We highly recommend this baby gate! We have no complaints. Here are some of the things we love about it... 1. It was easy to install. My husband installed two in 10-15 minutes. 2. You don't have to drill any holes in the door frame in order to install it. 3. It can swing open in either direction. 4. It is sturdy. Our son pulls up to stand at it and we are not a bit worried about it coming loose. 5. It doesn't close automatically. When our baby is asleep we can leave it open and come and go easily. 6. It is not complicated to open (after the first time or two). 7. You can tell if it is latched correctly, because the top of it will be green. If it is unlatched it is red. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this purchase. For the record I paid full price for this review. I'm a mom who reads all 100+ reviews, so I try to leave helpful reviews as well. :)

Very impressed with this product. The other gates we use in the house were not sturdy when I added the extensions. This gate comes with 3 extensions and is VERY sturdy thanks to the way they connect. Pros Sturdy when in a 44" opening Good locking mechanism Swings both directions or just one way, you can control the directions. Nice paint coating They use a cable tie to ease installation Cons it would have been nice if they included a 'tool' to tighten the locking nuts. I tightened them hand tight but think they need a bit more than that. Easy to use a screwdriver or other tool to tighten the last little bit.

Nice sturdy gate! Easy Install!

Love this gate. We use it between hallway and kitchen area. It was easy to install, and the lock is nice and secure. Gate can be opened both ways and once you get used to the locking mechanism, it's very easy to open and lock. You can leave it all the way open if desired, or leave it semi-closed without latching it if you'll be going back and forth a few times. It is not an auto shut gate, you do have to manually lock it. We installed this sitting on top of the transition piece separating hall and kitchen area and gate has no issues swinging either way. We have a large dog,(husky-lab mix) and she is not able to jump it. Using the rubber sides, there was no damage to the wall and it fits very securely, we only needed one extension. It's very easy to adjust the tension to get a tight fit between the two walls. The walk thru gate itself is nice and wide which is good because this is a high traffic area of our home.. This gate is perfect for what we needed it for, haven't found any down side as of yet.

Searched FOREVER for a swinging gate. I didn't want to use headwear to mount into my wall because of the many reviews of damage I'd seen. So pressure mounted was the way to go. This gate had good reviews so I thought I'd try it. Directions were simple to follow, but you DO NEED TO READ THEM! The gate comes with TWO different extensions for flexibility of use in areas with different widths. I have mine at the top of the stairs though it's not a 'top of stairs model' because it's not hardware mounted. The ability to adjust the 4 different pressure points is great & assures a secure fit. I was able to mount despite the round trim on the bottom and 1" difference between top & bottom width. The latch to open is easy to use I've one handed. The actual walk through area is wide enough to walk through while carrying a laundry basket and without doing yoga turns to fit! My 5 year old can do the latch now that I've taught him. The stop locks at the bottom are helpful for allowing only one way opening or add additional lock. I have cats who needed to be able to get up & down from the lower level & while this doesn't have the special kitty door I did find a solution by leaving out the pole of the small extension. (See photo) I'm not sure if it would effect the overall safety of the gate function but I'm using this to keep dogs from the lower level & not baby safety. I did pull & push on it to too see if it would move but it's in there nice & tight! So far I'm very pleased and WOULD recommend this gate. The sole purpose of buying this one is because it's stated as easy install and being a fairly young Mom with a hubby rarely home I decided to make things easier and purchase this one. It is truly is SIMPLE to install and takes 5-10 minutes tops. Someone left a review that stated that the door wont shut because it's too short to reach the latch. Nooooo.. When you tighten the pressure mount you had one side over more and if you loosen that one mount before getting it tight that brings the door closer to the latch and you know when it's right because the red turns green and tighten the other side. Very simple and a simple error that takes seconds to correct.. I promise.. I'm the idiot who can't put much of anything together and had this up in minutes so if I can do it anyone can. You don't have to screw holes in the wall, it's all pressure mounted and takes minutes to set up. You don't have to put anything together unless you need to add the extension which looks easy. You just place the mounts in, no tools needed and tighten to the wall. It is heavy duty white metal besides the latch parts and parts to connect the extension. I have never owned a gate but it seems super sturdy, I didn't use the extension as we have a super narrow door frame that this went in. We have an older home and this went on my sons entrance to his room which is more narrow then any room in the home including the bathroom. It's probably the length of a lot of closet doors but measures 29". It says for entrances 28" plus but we had a few inches to spare so it may fit 27" frames but I would go by the measurements of 28" inches plus in the description to be sure. I read a couple reviews that states hard to open but this wasn't an issue at all for me. Days I have carpal tunnel I can still open it fine so I assume a few got bad mechanisms or they recently fixed the issue. Positives: Door can swing both ways It's super easy to walk through, very large opening compared to others I've seen online. (I enclosed a picture, sorry about the mess) others seems crazy tight and that's a huge positive for me with this gate. It's very easy to walk through. You only lose about 2 inches from your entrance unlike most. Easy to install. Easy to open with one hand. Seems sturdy and durable. Pressure mount, no tools needed and no damage to door frames. Cons: Price is higher then others. I paid $45 and Amazon went up on the price by $5 in one week. Update: It's back down again. Door doesn't swing shut Baby doesn't like it so far which I'm sure would be the same with any gates but we only use it when necessary .. 😳 I have no other gates to compare this one to but all in all I'm super pleased with it and would definitely buy this one again. :)

Works perfectly

I was nervous purchasing this as the area i needed it in was about 47 and a half inches wide. It fits perfectly. I was also nervous as i lost a decent amount of height compared to the gate we have on the steps (41" extra tall regalo gate) although it hasn't thankfully been an issue. My dog is a 50lb/24" height at the withers GSD/Husky mix and she cannot/ doesn't bother to hop this gate. It may be a different story if you have a larger full bred husky. Durability if great I have no issues with it sliding around or coming out of place. Petite cats like my 2 can fit through the bars. My other.. "Thicc" cat cannot fit through nor jump the gate. He isn't an obese cat. More of an average size who is slightly over weight. Gates are a wonderful alternative to crates imo. My dog only loved laying in her crate when we were home (when she was a puppy to about 6 months old) although hated being in it when we'd leave and would panic and destroy anything in it. The gates allow restricted freedom when alone which her and I love. No more sneaking in the kitty litter (Ew). I allow the cats total freedom and wasn't intended to use it for the cats which is why im glad at least 2/3 cats can go through the bars. If you want to use this for cats you may run into some problems if they're petite, or dont mind gate hoping. *I didn't have to use the extensions to fit the space i needed

Great dog gate

Great way to keep my dogs and their hair out of my office. Installs easily and is sturdy. I usually don't latch it all the way during the day when I am in and out but my dogs apparently aren't smart enough to realize that! When it is latched, it is fairly easy to open once you get the hang of it. I prefer the metal gates over the plastic ones and this looks nice in my doorway.

I. Can't. Say. Enough. About. This. Gate. I really can't. I have a 10 month old, a 16 month old, and a 4 year old. I also have a pitbull and a chihuahua. I have now purchased two of these gates, and I will NEVER buy a different gate. Ever. I will not. These are a BREEZE to install if you actually follow the directions, which are preeeeeeeetty crystal clear. You measure the opening, place the appropriate number of extensions, and then tighten the bolts! Once the red indicator turns green, you've tightened them enough, and you can snip off the zip tie. DONE! I purchased 4 Pack Wall Cups for Baby Gates, Wall Protection Guard Saver Protects Wall Surface, Door, Wooden Stairs. Safety Fit for Walk Through Security Pressure Mounted Gates to pair with these gates and it is just a WONDERFUL combination of things. These gates are ROCK solid and withstand the test of everything you can throw at them! I have owned well over 10 other gates and NONE compare to the security, durability, ease of installation, and appearance of this one.

Love this gate!!!

Love this gate. Can't say enough good about it. We have it on the top of a stair case to keep the dogs where we want them. It is sturdy enough to keep a large German Shepherd and very excitable Golden Retriever at bay. It definitely keeps our 3 10 pound Havenese on the side we want them. It is easy to install, assemble and use. Took me less than 15 minutes from box to in place. The door swings both ways, not at all, or you can make it swing in only one direction, which ever way you choose. The color coded setup is great to know you have it tight enough against the wall. Works well when there is a baseboard because the tightening bolts can be tightened to different lengths for top and bottom. Love the idea that if we no longer need it in a particular spot you can easily move it and never know it was there. Only issue I had was that the instruction sheet somehow got taped together so I could not use them. Because of this I can't comment on how good they are, but it was very easy to set up without them.

Very durable

LOVE this gate! I have had it a few months now and it is surviving 3 very rowdy kids constantly slamming it shut and hanging on it. I have it in a very high traffic area between the kitchen and living room so it takes a lot of abuse but still standing strong. I like that you can latch it shut by giving it a good swing with one hand. Also, my 7 year old has no issue getting it open but my 2 year old isn't able to. Will definitely buy again if the need arises. I am not a sponsored rating, just a happy customer. This is my first time rating anything on amazon. :)
