- Universal Fit – This oil filter tool removes small 2.5” - 3.25” diameter traditional spin-off style oil filters. For larger sizes use the Motivx Tools MX2331. The tool is for oil filter removal only, not for installation. Not for use on chrome plated oil filters or cartridge style filters where you have to remove a plastic or metal cap to expose the filter element.
- Better Design – This wrench features a .050” captured spring as opposed to the flimsy .020” spring found on other wrenches. The oil filter contact surface has a tooth style design for a better grip and less slip.
- Quality Materials – The jaws are built tough using nickel plated 4130 chromoly steel and attached to the 3/8” thick solid steel top plate.
- Professional Quality - Motivx Tools is a family owned and operated specialty tool company located in the United States and we take great pride in our products. These oil filter wrenches are backed by a 1 year warranty and excellent customer service.
- Purchase With Confidence - Buy our Motivx Tools universal oil filter wrench knowing it's a perfect fit, excellent quality, built to last, and most importantly we stand behind our products.

Effective due to superior design.
I bought this and Neiko (#03421A) 3 jaw oil filter wrench for my 1993 Toyota Camry. I got both because I didn't know which design would do the job. The oil filter location is hard to reach and the filter was on tight. I couldn't remove it with existing oil filter wrenches including plier type wrench. I used the Neiko wrench first. It DID NOT GRIP the oil filter WELL and kept on spinning without gripping. The Neiko wrench has 3 prongs with gear. After several unsuccessful attempts, I switched to using the Motivx adjustable wrench. Wow, what a difference! I was able to remove the oil filter with the Motivx wrench. The SPRING LOADED CLAW DESIGN digs into the filter without slippage. Just make sure you turn it slowly. This therefore is the superior design. Both wrenches were made in Taiwan.

Awesome tool! Will be used as long as I keep changing my own oil
Short version of this review: I love this product. I will use it on my Enclave forever. For me, it's a 5+ stars product. Long version: I bought this tool because I was unable to remove an oil filter from my wife's Buick Enclave. I tried a lot of filter wrenches I already had and also a pair of filter pliers. It would not budge. I was extremely frustrated with the situation. Whoever the tech at the dealer was that put this thing on thought it was a bolt, not a filter. It was way over-tightened. When I found this during my search for a solution, I posted a question and I got an answer from Motivx within a couple of hours. I bought it immediately. I am unbelievably happy that I did. On my Enclave, you can only get 1 hand down to the filter. When you do, you can't see. I only have room for about a quarter turn or less. I was unsure how I was going to make this tool work when I removed it from the packaging. The way it works is you turn the "wrench" clockwise to expand the jaws enough to go over the filter end, and then start ratcheting. With my very limited room in this auto, I thought it was going to be difficult. It wasn't. Took me about 5 minutes to figure it out and remove the filter. Attach the wrench to the socket. Move the socket to the tighten setting (not loosen). Why? So that I could use my right thumb and hold the jaws all the way open without the ratchet engaging. Lowered my right hand with the thumb holding the jaw into the small opening and slid it over the filter. Then released my thumb. Carefully moved my hand to the back of the ratchet to change the direction (twice, when I did this, I knocked the wrench off). Then I was free to start ratcheting. This thing grabs! And it didn't slip back when I had to ratchet back when I used up my miniscule turning of about a quarter turn or less. I saw many questions asking if it cuts the filter. Well, my filter was really really really tight and this wrench did not slip (all my other wrenches did slip) and it did not dig into the filter. It didn't care that I had partially dented the filter earlier when I tried to use filter pliers. My other wrenches didn't even try to work once I had done that. If my description of how I used it didn't make sense, don't worry. It works. I didn't completely understand either until the product came and I put it on my ratchet. I might try to make a video to demonstrate. While on the topic of packaging, thank you so much for minimal packaging too!

BUY IT !!!!!!!
This tool does EXACTLY what it claims to do. I encountered an oil filter that had been over tightened by some Quick-Lube joint gorilla and it was frozen in place. Normally I would just drive big screwdriver through the filter and twist it off but I had limited room to work in. (Toyota Camry 4 cylinder ). The standard socket type wrench wouldn't budge the filter and would just cam off the end of the filter. There wasn't room for a strap type wrench, pipe wrench or vice grips. I ordered the Motivx Oil Filter Wrench and put the job off until it arrived. The Motivx Wrench worked like a champ and the filter came off instantly with no problems. The tool is well made, does exactly what it says it does and is reasonably priced. If you have ANY need for a 65 mm oil filter wrench - THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS TOOL !

Why have I fought with oil filter strap wrenches for so long when this was out there?
Bought this after buying a new Ford Escape and realizing that Ford decided to try and make their customers as angry as possible by making it impossible to remove the filter with a standard oil filter strap wrench. Ended up asking myself why I'd never purchased this before! Makes removing a filter so much easier it's not even funny! And when you have one that's hard to get to you can still almost always get this slid over the end and then a couple extensions and a wobble head or two and you are in business!

So Far So Good
I couldn't get the oil filter off of my Kubota GR2110 riding mower and I was using one of those old style wrench's. Couldn't get the wrench to tighten down. Ordered this gizmo and off it came. This was easy to fit into the tight space where the filter was located. Plug your socket wrench into this and away you go. It was a small filter and this is for small filter use so it worked like a champ. Not sure if this will work on my larger auto filters but if it does, I may begin changing the oil in my vehicles. It is adjustable but adjustment is for a designated range.

This tool saved me a tow bill!
I generally change oil in our vehicles but my wife took her car to the dealer for other service and had them change oil at the same time. A few 1000 miles later, I decided to change the oil and when I couldn't loosen the oil filter with my finger tips, I realized that someone else must have installed it. The filter is in a very hard to reach location so I tried using oil filter pliers inserted vertically with channel locks on the handles to turn it. It had been torqued on so tightly that I partially crushed the filter and it wouldn't budge. After that it leaked so the car couldn't be driven. I found this remover and ordered it. When it arrived I got a breaker bar and 3/8" extension and the filter came right off with no problem. If you use lithium grease on the gasket, and twist the filter an additional 3/4 turn after the gasket comes into contact with the mounting plate, you will be able to easily remove the filter with your finger tips and you won't need this tool. But this tool is the perfect antidote when you give your car to moronic simians to do the oil change. Works perfectly even on a deformed filter!!

Ideal oil filter wrench
Wish I had this on my first oil change. First time changing oil on my caddy CT6, had to remove the protection metal shield in order to get my oil filter wrench in. Caddys have a tendency to mount their oil filters vertical which is good because you don't have to worry about the oil filter back flowing out but they sure don't leave much room to get a wrench in. Bought this after my first painful oil change. My second oil change which is now went like clock work with this tool. It grabbed the filter with almost no slippage. Put my rachet in with an extension and the filter came right out. I have 4 different oil filter wrenches accumulated over the years but this one is now my to go filter remover! Thanks Motivx for making one.

Will easily remove dented and destroyed oil filter.
After purchasing used vehicle and deciding to do a routein oil change I realized I was unable to loosen the oil filter. I spent nearly 3 hours trying brute force which made me sore as hell the next day, normal oil filter wrenches, and a strap wrench which dented the center of the filter and put a hole in it. I was sooo fusterated and didn't want to have to tow to a shop for something this stupid. There was no room to try the screwdriver trick and I was afraid of destroying the filter even more so I purchased this tool. First I was suprised cause it feels pretty tough. I hooked it up to the filter and within like 10 seconds I had that piece of sh#@ filter off 😆😆. This thing works real damn good. All of the dents and scratches on the picture are from attemps I used before using this tool.

Excellent Oil Filter Wrench - easiest and most reliable
This review is for the Motivx Tools Adjustable Oil Filter Wrench. It is far and away the best oil filter wrench I've used. Very durable, super easy to use and works like a charm every time. Just like many of you I've used several different oil filter wrench - generally of three different types - and there are various problems with every one I've used except for the Motivx wrench and other quality ones like it. Even among the others similar to it the Motivx one stands out in how well it's built. The cup-style oil filter wrenchs that fit into the end of the filter like a big socket seem like they'd be a good way to go but unfortunately most of them slip off the filter and/or warp and flare out and just end up spinning on the end of the filter. Waste of money. The last one I bought (at O'Reilly) did that the first time I tried to use it. The other type, which fits around the body of the filter like a big ring and tighten onto the filter when you turn the wrench, are generally okay PROVIDED you have enough space to get it on the filter AND enough space to turn it. You don't have to worry about any of that with this type* of wrench. * "this type" meaning the same type of filter wrench as this Motivx wrench.

Effortless
My new favorite tool. I just picked up an '09 ZX-6R and the first thing to do was change the fluids. The bike had a K&N filter on there with a nut on the end, however it was cranked down so tight that even sticking a socket on there to remove it ended in frustration. The K&N filters have so much paint over the nut that it's hard to get a secure fit on it. To make matters worse, the filter location is in a spot that prohibits any type of oil filter wrench to get a good grip on it. I tried anyway and did a good job of mangling the filter and the tray around the filter that keeps oil from dripping all over the side of the bike. Before resorting to the 'ol jam a screwdriver in it and hope for the best method, I decided to see what Amazon had to offer. Most of the options aren't designed to fit in a tight space, however this one looked like it might do the trick. I slipped it on, stuck a ratchet with extension on there and got it to grip instantly. This tool made removal effortless. Easily worth the money for me.
