Pleasently surprised
My previous Brother printer started to foul up when I started using generic toner. I also had trouble with paper jams. With this printer I'm using the exact paper recommended by Brother and everything is working fine. Turns out, you shouldn't just throw any paper or toner in your printer. For best results, you need to match your ancillary products to your printer. I use this printer to churn out legal documents and it works like a charm. Unlike the MFC L2740DW, this printer can large loads without breaking a sweat. And the if you set the dpi to 1200 X 1200, the text comes out looking sharp and clean. Will it last longer than 1 year, we shall see. But for now, it's a great printer. ONE CAUTION: As with all Brother printers, setting up the wireless to work is a PITA. Despite what the directions say, buy yourself a printer chord and plug it in during the wireless set up. ALSO, this printer will NOT work wirelessly while your VPN is on. So be sure to turn that off during the setup. ONE NICE FEATURE While the printer was plugged into my computer, during setup it automatically determined the correct date and time.

Great value for a 3 in 1.
Easier to setup than previous models. Wifi works better with less issues on my network. Fast scanning, copying, faxing, all for the price of a mid grade scanner only. I have other Brother printers in my small business and they seem to provide the best performance for the money, especially when considering the toner costs. Knockoff Dell toner is cheap, OKI toner is expensive, IBM toner will cost you an organ donation. Brother toner is on the cheaper side.

Hoppefully another Work horse
Just received my Brother MFC-L5900DW Laser printer. Super easy to install. 1. Took it out of Box 2. Remove packaging material around toner, and installed it. 3. Plugged it in. 4. LCD window came on, connected to WiFi 5. Install Brothers driver and software 6. BINGO All took 20 minutes. I used Brother MFC 8460 N for 8 years. Was a work horse and finally gave out. After a month I will update this review.

Brother MFCL5900DW Monochrome Laser multi function laser Printer Copier/ Fax/ Scanner is a solid machine that I use daily
The Brother MFCL5900DW Monochrome Laser multi function laser Printer Copier/ Fax/ Scanner arriver on time and undamaged. It performs very well as advertised and as expected. It took a slight learning curve to fully appreciate what this unit can do. I really appreciate the tech support which was courteous, professional, and life time. This is a solid machine that I use daily.

Great print quality
Great print quality, excellent special features and the best software interface of any small business printer I've used. We've been using it in the office for about 6 months and I can only think of a handful of inconveniences: * Lots of trouble trying to use the USB port for direct printing from a flash drive. Most of the time, it says the device is unreadable. * Label and envelope printing are inconvenient because so many tray flaps must be opened in order to be able to special-feed paper and then to keep it from falling on the floor once it prints. I must open five different flaps in order to print on special paper and then close them all once the operation is done.

Awesome Printer
Purchased this MFCL5900DW for our ten person small business to replace two aging HP printers. We absolutely love it. First page out in about eight seconds, and it easily prints fifty pages a minute on longer jobs. The printer was a breeze to set up on a Windows 10 network both wired and wirelessly. Super fast seventy page color duplex scanning is a huge plus, as is the "scan to file" feature which sends the output to any computer on the network. Wireless network printing is working perfectly. We can't comment on faxing, as we don't use this feature. It looks like it cost a bit less in consumables than our old HP Laserjets, which is a bonus. If this MFC lasts as long as other Brother printers we currently own, we will be thrilled. Buy it.

Amazing! I Recommend No Other Brand! Converted!
I've owned exclusively high-dollar color laser HP and Lexmark printers. All of them have been unnecessarily expensive to maintain and they all had their own quirks. I've had this printer for over a year and I am VERY impressed. No quirks, very economical toner and you get this odd feeling that every part of this MFP has been well thought out. Honestly, I never use the touch screen but it works great. I do most of the controls from the computer. Scanner is spot on with excellent scan quality. All of the document feeders and rollers are flawless as well (something my HP's never mastered). Get This Printer!!

Strong, handsome, reliable.
Printer-hostile, high- volume user, used to pay Staples rather than touch my office printer. Finally fell in love: the printer of my dreams. Strong, handsome, reliable. We have the occasional squabble about using the wireless, but it is always quickly resolved. After four months, I am still giddy.

and it has been my favorite of the dozen home office printers I have had
I've had this printer for 1.5 years, and it has been my favorite of the dozen home office printers I have had. It's easy to use, perfectly reliable, and everything just works, like a car you can trust to always start. For example, I just had occasion to use the scanner for the first time, and was worried that would be tricky. Nope, just follow the on screen menu and it automatically scans to a file on your PC over the WiFi, even popping up Adobe so you can conveniently look at it, name it, and store it how you want. My wife was recently amazed at how she could print over WiFi right from her iPhone without the slightest difficulty. Low cost aftermarket printer refills work just great with no loss of resolution like some printer manufacturers do to try to force you to use their expensive laser cartridges. It is a nearly perfect product at modest cost.
