My Mother Never Made Me a Deal Like This

After buying and using the Epson Artisan 1430, one Saturday I got an email from Epson offering the (then) $99 XP-430 for - wait for it - $49. Well now. I did and do love the 1430, but using it for a document as well as photo printer was causing me to go through the black inck cartridge on a fairly regular basis. So for $49, I thought why not and signed up. And I am so glad I did. This thing works like everything should. Unless you are completely computer illiterate, or just plain lazy, skip the expert installation. If I can do this, anyone can, and it was a breeze. Excellent quality, reliable operation and convenient wireless availability in a household with two desktops and three laptops. Outstanding.

Need a small all-in-one . . . you won't be disappointed.

Time will tell. My last Epson all-in-one lasted 6 or 7 years, so I hope the same for this one. So far, it works beautifully! It's fast, quiet, & has a smaller footprint then my last printer. For the price & as much as I need a printer, perfect. I actually use the scanner much more than the printer, and it's the same Epson Scan software (which I like). Easy to set up & easy to operate. Best deal around!!

Excellent, Quality Printer

This printer was a total plug and play and I have been printing extremely often. I have not printed any photos on photo paper yet. There are so many settings that I have not even deeply explored yet. I noticed that it can print graph paper, lined paper (college and wide-ruled), and sheet music paper. This is a great printer for any family or even a small business. It runs quietly as well, so I have no don't have to worry about printing late into the night.

Goodbye HP, Hello Epson

I have used HP products for years and years and years. When my last one broke down I asked friends for replacement recommendations. I was surprised to hear the Epson recommended again and again. Leaving the HP "family" after all these years and all the printers I purchased was hard. But I am so glad I bought this Epson. Fast, clear black and white printing and good multipage document scans

I misread the product description and misunderstood it to come without ink. Not true it came with all the color and black and white ink, which I installed. Installation instructions appear simple, but they assume a level of familiarity that I didn't have. That's OK; I put it together in about an hour. In black and white the prints are clear, and the pages printed twice as fast as my four-year-old HP that stopped working with my vintage Mac after numerous Mac software updates. This week's XP-430 challenge was to scan several multipage documents, including an 11-page title insurance policy. Again the instructions were incomplete, even those I found on the Web and You Tube. So I'm pasting here my detailed instructions on how to scan to a Mac from trial, error and success. 1. Go to Mac computer Settings 2. Open Printer 3. Click “scan” 4. Click “open scanner” 5. Place document on scanner screen; close lid. 6. Select "kind," "scan to," and "format." 7. Choose pdf format (the only format that combines multis into one document) 8. Check box for “combine into single document.” In "Name" field, insert a name for the document. 9. Click “overview.” Image of document will appear on computer screen. Using mouse pad, adjust the dotted lines to enclose the document text within the dotted lines. What is outside lines will not be scanned. 10. Once certain all text is within the lines, click “scan.” 11. After computer screen says “saving image” and scanner quiets, remove scanned document and place second page on scanner screen. 12. Click "overview." Review overview image to ensure all data is within the lines. 13. Click "scan." 14. Continue process until all document pages are scanned. 15. On Mac, click “Finder” on menu bar. The scanned document will be at the top of the list. Click it and ensure all pages are scanned as desired. 16. Now save the document to your documents. 17. Delete scanned imagfrom “Finder."

For generic printing duties and small photos, a fantastic all-purpose machine.

We don't ask much of our printers, just that they synch up through wifi with out computer seamlessly, print straight and clean when needed, and occasionally produce a good crisp 4x6 photo (I've done a few passable 8x10's as well), but this machine does all that and more, and never lets us down. It's been chugging along for over a year without problems. And the ink cartridges have good long life. For the money, I can't imagine much more than that.

Perfect printer for my personnal use.

This printer is perfect for my personal use. I use it to print and Scan to and from my computer. Once you install the software on your computer, it is really easy to use wirelessly. I haven't tried any of the other options yet but for the price, it does exactly what I need. I haven't seen a usb input (didn't check thoroughly but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have one) which would make it difficult to print anything without WiFi. Does have a card reader, and installing the ink is easy. It's also a quiet printer which is absolutely great. No clanging for hours just to start up or print. Overall, Very happy with my purchase.

Great for the money - very efficient

I was shopping for an affordable and easy to use printer for home office. This Epson printer is just perfect. Very easy to set up. Its wireless, connects to my Wifi immediately. Extremely user friendly. Where other brands try to get you on ink, this printer seems to be efficient. It prints very fast. For what I have spent this is a great printer.

Great little printer

Very nice printer especially for the price! Easy set up! I'm thinking of purchasing another for my home use. This one is being used in a small business. Looks as though it's everything we will need. I ran invoices and they came out clear and crisp, the color portion was excellent. I have better quality with this than I've had with more expensive printers/all in ones!!
