Great Gadget
I am very pleased with this gadget. Received it today and set it up immediately. It really is quite intuitive in use. Contrary to other reviews, I think the slide and negative holders are quite robust. The capture and menu screen is large enough to correctly position the slide/negative/photo but you really do need another platform such as your computer to do any real editing. But with the included SD card, transfer to your computer is very fast, or you can just leave the images on the card. The 22 mp resolution is really good. It's actually a drawback for photo scanning at my house since I have so much dust and cat hair in the air and that scan shows it all no matter how carefully I wipe the scan bed and photo - sigh. One of the best things for me is the size. It's about 9.5x8 by 5.5 inches tall and quite light weight. I can sit on my bed with my scanning materials next to me and comfortably scan away for several hours without my back giving out. Here are some examples of what I scanned: 1) B&W negative, 2) color slide, 3) 5x7 photo

Very pleased
This thing is truly amazing!! Granted, I am not a "purist"--all I want is to scan several thousand old pictures of various sizes, shapes, etc so that I can dispose of the originals and save the results on my computer. This devise is extremely easy to use and does a very good job of faithfully reproducing the original document. So far, I've scanned about 1,500 photos and will soon start the more laborious task of transferring the slides. I say more laborious, as it involves putting three slides in the holder before they can be scanned. Just more time consuming is all.

A great product. I'm very glad I purchased it
I have just started using the ClearClick 20 MP, but both the prints and slides I've scanned have turned out excellently. It is very simple and quick to use and the memory card makes it that much easier to view on my PC without having to download. A great product. I'm very glad I purchased it.

Simple and easy to use
I have approx 1000 slides to digitalise, so far I have done about half of these. The clear-click scanner has been easy to use and given good results. I didn't use the software provided but chose to use apple aperture to name and adjust the images. The product has met my expectations.

ClearClick
Converted slides and photos to digital, then downloaded to computer hard drive. Worked great with no problems. Read and follow instruction manual before using and while using. Quite a few important things to know before you start, rather than finding out after you're finished. One point of note: Unit has two resolution options - 14 megapixels and 22 megapixels. You'll most likely use the 22M. However, when machine is powered off, it resets to 14M.

well worth the price
I'm digitizing my parents 2000 plus slides, dating from WW II ( 1940's) to 1980's. Then I'll start on all of their photos & newspaper clippings.

Works Great!
Works great! I've scanned thousands of photos already. It even does tiny photos. I just had to go crop out the excess black background in photoshop. It even goes as large as a 5x7 photo. Very nice quality.

This is really easy to use machine
This is really easy to use machine. It will take slides, or regular 35mm negatives, also photos of several sizes.

Love the scanner, especially with the preview adjustments. SD card included is a plus!
I am very happy with this little scanner. I needed to scan 16 boxes of 40 year old slides and about 30 photos. The process went quickly and produced high resolution results. The slides are faded from time with scratches, but still this was the best solution. It was nice to be able to make adjustments to the lightness & RGB in preview mode before scanning. I was able to scan a slide with different settings to pick the best out later. Some tips: 1. Previewing slide before scanning: The scanner often takes a couple seconds to adjust the light for each slide. Give it that time before scanning or saving the scan. If necessary, adjust the lightness (to get to adjustments use the ENTER arrow (down) and adjust until the best setting is reached for each slide. Left arrow flips the slide horizontally & the right arrow rotates it vertically. Nice! No correction for slides put in sideways. 2. If you need a light box to preview the slide before loading it (to see if it is upside down, etc, ) and don't have one, I used my tablet (iPad) with a blank text editing page on bright white. Works perfect! 3. I liked grouping the slides into folders for each box. After scanning each box of slides, I loaded the SD card onto my computer with the recent batch of scanned slides from one box. On the computer, I created a folder on the SD card window and dragged the group of slides from the last box into that folder. Then you can copy this folder to your computer. Since I did this for someone else, it helped me to number the folders & then write that number on the actual box of slides to keep it straight. 4. For the photos, don't forget to place the size guide on the scanner plate and use the crop settings to match. It gives better results! 5. I had trouble with the SD card that came with the scanner, so just used another one I had on hand. Could be my computer being fussy. The lock button on the card may slide down to the locked position, preventing you from creating the folder on the card when on your computer. Eject and check to make sure the button is slid up to the top position. Same thing applies to inserting the SD card into the scanner. The process of inserting it can slide the button down. 6. I use my basic photo editing program (in my case Preview on the Mac) to write notes from the paper slide holder/mount onto the digital scanned image on my computer.

This scanner is great!!
This scanner is great!!! We have been so surprised at how great it transfers slides and photos to a ScanDisk. We're trying to transfer all of our photos to disks and keep them in a safe place so should we have some reason to evacuate our home all we have to do is grab these disks and all of previous photos will be saved. It's also nice to be able to make picture "repairs", i.e. red eye, when we look at the photos after placed on the ScanDisk. Would recommend this to anyone. Very easy to use.
