I really like this 3 step stool. I'm an older woman, 5 ft tall which means I can't reach most things. This stool is extremely sturdy, no wiggle at all, even on carpet. I can actually reach the ceiling (normal ceiling height) to change the battery in my smoke detector. The tray is handy to put tools or whatever your using to free your hands to work. It's only a couple of inches wide, so it fits along side the refrigerator or in a closet or under the bed. About 16 pounds, so not difficult to move.

This is a very sturdy step stool. Nice wide steps and no wobble. It's a tad heavier than I expected but still easy enough to maneuver around. It folds very flat to make stowing it easy. I have 10 foot ceilings so before I got this, changing light bulbs meant standing precariously on a chair. This step stool is a MUCH safer option, and the project tray gives me someplace to set the old bulb while I'm putting in the new one. I'm sure I will get plenty of use from this around the house.

I’ve owned my fair share of foot stools. I purchased the Rubbermaid to replace another brand that failed while I was standing on it. Most reviewers say this is a very nice foot stool. I agree. Some reviewers negatively commented on the latch being loose. See attached photo 2. I put on my engineering hat and decided this is by design and is a safety feature. When the stool is in use the latch hangs loose about 1/8 inch away from the cross bar. If for whatever reason the foot stool will start to fold while you are standing it the latch will engage the cross bar and prevent it from folding. The weight on the top step is supported by the cross bar. The failed stool that I replaced had a latch that looked similar and was tight, but the integrity of the stool depended entirely on the latch. Unknown to me the latch had become misaligned and the stool collapsed while I was standing on it. A couple of curse words and the trash can took care of this one. A nice feature of the Rubbermaid is the height of the “handle” which could aid in keeping your balance if the stool is not in front of a wall or cabinet. An example is changing a light bulb in the middle of a room This Rubbermaid step stool appears to be constructed decently and should last a reasonable amount of time. Keep in mind like any other foot stool for household use it is just that. If you need something for daily heavy duty use then buy a quality ladder.

I'm only 5' tall and I live in a small studio apartment. This stool helps me make the most of my storage spaces (above cabinets and bookcases) and folds thin to not take up too much space on it's own. It's also narrow enough to fit in some of the odd spots where there isn't much room. Very sturdy.

I am so pleased! There was NO assembly needed. This step stool (to me it is a ladder) comes packaged in a flat box, and opens up as seen in picture. Closes easily back to thin and flat, for storage. This is one substantial and well constructed piece of equipment. The steps are wide and deep enough that I don't feel my feet are hanging over, and there is heavy duty rubber on each step which adds to my feeling of security. I am afraid of heights, to be honest, but the rounded top holder bar gives me a feeling of safety. The project tray on top is most helpful; holes for screwdrivers, a closing compartment. This stool (I still consider it a small ladder) is the perfect height (number of steps) that enables me to reach top shelves in my cupboards, without feeling insecure. .Feet are large, with rubber pads for more security, For thislittle old lady, it was a bit heavy to carry around, but actually that is a positive, as it is steel, and not cheesily made. This is a winner, and I am glad I bought this, rather than one of those flimsy faux vintage kitchen step stools. Highly recommend.

Very stable and easy to climb up on..If u only use the first step u can hold on to top of the handle. I am scared of heights and feEl very safe climbing it.

Took awhile to arrive, but high quality step stool, and easily storable. Doesn't creak or groan under weight, or have any kind of play side to side. Very sturdy, and easy to move around. The compartments on top are very useful -- particularly the red one which securely holds small objects (like screws or stables).

very nice step stool. new house has 10 foot ceilings, need a step stool for many, many things here! We had a 2 step stool for our old house, but found we needed a) more than one stool in this house & b) a slightly taller one...this one is perfect for our master bedroom closet, it is nice looking & fits nicely in a little niche along the end of one of our shelving units in there for storage. Hubby who is mmm beyond the stated weight limit has used it and not broken it & says it feels secure even when he is on the top step, though neither of us prefer to be on the top step it does allow us to get to the things on the very top of our shelving units, giving us a lot of additional storage space.

I like how this Step Stool opens and closes, no worries about finger pinching! When folded it takes up very little space. The steps feel sturdy and I really like how there is a closable compartment to hold tiny nails or screws (w/ red cover). There are slots in the top tray to hold screw drivers, pliers, and a hammer along with a space for a paint can ( or a light bulb so it doesn't roll off!) I wish I had this years ago!

This is a perfect little stepstool! We have the black three-step one, but it keeps getting commandeered for the dirty "project" parts of the house and is never there when I need to reach something in the kitchen. I thought I'd try the two-step in the hopes that it was a little easier to maneuver, and sure enough it is. It is not light like the aluminum ones, but the flimsiness of those scares me. I'd rather have a little more weight but feel more secure when standing on it, and it's easy enough to swing over to where I need it and pop the steps out. There's an easy latch you push down on to release the steps so that they don't come popping out at inopportune times, as well. It sounds weird, but every time I use this I feel happy. The white and grey is so pretty, and the whole thing is just well designed!
