Love this Fitbit Alta!
I love this Fitbit! A year ago I had a Fitbit Charge HR which I really liked but the band/buckle left such a rash on my skin that I couldn't wear it. And then it actually fell apart - the back fell off so you couldn't charge it. But this one is great! It is thin and stylist on my wrist. The interchangeable bands are awesome. Right now I only have two but I plan to get more to accessorize my outfits. Although this Fitbit does not track your heart rate I haven't missed that option too much. I absolutely love how it buzzes me at 10 minutes to the hour to tell me I haven't gotten my 250 steps in. It's my personal goal to get in my 12 hours of 250 steps/hour and I am disappointed when I don't get it! The feature where it automatically tracks the type of exercise you do is great as well. I can't complain too much about tapping on the bottom of the device to get the time etc... you just have to know the spot to hit. You can also just raise your hand and the time will come up - something that happens all the time at night when I turn over when sleeping. It doesn't keep me from falling asleep because it only briefly lights up. You can input the amount of water you drink per day plus add in food which I don't do because I find it too time consuming. I like that it tracks my sleep and it's fairly accurate except when I'm sitting motionless watching tv and it thinks I have gone to sleep at 8:30 at night. I have had no issues with the band irritating my skin either. I do love the feature that lets you know when a text or phone call is coming thru. Although the text message is not complete, at least you are aware there is one and can get to your phone to see it. The same with the phone call - you can't answer it on the Fitbit but you are aware you missed a call and can go get your phone if it is not with you already. Overall I really love this Fitbit - it does everything I need it to do and inspires me to get those steps in everyday. I would highly recommend this product.

This Gadget Is Helping Me Reach All My Health Goals
I was skeptical that any gadget I wear on my wrist could get me to form better health habits. Could a tiny arm buzzer really make that much difference? After all, I already have a phone that can track my steps and log food intake, and it has an alarm on it, so why would I want one of these? I'll tell you why: 1. The silent vibration notification that it's time to be active really is more motivating than turning off an alarm on my phone. I don't know the why, I just know the how. Once I've gotten my steps in, the Alta buzzes again to let me know I've reached my goal, and to cheer me on. 2. I love that my phone notifications will go straight to my Alta. It only works within a certain distance - I think 20 feet - but I've found that that's usually plenty. If I put my phone in my purse, coat pocket, or at my desk and then walk away for a moment, not only do I know I'm missing a call or text, but I know who it's from. It's pretty awesome, and it's come in handy. 3. I didn't know how I'd feel about the vibrating alarms, but it's much less jarring to wake up to a vibration on my wrist than the sound of just about any alarm. And I can set the alarm notification to whatever times I want. 4. The app is kind of amazing. I was disappointed that I had to enter food separately (I use My Fitness Pal for that), but the two apps sync well and if I enter food only into My Fitness Pal it automatically enters the calories into my Alta app. Alta also helps track water intake, exercise, sleep patterns, weight, and more. I'm impressed with how much data it has helped to centralize into one app. 5. I've used other apps that encourage you to compete with friends - and hated all of them. But somehow this one is fun and encouraging instead of making you feel like crap about yourself. 6. I can honestly say that in the few weeks I've had my Alta, I've made significant progress toward every one of my health goals - nutrition, water intake, sleep patterns, and weight. And that's the best review I can give for this little gadget. I've since purchased an inexpensive band replacement so it looks more feminine and dressy, and a screen protector. I recommend both.

SO THANKFUL.
I don't think this little thing needs more reviews but I am so thankful I ordered this. I didn't know what it would do for me, but it definitely does hold you accountable! it's literally the only thing that has worked for me. Ever. I lost 11 pounds in two weeks JUST by keeping with my stepping goal which is 10K a day. I do more but no less and this little thing definitely got me off the couch. I cannot stress enough that from someone who battled addiction and gained about 100 pounds and was super unmotivated that I went straight into doing cardio all because of this little buddy. I started at little by little and actually hiked a few miles the second week! That's huge for me! I'm plus sized and the small fit! I didn't want to order a bigger one because that was also a motivator. It does so well, you won't need all the bells and whistles. Enjoy it!

Excellent Motivational Tool !
I love my Fitbit! I am getting ready to have bariatric surgery and this Fitbit has been a valuable tool in my weight loss journey. I connected it to my iPad to the Fitbit ap and have been amazed at how easy it has made it for me to track my liquid intake, and especially my food intake. There is an amazing amount of food product information stored and searchable in the database and it's incredibly easy to adjust the quantitys in many forms (example: ounces, pounds, packages etc) and with a touch or two I have a complete food journal that remembers favorites, and even combinations of foods like cereal and milk. The sleep tracker is an awesome feature that was eye opening, no pun intended. It tells you how many hours you have been asleep, periods of restlessness, and times awake. There are customizable goal setters for all the features, and the Fitbit cheers you on, offers tips to meet your goals, and communities you can connect with online if you choose. It even has a little party when you hit your step goal! The fitbit gently reminds you to get up and walk and has a step goal feature that you set for yourself, with a step.and exercise tracker. You can set alarms, as well.as pair it with your phone , although I don't use it for text messages, or phone functions. It also tells you the calories you have burned and has a weight tracker that can be paired with a smart scale or you can enter your weight independently yourself. This model has a slim profile and has a face that is on scale with a lady's watch. I bought several different bands and it even easy to switch the band's out. I looked at the fit it that has the heart rate tracker but sent it back because the face on that one was large like a man's watch. I really love this Fitbit.Best investment that I've made for myself in a long time. If I was forced to list a drawback, it would be with the stock band. While the band is very adjustable and easy to put on, it is not very breathable or very fashionable. The way it clasps is kind of uncomfortable because it's like the back of a baseball cap, with two pegs that you snap through the holes on the other side. It's not horrible, but I opted to buy replacement bands. The replacement bands were affordable and came in a staggering variety of styles from hundreds of companies. There's styles for every taste. It's very easy to swap the band out in a matter of seconds.

Alta- maaaazing
Arrived today. I had downloaded the app to have it all ready to go. Set up and syncing were easy, it does take a couple minutes for it all to be updated, But is all relatively easy. I had to practice the right "tap tap" to get the screen on when I want to check my stats.. But whatever. I have it synced with my phone so it vibrates every time I get a text, so I'll probably be turning that off. But other wise it's great and I can't wait to start tracking my activity! Woohoo!

How did I function without my Alta?!
I've only had my Alta a few days but I absolutely love it!! I've had a Flex for a couple years now and finally wore it out last week. My husband has had a Charge since they came out and I really liked all the features he had, but I'm small and didn't want somethings that big for myself. The Alta is perfect- it's not ginormous and is really pretty cute! I love that I can see my calls and texts on top of all the regular display items- plus the reminders to get off my tush and move- AWESOME!! I could not be happier!

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!
About three months ago I lost my Fit Bit tracker. It fell off of my wrist during the day and there was no way for me to trace my steps back to where it was disconnected. I thought about replacing it but just had not gotten around to it until an email arrived in my inbox just two weeks ago. It was from Fitbit Customer Service stating that a Good Samaritan (Thank you whoever you are!) had turned in a lost wristband and that they had traced it back to me. I was a bit concerned that it was a scam email since they were asking for my mailing address so I called Customer Service directly. Sure enough, someone had turned it in and Fitbit was planning to mail it back to me at no cost! The representative sent me a link to their secure site and once I clicked inside, I discovered that they were not just planning to ship my old tracker back, they were offering me the opportunity to purchase any of their watches for half-off or to have a new version of my exact model sent for free. I was incredibly impressed that they took the time to find me in the first place but then to provide such a generous offer was really beyond on my expectations. I placed my order and I am proudly sporting my new tracker. I am very happy to be reconnected and I will absolutely recommend Fitbit to anyone!

Best buy ever!
They say you get what you pay for. True! After spending time and money on cheap chinese lookalikes, I decided to go for the name brand. You get a great product and it works as expected so I am soooo satisfied! Love the Alta! I did not need a heartrate monitor, otherwise I'd have gotten the HR Alta. Even so, it's a very nice, smoothly operating tracker and I recommend the brand highly!

Did I say I loved it?!
Love it, love it, love it! This little fitness tracker is perfect for me! I love the size and the fact that it serves as a watch as well as a fitness tracker while being slim and attractive. The features are great and the companion app for your smartphone is very nice and well done too. And something that I really love is that it still tracks my steps when I'm mowing the lawn and have my hands resting on the handlebar! My Asus Zenwatch did not do that. The reminders you can set to prompt you to get up and move are great and you can set them on the schedule you want. I like the little flower that grows as you walk and I find that motivating to keep moving so that it will "bloom." As for the band, yes, when I first received my Alta I had a bit of a time getting the band closed. I worked with the band while it was not on my wrist and pushed the pins in and out where I wanted them to be when I wore the device and the holes became less stiff and the pins got easier to insert. I still find that the original rubber band that came with my Alta is a little harder to put on than the leather band I bought for it. I purchased the leather band made by FitBit for the Alta and it is very nice and definitely easier to put on. I use the original rubber band for working around the house or outdoor activities and the leather band for the office and going out. The Alta looks great with a bracelet or two on your wrist as well because it is so slim. This fitness tracker does exactly what I wanted in a fitness band, no more / no less, and it's perfect for me. I also really find the sleep tracking amazingly accurate and it's very interesting to be able to analyze how well you slept. Whether or not it would be perfect for you is highly subjective, but I'm more than satisfied with my Alta!

Love seeing my accurate health results!
his is the first Fitbit model that has really caught my eye. The Flex didn't have enough features for me, and the Charge, Blaze, etc, looked way too large on my small wrists. I can appreciate that they combined the screen functionality of the more advanced models with the simplicity of the Flex. Changing out the band is really easy to do, and there are lots of third-party bands to choose from if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for a Fitbit official one. I've ordered a metal bangle to class up the look a bit for formal occasions, but the original blue band is very nice also, I've received several compliments on it. To address some common concerns, yes I had trouble getting the clasp to work. The rubber is a bit stiff initially, but after a few times the rubber and my hands are familiar with the motion and it now clasps on with ease. On one occasion the band became unclasped and I nearly dropped it, but the sensation of it becoming unclasped was very noticeable and I was able to catch it in time. I'm not sure why this happened, but it hasn't happened again. The screen sensitivity is what I would consider "good", it requires moderate pressure directly on or directly below the screen. Once you've toggled the screen on, I think it requires slightly less pressure to switch to the next stat. At the time of writing (9/20/2016), there is a bug with the stat display. If you modify the stats displayed, you won't get the 10k step notification/vibration. They're currently working on a fix for this problem from what I understand. This is my biggest gripe with the product so far, but it's something that can be fixed so it's just a matter of waiting. I have some trouble using the tilt motion to get the screen to activate. I think I activate it more unintentionally than intentionally. It doesn't bother me too much. Both in appearance and tracking, the Alta is highly configurable. The app allows you to track multiple devices, if you want. I like that it includes several health aspects for tracking such as: exercise, steps, distance, calories, water, weight and sleep. The Alta does NOT track heart rate or flights of stairs/elevation like some of the other Fitbit models do. This is also slightly disappointing, but the trade off for those features is a larger sized device. My company has a wellness program that I can hook up my Fitbit to in order to receive rewards, this is a new movement that I've seen several companies starting to move towards to encourage healthy lifestyles. If that wasn't a good enough motivation, Fitbit also allows you compete with family and friends. Just he process of logging/tracking motivates me, I'm a list maker and the Fitbit app feels like a checklist that I have to work on. I can say with certainty that I am more active since receiving my Fitbit. It really puts into perspective how much time you spend moving/stationary every day.
