little taster spoon and lots of cute toppings. It also includes pretend money that is not cheaply made, withstands the test of a two year old! I would recommend this product for sure. So cute, even parents will want to try!

Melissa and Doug's Finest
I purchased this gift for my children, ages 4 and 2.75 for Christmas and it is easily one of their most played with toys of all time. We originally owned the smaller set (Melissa & Doug Scoop and Stack Ice Cream Cone Magnetic Pretend Play Set) which contained 4 larger, magnetic, plastic, textured scoops. My children loved them and played with them daily. I thought that this set was identical, just with more pieces, which is incorrect. The magnetic set has larger ice creams that attach to the scoop and cone with magnets holding them in place. The ice cream scoops have texture and are pleasant to hold in little hands. This set operates with dowels. The ice cream scoops have little dowels that come out of the bottom and fit into the stand, cone, other ice cream scoops for stacking. The scooper isn't as fun to use because pushing the release button doesn't always work well and getting the scooper into the stand requires agility most toddlers don't have. It also comes with a set of tongs that are equally useless, but my children were very content to just use their hands. The scoops are wooden (unlike the magnetic set), and also comes with a bowl. The case is wood with a plastic "glass" front (so you can only use it from one side). It has two holes in the side for easy lifting. My 2.75 year old can lift it and transport it with some effort. She's even brought it up and down stairs without help. The pieces are large enough that if they go missing, they turn up easily in a few hours. Each scoop is painted sweetly, with little flecks of chocolate, or nuts, but it is flat and not textured. The toppings are a pliable plastic, with textures and grip nicely to the scoops. My children love the menu (which works well with dry erase markers) for making orders. Not only has this toy produced lots of laughs, but there's some beginner math, language, and social skills that are challenged with it. If I had to offer a criticism, I'd say that I prefer the magnetic system to the dowels. Aesthetically, they look nicer, stack easier, and made scooping them more fun. However, I much prefer the wooden scoops over the plastic, which probably makes the magnetic system ineffective. This is definitely one of our favorite toys we've ever owned and I'm thankful to have purchased it this year. I hope to get a couple more years of use out of it. (Note: the sugar packet in the picture is from Melissa and Doug's coffee set, and not this toy. Whoops!)

but it was easily replaced by Amazon
The first set I got had broken wood on the frame, but it was easily replaced by Amazon. My kids absolutely love this toy. We use it in conjunction with the lemonade stand/grocery store from Melissa and Doug and pretend that it's an ice cream parlor. There is a lot of pretend play potential here and my kids use this all the time. My baby also loves to stack the ice cream scoops onto the cone and then to put them back in the wooden box. This is fun for a lot of different ages.

OLD VS NEW comparison between the two versions
In case you wanted a comparison between the older and new version, here goes! -The old set is bigger. -Old set is NOT compatible with new set. The cones don't fit in the new holder; the ice creams won't stay on new & vice versa. -New set stays on MUCH better. The new ice creams have holes & the scoop has a part that wedges into it nicely. It's very easy for little ones to push the button and release the ice cream into the cone. -Old set uses magnets and the ice creams fall off easily. This didn't bother my kids before but now that they have the new ones they don't touch the old set. -Larger selections with new set: 8 ice cream flavors NEW vs 4 OLD; 2 cones + 1 cup NEW vs 2 cones old ; 6 toppings NEW vs 0 toppings old: PLUS NEW has a spoon, counter & menu vs OLD has carton. All in all I'd choose the new one over the old hands down. It's definitely worth the price! And my kids play with it daily! CONS: I am constantly craving ice cream 😂🍦😋

Buy this. Seriously. It's a great set!!
This is a fantastic play set! Our two (and a half) year old loves it, and so do we. Super-cute and fun - comes with a menu and play money too, so it's even educational! The little details are awesome. There's a sneeze-guard, a little spoon, two kinds of cones, and all the pieces store neatly in the ice cream counter itself. By far the most fun and least annoying toy that we have in the house. :)
