Solved a problem and created a new toy
5 stars all the way. Plugged this into my 2nd Gen Toyota Tacoma and with a freeware Android App, was quickly connected and able to read and clear a code that has been persistent since I replaced the alternator that died on me. It was completely worth the purchase price for that feature, but in addition, it "talks" really well to my Android app so I can display a number of gauges that I wouldn't normally have access. For instance I can see my measured speed and GPS speed side by side. Running oversize tires I know my speedometer reads slow, now I can see at a glance my actual speed compared to indicated speed. A lot of the features will come from whatever app you choose to use, but this device is what provides all the data. I'm super happy with my purchase and looking forward to using an app to track the data that this device transmits. I feel like I get way more than just a code reader.

Great Christmas Present for my husband and simple instructions
So I am super stoked about this item! This is actually for my husband for Christmas. I probably should not have opened but I wanted to check the item out. So instructions seem fairly simple and to the point. I downloaded the app, the Torque lite app actually on my phone, so that is the free version. There is another Torque one that has a fee but I am so not mechanically inclined to understand the jargon. App was simple and instructions are step by step and tell you what to do. It is also blue tooth capable although not sure if you need wifi to use the bluetooth with it. In any case I will update again once my husband opens it up for Christmas. I am super stoked because I know he will love this. He is ALWAYS and I mean always checking the errors on our several cars we have. Hmmmm maybe that's a sign we may need even newer ones.

Nice product
Works well at a very good price. At first it was not working, but then I googled to determine you must full stop the app and then restart. This information should be included with the product to ensure everyone knows how to make it work.

Nifty..worked perfectly and saved money!
Perfect..saved me big money. Total investment including the iPhone app was $35. Was able to google the error code and find a forum that discussed the issue. Traced the problem to a loose hose connection at the rear of the truck.Problem solved! Firestone wanted $57 just to recover the codes...I suspect that I saved a couple hundred bucks here.

Plug in Car and Connect to your phone.
Product works, No complaints, Was able to pair it up with the my Samsung Galaxy note 5 via wifi. Used in 4 different vehicles without any issues. The App I used for this was Torque Pro..

Thank you !!!!!
Best thing ever. I just bought a 2012 BMW X5 - diesel. After 50 miles my check engine light came on and I took it back to the dealer. The dealer cleared the fault code telling me it was a tail light error. After 50 miles the light came on again ... took the car back ... the dealer said it was an AC error and it's fixed. Of course after another 50 miles the light came on again so I ordered this little thing that showed me the fault code was coming from the NOX sensor. I cleared the fault code and drove another 50 miles and the light came on again. I took the car to the dealer with the light on and told him it's the NoX sensor. The dealer said it's not true because his computer shows him a fault code from a light inside the car and that I should expect check engin light on all the time on BMW cars. I took out the kobra and showed him that my 20$ computer is better than his 5000$ computer and I said that I will go to another BMW expert and get an official diagnose and I will sue him. He said that he can't change it in his shop so I have to go to another shop and he will pay the bill - 2700$ After the sensor was changed my BMW works great and no mor check engine lights on. I used the free OBD doctor app from the app store. Here is a printscreen from my phone.

Sweet little gadget for a used car owner
I just got this in and i’m pretty happy with it. If you’re an iPhone user, download the free OBD car doctor app. It gives you the key pieces of info you’ll need for your car without any additional cost. It’ll even let you clear the code. Pretty sweet. I drive a 2003 Corolla that runs well. The catalytic converters has been bad on it for a while now. Since all this does is reduce my fuel efficiency, I have to decided to not spend the $400 to get it fixed, but I always wonder if new codes have arisen for my vehicle. That’s where this guy comes in. As long as that’s the only code I see, I know i’m good. I’ll pay $18 for that peace of mind. Plus, I can clear that code anytime. And, just like that, no more check engine light taunting me! The set-up is idiot proof. The app does most of the explaining. This is essential for any used car owner.

This is a great item for those who want to know what is ...
This is a great item for those who want to know what is wrong with their car to see if its something they can do themselves or have a professional take care of the problem. It does require a third party app which I purchase for $5 but still a great price.

Easy to use, worked great
Worked great for me. I am using on Android (Samsung S8) w/ a Mazdaspeed3. I know some people tried a bunch of apps, but for me the Torque Lite free app worked right away. I set it up, unplugged, replugged, and restarted the car & app - then worked perfectly. Make sure it is pushed in all the way onto the OBDII port, was a bit tighter fit than expected for me and at first thought it was broken since didn't power on. I will say the Torque Lite (free version) is not all that great a UI, but I just wanted it to check and reset engine codes and it did that perfectly for no extra cash. BTW, I found this wifi version to work great. I was a bit skeptical. I have (or had) the bluetooth version, but misplaced it so figured I'd try this one out. Works well, and also multi-platform.

Finally...consumer protection from shady mechanics!
My husband's check engine light kept going on intermittently, we knew we had to take it into the shop but we've been conned by mechanics before who claim more is wrong with the car than really is; KOBRA Wireless to the rescue! We bought the extension cable, (good luck plugging it in without it, and be careful you don't accidently snap it off - get the cable) plugged and booted, downloaded the suggested free app and within minutes we had a diagnosis code. The app wanted money to explain the code but we saved the $10 with a quick Google. We were then able to bring our car to the mechanic knowing what was wrong & having already researched fair market repair costs we knew a good +\- range. I know many mechanics thrive on ripping off those who don't know much about automotive repairs, don't be one of them - buy this & arm yourself with the power of consumer knowledge.
