Nice mount

This does what it says and works well. PROS: -Very affordable -Low profile when not in use -Can actually hold the iPad horizontally or vertically -Easy to insert and remove iPad -Fits nicely with or without a case CONS: -No bottom if you use the iPad vertically, which can make you nervous though it seems to hold well (with a case) -The teeth that hold it in the CD slot loosen over time and it can fall out. You must tighten it occasionally. I'd definitely recommend this mount

Small but MIGHTY!

My husband asked that I purchase this product on my next Amazon order. The following comments are his: "I have to admit that when I saw the tiny box this tablet holder came in, I thought, "Oh, this can't be the right thing". When I looked into the box it was obvious that it had to be partially assembled, but I was struck that this can not possibly be large enough or sturdy enough to hold and support the weight and jiggling of my 10 inch tablet in a car CD player mouth. To my complete surprise this little monster after assembled and stretched out grabs onto and holds onto my Tab 4 10.1 with ease and a little room to spare. The mount grabs the tablet on the short side, but you can rotate the tablet to portrait or landscape once shoved into the CD slot. There is a screw knob near where the holder slips into the CD player mouth and can be adjusted to spread and latch the holder firmly into the player. When holding the holder in my hand, I can shake and jiggle it quite harshly without any grip loss. As a plus, the holder will double as a table stand too. Again, you can rotate the mount for portrait or landscape position. There is a wide slot for easy pass through of the power supply. I happen to have a 90 degree plug-in, and it fits quite well through the slot. Gripping and releasing is simple as pie, just pull the strong spring loaded end and remove or place."

Very nice

I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out it works very well. Easy to use, easy to setup. Easy to insert phone or tablet. Easy to remove. You can use it in upright position or you can invert it so the tablet hangs lower. On normal well paved roads, no shaking. Some slight shaking at highway speeds on bumpy surface but that's not bad. Can block main forward facing air vents - but this will definitely depend on what kind of vehicle you have. I have used mine with 10" tablets and down to iPad Mini 2, Works well with either. I have not had any issues with slipping or falling out.

Wish I had found this years ago

I love this mount. I use it for my iPad air when I'm traveling long distances. I use a keyboard case with my iPad so I do take it out of this when I put it in the holder. Feels very secure when in mount. Bc of where my cd slot is located it blocks my navigation screen but I use Waze for navigation on my iPad anyway so that's not an issue. I had bought a different one for my phone but could use this mount for both. Easily tilts for me to view it. I didn't use any adhesive(I think it came with some sort of stickers) just tightened it in the cd slot. Wish I had found this year's ago.

Love it

Fits perfectly in my Jeep Patriot. Recommend adding the sticky pads to the edges being put into the CD slot if they will fit as it will reduce the plastic on plastic slippage if the portion that goes into the Cd slot and the actual Cd slot. Also, I have notified that long trips using GPS and Music play lead to a very hot cellphone even causing mine to shut down in the past. Now my air conditioning vents blow right on to my phone to help keep it cool. Buying another one for my partners vehicle! Finally a use for the CD slot!!!!

Honda Element SC with XM Radio

I have had this item for a little while and yesterday took it on a short {200 mile } out and back trip for an overall evaluation before my 3400 mile vacation drive. All I can say is if you READ the product listing meeting the description and the CD slot is FLAT this item works perfectly ! On the return drive I rotated my iPad with the orientation long-ways like I use with my iPhone because I prefer that format, it had the same stability as sideway. My concert was 'what effect' would this mounting have on the Heat/AC vents ............ negligible ........... Radio controls were some what obstructed, however to me personally that was a non-issue because I use my AirPods and listen to Podcasts and receive WAZE instructions via Bluetooth anyway. This is a winner in my 2007 Honda Element SC with OEM XM radio.

Pleasantly surprised

I just got this and set it up. It accommodates my Galaxy S8+ with a case, and it can also accommodate my 11" iPad pro (horizontally). This it the ideal scenario, so I can put my phone in for day-to-day use, and swap in my iPad for longer car rides. I much prefer this install to the vent clip or windshield mount, but I'm lucky that my car happens to have a CD player in an ideal position for looking at a mobile device. Overall, I am extremely satisfied, and this is personally a big upgrade from the magnet-mount vent-clip car mount I had before (which I stopped using completely). EDIT - Added photos to show how it connects.

Solid, best for using with the same phone or tablet regularly

Good, solid construction, with CD-mounting being way, way more secure than vents or dash. Strong plastic with cool rubberized finish. One arm has a tight ratchet system that I usually cant adjust without taking it off. The other is spring-loaded and slides up an inch or two to place or remove the device. Great price for something big enough for a tablet. I've ended up using it for my phone because it was so much easier in and out than the darned vent mount wireless charger I also bought. It rotates the full 90* for landscape/portrait. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8+. It's almost too small for this holder. I have to flip it that quarter turn (so the side braces are holding the top and bottom) to get it to fit. Still smoothly rotates and adjusts the angle some (not a lot of movement there). Feels solid and smooth doing so. Since I threw out the wireless charger, I just feed the USB2.0 cord up through the hole (in the side arm, that is now on the bottom and in the way), and plug it into my phone before putting it in the holder. Considering the holder I got for my phone for about the same amount of money, this one was definitely a good buy.

Much cheaper alternative than upgrading car to Apple Play stereo

I drive a lot for work and was looking to upgrade my stereo to an Apply Play one. After figuring the cost of the stereo, installation, wiring harness and mounting bracket, was looking at the $800-1000 range. Have an iPad pro through work and my car already has Bluetooth, so just went with this and now I have all my music and navigation on a 9.7" screen. My CD slot is above my stereo so the iPad just covers that up which is no problem since I use my steering wheel controls for volume, next track, etc. Can turn it towards my son in the passenger seat if he wants to watch a movie when traveling. Less than $20 and worked out very well!

Very versatile

This is awesome can fit my iPhone to my iPad. Basically what you need during road trips. Easy to install. If you use CDs this is not for you. Only thing I would like to change is that, I hope it is easier to take out your phone while it’s mounted and plugged to your cable. Because in order for me to check my phone up close I have to remove the plug and then unmount it. (Basically there is a hole below the mount to slide in your cord to charge/connect your phone to your car) Unlike other products I can easily unmount it while the cord is connected. Of course this is done with safety. Don’t use your phone while driving or ask someone else to navigate for you.
