Love the temperature sensing remote and the fact that it's ...
I've only had this unit for a few days, and will update it in a few months- but I must say, it cools down my 520 sq. foot apartment in just a few minutes! Love the temperature sensing remote and the fact that it's an energy star model. It's very powerful, and it is a bit louder than I thought but as long as it does the job I am happy! I just wish the low setting was a bit lower! If you want to be ice cold, order this unit!

That's some Fridid-air right there!!!
I could not have been happier to see this AC unit show up a day early!!! The installation was very simple and I had only installed one other window unit before in my life. I have a fairly large living room with two front facing windows in which the unit sits. So far the air has blown cold and the multiple features and remote make this super easy to use and it even has an automatic shutoff function when the room gets to the correct temperature. With such a hot summer down here in South Carolina, I was skeptical about how this would perform. I usually have my central unit set on 73 and this window unit I keep between 69-70 for the same feel. I have decided to put a few more of these in the house instead of having my central unit repaired for now.

WORTH IT!
Works great! Nice and compact, the remote is awesome too. The noise level is way better than the older unit I use in my living room. Worth every penny.

Excellent for older NYC Apartments - Plus High SEER!
I moved into a new apartment and gave my old 5000 BTU air conditioner away when it continued to fail to cool the space - too small a unit for the heat load. The building is over 50 years old, so that's to be expected. This new Frigidaire has a higher SEER than my old unit and also is 8000 BTU. What I like - QUIET! If you use the low fan speed, the unit is around 50 db or so. That was a pleasant change. Even the high setting is still around 65 db. - Cools the space. That extra 3K BTU made all the difference. - Efficient. I use a wall outlet watt meter and this unit averaged less KwH overnight than my older, less powerful unit. That 12 SEER makes a big difference - Doesn't drip. This unit uses the tray water to help evaporatively cool the condenser coil. Improves efficiency and doesn't drip on my downstairs neighbors' units. - Convenient remote control and thermostat. You can set the remote thermostat across the room and make sure the room is cool, rather than just the air conditioner. What I don' like - The louvers. Many new air conditioners have the rotating paddles. It can be a bit of a challenge to line the air flow up with where you want it. Not a huge gripe. - Plastic grille. The plastic has definitely gotten thinner. Not enough to make a difference this time, but it doesn't feel very durable if you need to snap on and off the front for dusty environments and cleaning. In general, this is a very good value for the money. I was pleasantly surprised that the higher SEER easily makes up for the larger BTU capacity, resulting in more comfort for about the same amount of electricity. It was a good deal!

Great air conditioner
Great air conditioner! Great for small areas or challenging areas. My apt. is small, and living room windows are not wide enough for a decent unit, so I installed this in my kitchen which connects to my living room via a wide arched doorway. Also, the building was built in the late 20's, so insulation is very poor, and gets really hot in the summer! This unit keeps my apt comfortably cool!!!!

I've been using this AC for about a month & it's great! It's a little tricky figuring out how to use all the little extras that help seal the window frame but I was able to install by myself. The "low" setting is stronger than I thought it'd be, but it cools my room in no time!

We would recommend Frigidaire!
Really pleased with this unit thus far, it does a good job. We had a smaller similar Frigidaire AC unit before this one and liked it. This one is a newer and bigger model, but very much like our older one, only a few more bells and whistles, and new! It really pays to have a newer model! We would recommend Frigidaire for a window unit, it's not super loud, but not super quiet, and I don't think any are from what I've read about.

This is great - using it with remote sensor, regular mode - keeps a 270-ft with 9-ft ceilings cool at 100 deg without problem.
This has been a great a/c for me. It is an easy mount. I took my time and did it before the 100-degree days. It is quiet, efficient, effective. I use it on standard mode, remote sensor with the remote near my bed somewhere. Others have complained about the noise in econ mode. I also saw a review where the poster indicated the electrical consumption in both regular and econ. Well, it is pennies. And besides, econ lets it get warmer before it turns on for nighttime use. Wha???? That's just crazy. You need it COOLER at night, not warmer. I also asked a neighbor whose bedroom is directly across the driveway from that a/c if he hears it. Nope. Not a sound. It really is quiet. Anyway, we didn't get many days of use out of it this summer, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in.

The filter is very easy to clean
This is the second fridgdaire Window AC I got. I bought a 5000 BTU in June 2015 and need a bigger unit in the living area, ( plan to move the 5000 BTU in the bedroom). I have Central AC but am NOT using it since most of the time I only stay in one room ( living room/day, bedroom/noght). The living area combine with Kitchen and hallway is about 500 sq. I use curtain to block off the AC, to the kitchen ( it stays 4, 5 degree higher). My goal is to keep the indoor temp around 84 - 88 and this Unit is enough to do that for 500 - 600 sqft. area. I did not even mount the 5000 btu unit in my bedroom. I also use ice ( frozen in 1/2 jar) in area I want to be cooler. ( next to frig, computer etc...) bought the unit 7/12, last month electrical bitt increase from 29 to 32. I have the unit running almost 24x7 with a temp setting between 78 - 82. The filter is very easy to clean, noise level tolerable for a hiper sensitive person as I am. Am I glad that it use the remote sensor.Unit is good looking, not too heavy ( for a 60 years old woman, 5'5"/120lb) to lift up and install it. Love, love love the remote, the air is cold if the outside temp is below 96. with temp settting at 82, It feels cold for me. ( I am most comfortable with 84 -86). I am home all the time and run it all day. Very pleased with the eletrical comsumption. With a big frigerator, ceiling fan, oven, juicer, vitamix, blender use etc....and triple digit at times in Central Texas, $32 for electricity makes me does not want to install solar panel.....

Frigidaire does it right! This is best air conditioner for the price!
This air conditioner's installation kit is fabulous. It comes with insulation boards and strips that cover the sides. It is not only how professionals say you should install an air conditioner, but it helps you save money. The boards look great. It hides the ugly side spacers and blocks out light. This air conditioner is the first air conditioner I have bought where I didn't have to run out and try to buy insulation to make it work. I bought Kenmore window air conditioners last year. I plan on replacing them with this unit. I also like the remote temperature control. The remote has a sensor that will monitor the temp in the room and cut the air conditioner on/off based on the temperature you set. For the price, this thing is perfect. The noise is not too high. Much better than the Sears Kenmore that I purchased. All in all, I am very pleased. I would purchase again.
