Works great. My old kitchen Sink Basket Strainer was leeting the water run out all the time. I think the rubber at the bottom part of the strainer had gotten old and cracked. This Everflow Strainer seals perfectly, and when you want to break the seal the strainer strains out all the large particles from washing pots and pans, dishes etc.

Works great in our 20 year old sink
Our kitchen sink strainer basket could no longer hold water, so we decided to give this one a try. Turns out that it fit perfectly and works great. It appears to be constructed of fairly thin metal. I originally thought it was made out of plastic until a magnet stuck to it. I almost took away one star because of its lightweight construction; but, it works so well that I'm happy with it.

Worth a try.
I only tried this really quickly to see if it kept water in the sink and it did. That’s the only reason I got this. It was inexpensive and arrived on time. I don’t use sink plugs a lot but our house didn’t have one and I know they are helpful when needed. It is very light (I expected it to be heavier) so I’m not sure what it’s made out of but I guess as long as it does what it is supposed to then it doesn’t matter, and as long as it is made out of safe materials (which I honestly don’t know but I hope it is.)

Wish I had bought this years ago!
EverFlow 75111 Kitchen Sink Basket Strainer Replacement for Standard Drains (3-1/2 Inch) Chrome Plated Stainless Steel Body With Rubber Stopper Bought this to replace the stopper that came with our sink - it was one with the post you push in to close the drain, but it was so difficult to pull out after it was sealed! The Ever Flow 75111 is a simpler design, and works beautifully. It seals well and easily: just turn the post so the bottom aligns with the opening in the drain and slides down, engaging the seal.

It stops water like it is supposed to!
This does exactly what it's supposed to do. It stops the water. I cannot say it is easy to clean because of the hose and you need to actually put some effort into getting food out of the holes by using a dishwasher brush or taking a wet paper towel and manually removing the food from the strainer. But it does stop water from going down the drain so far. I just started using it last night so I cannot say how long it will last. It is fairly lightweight. It does not seem heavy duty. but it is doing the job. It is very silver. I hope it maintains the nice silver shine. But again, I do not know how long that will last either.

Simple but effective
It works the way it is intended. It has a metal strainer on it, but the middle part is painted silver but it is plastic. The part that holds the rubber stopper down is plastic, and the handle used to pick it up is plastic- but painted a silver metal color. I am afraid over time, it might break because it moves easily when pressure is applied to it. The rubber stopper on the bottom does a good job keeping water in the sink, but it is a hollow rubber stopper, which means it will crack and could rip over time. It is hollow on the inside, and it easily bent as well. I could also see food or mold getting stuck under it, because it can't be cleaned out under it where it is open. Overall, it does it a good job, and for the price, I would buy it again and recommend it.

This does an okay job. It’s very easy to clean out and does a great job catching food bits from going down the drain. You’re supposed to put it in the drain to act as a strainer but rotate it to drop down the plunger if you want to plug the sink from draining. I find that even if I don’t have it rotated to plug, it somehow keeps shifting and ending up doing that on its own. So I have to keep reaching into inches of water to drain the sink. This could be user error but I’ve messed with it a lot and I don’t see what I’m doing wrong, so. Overall still a useful product though.

Great product
I don't know why these get negative reviews at all. My previous stoppers that came with the sink deteriorated in the rubber, the metal pieces disconnected, and fell apart. We weren't able to stop the water from seeping out when we filled the sinks with water. I got two for my double sink, which I use several times daily to wash dishes; as we don't have a dishwasher. For some reason we couldn't find these anywhere else - not at Home Depot, not at Lowes, and not at Walmart. These are high quality, and are easy to stop the flow of water and open back up. The food traps are easy to clean, and they look nice in the sink.

Works great!
I know a sink strainer/stopper won't get a lot of people excited. But I been looking for one that works well since my original one fell apart. I bought several types before this one, and they were all okay, but all had problems. Mainly they'd drain when I needed a stopper or stopped flow when I needed a drain. I happened across this one, and gave it a try. I'm glad I did, it works perfectly so far, and is doing the job it's made for.

great product
Just what I was looking for. Fits drain perfectly and does the job. So glad I could find the ones that fit our kitchen sink,, Not as heavy as they used to make them, but hey as long as it does the job.
