The straps can cross in the back which makes baby wearing a lot more comfortable! The shoulder straps are padded and the buckles are easy. The seat can be narrow which my petite baby needed. We had a Tula free to grow and she would cry because of the wide seat.

I already have a babybjorn and a classic ergo carrier for my 3 months old. while the babybjorn worked great for the first months it is now killing my back, so i used the ergo with a waist belt, but my daughter just isn't comfy in there. as I also have an almost 2 year old I needed a good, no great, carrier for my youngest. She loves to be facing outwards for about 30- 45 min (then she needs a break from the world and wants to face inwards and usually take a nap). so doing some research I was torn between the ergo 360 and the lillebaby as they both allow the facing out position and have waist belts. luckily I finally found the beco gemini combining the best out of these two carriers! So here is why I decided for the beco (and have no regrets) - allows facing outward position in a good ergonomic way (ergo 360, lillebaby and babybjorn do too, but the babybjorn is less ergonomic. ergo classic does not) - allows to change the babys position from inward to outward or the other way without taking of the carrier, therefore without putting the baby down. This matters for me as I go for example to the zoo with both kids and have nothing but the carrier for the youngest. So obviously I can't ask my 2 year old to give me a hand to change the babys position ( ergo 360 and babybjorn allow that too, no way with the Lillebaby) - back friendly waist belt with a pocket on it (no waist belt on the babybjorn, very loud velcro waist belt on the ergo 360. Lillebaby has a nice waistbelt too and offers a pocket on the back of the baby) - relatively easy to put on and take off by myself (again think of the zoo situation) (ergos are a pain to put on and I would usually need help to close the back strap, babybjorns are the easiest to put on and take off, Lillebaby seems just as painful as the ergo) It took me about 5 attempts to figure out how to use the beco by myself, so it's not too bad - fits very small to very large people . The only carrier so far that my husband (6ft 8in) can use as well.If I wear it (5ft 7in) the leftover straps are kind of long hanging around, but I there is an elastic band on each fastener where you can hide the leftover straps once you rolled them up - I can breastfeed in the carrier (takes some practice though) - it looks good (so does the ergo 360, the lillebaby is kind of baggy looking) - the head support which can be folded down for the outfacing position is very high when folded up, giving my baby a great, adjustable head support and shade when she falls asleep on my chest (looking inward) - breathable and sunblocking 3d-mashes are perfect for the texas weather

Love this carrier! It's easy to get on and it is hip-safe. I chose this over the Lillebaby and Ergo360 because I found it easier to get on and it is less bulky. Both baby and I are small, so the fit of the Beco is more comfortable for both of us. Plus no need for an infant insert! It's true that the ultra-secure closures can be a bit of a pain to remove, but I didn't find it to be a deal-breaker. You just kind of learn how to do it, and truthfully it's nice to know that the clasps won't accidentally come undone.

Love love love this! I’ve had 2-3 other carriers (money wrap, Chicco, Ergo), and this is by far my favorite. It is so comfortable and the wide waist distributes the weight of my 20 pound son so much better. I don’t feel nearly as pulled down in the shoulder area, where the straps are wide, padded, and comfortable. I wore this through 2 busy airports at Thanksgiving and had no problems wearing it through security. I love the pattern too, and I like that it can shift to the backpack position. My only con is that the straps lock and can be a little challenging to unlock by yourself, but totally doable with practice.

As a first time mom I was inundated with choices for a baby carrier. Based upon The WireCutter recommendation and amazon reviews, I chose the Beco Gemini and LOVED it. It took just a few tries to get used to the straps (needing two hands) but the baby instantly felt secure and safe in this carrier. Now using two hands is second nature when I am by myself with baby and I am very grateful it has that added safety feature. In addition to the Beco Gemini, we tried a moby wrap and an older version of an ErgoBaby carrier (needing a newborn insert was terrible) but by far the Beco Gemini has been our number one favorite by leaps and bounds. I did have to reach out to customer service after several months of nearly daily use and they responded immediately and resolved the issue immediately. How I am treated as a customer is so important to me and it felt great that this company responded promptly with both kindness and professional attention. It definitely solidified my confidence and choice with Beco Gemini. I recommend this product whole heartily. Your back will thank you and your baby will love it!

We haven't had a chance to use the carrier yet with a child, but I am so in love with this carrier. I've tried all four ways to carry and while I'm sure a squirming baby makes it a little more difficult, the step by step instructions were very clear and the photos help. The material is a soft cotton that is very comfortable and sturdy. The pocket up front is big enough to hold my phone, a Galaxy S7, but may not accomadate the newer, bigger phones. The only let down was that the colors for the mermaid sorbet don't seem as bright or shiny as the stock photo shows. I can't wait to use this carrier with my little one.

I usually carry my babies in a sling or pouch but I felt I needed something that would wick moisture away for our hot summers in Richmond, Virginia which get in the high 90s and low 100s with high high humidity. I'm so happy with this purchase. I began using it when my son was only two weeks old and have continued- he's now three months old and 16lbs. I found in the beginning that he fit this perfectly and had no worries about whether he could breathe or not as I could easily adjust the straps to make him higher or lower depending upon where I wanted him to be. The fabric is a little rough but does not seem to bother him nor did it leave any marks on the back of his head. I find he is much cooler after removing him then when I remove him from the sling or pouch when we've been outside. I did struggle with being able to unclip the straps with the "safety feature I stretch the clasps slightly to be able to open them easier. Overall, I would recommend it- it's very comfortable.

I wanted to make sure I could use this with my plus size waste. Once I ordered I contacted the company and they sent me a belt extender free of charge. However, once I received the product i was able to use as is, which was a very pleasant surprise. I love the extra support of the cross body shoulder straps. If plus sized a looking for an awesome fitting, easy to use, safe for baby, well supportive carrier, look no further.

I absolutely love this carrier. I have been through a Tula and a Lilliebaby, and this carrier is the best! It is so light and so cool for a higher end baby carrier. I purchased because my baby was overheating in the Tula with an insert, and even in a Lilliebaby airflow as bulky as it is. I am a size 18 and it fits me just fine. I was worried about the buckles as some of the other reviews said they were challenging. I have short arms and have no problem reaching around my baby with my arm supporting his back to use two hands to undo the buckles. Having the ability to cross the back straps helps my back immensely while wearing. My friends have the originally Beco Gemini and this one is much lighter. It's very versatile giving me the ability to face outward or inward in the front carry. My little man really likes to look around in busy environments, but when we are sleepy he goes right to sleep and snuggles facing inward. My baby is small for his age at only 12lbs at 4 1/2 months old and I love that I don't have to use an insert. I do feel with a tiny newborn the panel is a bit big, but I prefer a wrap anyway. GREAT GREAT carrier! So in love!

This carrier is far cooler than the others I have tried. I run warm and baby is basically a toaster oven. We went on a 3 mile walk in this carrier at about 75 degrees and neither of us broke a sweat.
