With 5 cats and 3 dogs I had to have something universal. I had been using advantage 2 with great success on fleas, ticks not so much. But i can live with ticks. I bought this product to see if it does as well as its name brand and I am happy to say that so far we are good. No fleas yet , and the ticks are the same lol. I have only used this once so far thats 30 days of coverage. I will use this all up to get a better feel for it. But if im still flea free by the time i need more I will repurchase. This is so much easier on my pocket book. Thank you sellers for putting on the market place.

I have used this product Advecta several times since June and am very happy with it. I did NOT get it for free. I do not belong to any organization, etc. and am not an employee. I am just a customer looking for the least expensive, best flea treatment I can find. I have tried Advantage II, Sentry, Frontline, Revolution and others. And while I consider Revolution the best product on the market because of all that it does, Advantage II and Frontline Plus are right up there with it. I don't have the kind of funds required to purchase those products on a regular basis which is what is needed for flea elimination. Flea products are meant to control and eventually eliminate most fleas, larvae etc., whatever the product states, but they are not a cure all. I have more than 5 cats in my home, none go outside. Fleas come in on shoes, clothing, open/closing doors and are as pesky as ants and just as determined. One treatment to kill fleas is unrealistic of ANY flea product. You need regular monthly applications along with cleaning of furniture, UNDER furniture, rugs, their bedding, your bedding and anywhere your animal goes. If you see fleas on your animal, you have fleas elsewhere in your home! Even with the application in place on your pet, it will not stop fleas from jumping on them. Also, how well did you apply the treatment? If your animal is foaming and drooling, then most likely the animal can reach the treatment and is trying to lick it off. The animal should be in the "sphinx" position, on its belly where the body weight is evenly spread. If you try to apply it when they have shifted or are on their side, you are going to find you put it on their shoulder or some other god forsaken place you don’t want it to be. Wrap them in a towel if you have to, then find the little section between the shoulder blades. Start there and parting the hair UNTIL YOU SEE SKIN as you go, squiggle and wiggle the applicator into the fur as far down into it as you can get to the skin. Work your way up the back of the neck to the head. No it's not easy, but it is the most effective. On the skin is key, applying it to hair is not only ineffective, it's dangerous to the animal. This product is good, really good... It is just as good as Advantage II or Frontline Plus but one treatment, even of those products is not going to solve your flea problem. Perseverance will... I've been working with cats over 50 years and have learned a few things in my time... the reality of the persistence and determination of fleas is one of them... Hope this helps...

We've always bought Advantage II for our cats, and K9 Advantix for our dog. Both products have always worked. We've never had any luck whatsoever with Frontline Plus, or the generic equivalent, PetArmor Plus. However, with 7 cats, monthly flea treatment is a bit pricey. I was ecstatic to find a generic Advantage II treatment in Advecta II. THIS STUFF WORKS! TREMENDOUSLY!! We treat all of our animals with Advecta II now; the cats get either the 5-9# or the 9#+, and the dog gets Advecta II for Dogs 21-55# once a month, and they are ALL flea free. Keep in mind: - You WILL see fleas for the first few days (or weeks) after treatment, depending on how bad yours is. Remember, fleas will be living in your home, in your carpet, in the cracks of your furniture. They ALL have to jump on your pet (after treatment) for the cycle to end. - You WILL see A LOT of fleas especially after treatment for the first day or so, because the active ingredients in Advecta II (and Advantage II) cause the fleas to start becoming a lot more active than they typically are. The key here is that you SHOULD start seeing fleas dying (or in the process of dying); typically, we see them just walking or spinning in circles as their nervous system shuts down. - You WILL have to treat for probably a few months in order to kill all the fleas and flea eggs in your environment. If you have any outside pets, you're basically going to be treating for their entire life (not only them, but the inside pets as well). All our fur babies are happy and flea free, and I'm glad that Advecta II works as well as Advantage II, because it's definitely more affordable.

I got this because the spay and neuter clinic I've gone to for almost 20 years has been telling me the last month or more, that the Crossblock II, only for the size 55 lbs and over, ( generic Advantage II ) has been on backorder through the company. I went online and cannot find the 55 lb+ size anywhere. I normally pay about $28.00 for a 4 month supply. I have 2 150+ pound dogs and 2 cats, ( I use a syringe to put the proper dose on the cats ) . I put this on the dogs about a week ago, and haven't had a problem with them chewing or scratching hardly/ if at all. It seems to be working just great, considering right before I applied it my male dog had thinned the hair on his back leg considerably from constant chewing. I don't have any of the problems with the application like I've read other people have, its exactly like any topical I've used, you need to put several small amounts directly on the skin at the base of the hair mostly around the shoulder area. ( so as to attempt to let it absorb and dry before the dog injests it ) Pretty common sense. I noticed it actually dries faster than the others I've used also. Its completely dry by the next day. I would avoid Frontline also, the fleas have become amune to it. I have had personal experience with this, and was also told by my vet, who won't carry it. I am very pleased with the results of the Advecta II, and the price is very reasonable. I will keep purchasing it, unless there is an issue, them I will update.

Don't waste your money on Advantage. Advantage works better than Frontline and it's generic versions but this is generic Advantage and works just as well. I can't believe I can get effective flea control for such a low price. I've been using it for close to a year with no problems. I'm in Florida where the fleas are AWFUL and resistant to many of the treatments,

Fleas thrived on the other brand we were using. We buy Advecta II Treatment for Cats over 9 lbs., because it is the generic version of Advantage II which has worked best for our three cats. The generic brand works just as well, because it has the same ingredients as Advantage II and it is less expensive.

I rarely review things due to laziness and time constraints. However, this product is cheaper and as effective as the other name brand flea preventatives. My husky sleeps on top of our comforter and this morning we awoke to around 30-40 dead fleas on top of the bed. We just applied last night. I'm pretty horrified and relieved at the same time. The only way this product could be better is if the fleas exploded after being exposed, providing mini fireworks from their disgusting little bodies.

Finally found something that works. I have been talking about this for over a year. Not this product, but flea traetments. I have gone through Frontline Plus (best, but after two weeks, fleas start to appear), PetArmor Plus (same ingr. as Frontline Plus, but for some reason it was dropping effectiveness after a week), BioSpot (no, just no, didn't do a thing), Adam's Flea and Tick Spray (really great if you do it every two week, but the smell in the house can get potent and the cat being a little wild still was yeah, haha), and Adam's Flea and Tick drops (nothing, terrible). It's our backyard that is the problem. The rats have been using our neighborhood as a place to go through. They bring fleas all over the place. I don't like to use harsh sprays because of the birds we always have around, and the dogs use the backyard a lot. Well, I finally can say that it's been almost two weeks and this product is still going strong. I'm getting the cat version for the cat now because she was on Revolution from the vet, but I'd rather something I can purchase at a lower price and on my own, without going to the vet. I have two dogs who get an allergic reaction really bad from just one flea bite. I have noticed that with my older dog, she is sleeping better and finally has stopped scratching. I was having to do quite a lot to ease her pain. For her, even if the flea bit her days ago, she'd still be scratching. I thought it was environmental and now I see that the allergy itchies just keep up for days after. A note about this product though. I live in Washington state. You may have a hit or miss with effectiveness depending on where you live, and how many pets you have. This one worked for me. I'm seriously overjoyed with this product. And the best part is the affordability. I have been watching the Advantage II but it was just too expensive for me with all the animals I have to dose. But this one is GREAT. None of the dogs got sick and what I reallllllly liked was that it absorbed within hours. The BioSpot stayed slimy the entire month. But Advecta had no reactions (some of our dogs are extremely sensitive) and it absorbed fast. There was no scent to it. If you have a question, feel free to ask.

My 18 year old, once feral kitten, fights off all attempts to put flea meds on her. She can smell topicals coming and hides before i can even get close to her. She fights like a banshee when i try to hold her to put any on. I ended up holding her by one leg and received 7 scratches on my hand and abdomen. She still got away, with a bunch of happy fleas , and then she doesn't trust me for weeks. This product has a cap that unscrews, so she can't smell it ahead of time like the ones where you cut off the top. I was able twice now, to put it on the back of her neck ,easy as pie, while she lays in her special place, and it works to totally kill the fleas. I noticed her scratching again, looked at the calendar and saw she was due for another dose one day after i saw that. Mission accomplished, she is so allergic to fleas, and this has let her lay in the sun in peace.

Let me first say that I did NOT receive this product free. I bought it for my three cats because none of the "better" products acted quickly and lasted. Of course, the price was attractive and I figured that if it wasn't effective, so what? It is truly amazing. Two hours after application, I saw dead fleas all over my desk, where the boys like to lounge. I am not exaggerating. I cleaned the corpses off with a Clorox wipe and have only seen a few more since then. I am sold on this product and just ordered more. I live in central Texas, where fleas thrive virtually year round. My guys are strictly indoor dwellers, but fleas attach to clothing and can multiply inside in a matter of days, despite twice weekly vacuuming. Five stars are not enough!
