Love love love! Works great and pits 6 cherries at once. I may need to buy a few to give as gifts.

This thing works great! I love it so much. I pitted 15 pounds of cherries with this thing and it's still going strong. My only complaint is that the handle thing you hold on to to take the cherries out was cracked upon receiving my order. Doesn't affect anything while using it, just thought I'd note. I noticed a couple other people saying the same thing. All in all a great tool if you eat a lot of cherries!

I found this to be an excellent device for pitting cherries. I have pitted thousands of cherries with it, and it worked flawlessly every time. I haven't had it for very long, so I can't really say much for how long it will last, but so far all is good with it. I will probably purchase another one in the future.

Had a ton of cherries and this worked great for me. I did break a part on the first try but that was my fault. It was the part that the fingers are touching in the picture. Oh well. I figure even if I had to buy this every year at this price and for the amount of "pitting" I had to do that was fine by me. It still works great so the function was not compromised. Would buy again.

I've read about others who were not happy with this cherry pitter, as it didn't cleanly dump the cherry pits. I, on the other hand, am overjoyed at how simply and quickly this pitter works!! Yup, you have to look under the pitter to make sure all pits are in the tray and, if not, a quick swipe with a knife takes care of it. I ALWAYS count the pits in the tray to be sure I'm not missing one but being able to pit 6 at a time is fabulous. Done in about 15 minutes or less and, voila, I have the requisite number of pitted cherries to add to my raspberries for either a pie or Jam. This beats the hell out of a straw or a fork or fingers or anything else I can think of. Buy this pitter. You won't be sorry. Clean up is a whiz. Open the parts and run under hot water and drain on a drain board. I'm keeping this for life!!!!!

Hundreds of cherries pitted and only a few misses. Some of the pits hung up on bottom of tray that were easily picked off. After a little practice this little tool whizzed thru the cherries with very little mess. Pitting cherries is a chore but this little tool is a great help.

For kitchen fanatics that likes gadgets - this has to be one of the best! I just received it and needed to try it immediately. I love fresh cherries for desserts, smoothies, fruit salads, etc., but I hate to pit them. This gadget takes all that away. You can pit 6 cherries at one time in one swift movement. So now I can go buy a bag, pit the whole thing, freeze them and use when needed - and all in a fraction of the time. I definitely recommend this gadget. Some helpful hints: 1) Use one swift movement - don't be shy. Empty the newly pitted cherries into a bowl or bag, count the pits - there should be six. I only recommend this as sometimes the noticed a pit stuck to the cherry and did not break free into the cup that catches them. Not a big deal - but you don't want pits in whatever you are doing. 2) I recommend putting some newspaper under the gadget when using. Fresh cherries are juicy and this helps with the clean up.

When I first received this, I had my doubts because the bulk of the pitter is plastic. But, after using it, I'm very satisfied with the way it performs. I was able to process 2.5 lbs. of cherries in 30 minutes ( that included going back and halving them & packaging them for later use)which beats the heck out of the nearly 2 hours it would have taken me to do it by hand with a paring knife. Yes, as some of the other reviews mentioned, you do have to watch for pits that don't completely come free of the cherry but there were relatively few of those and it's easy to take a quick peek before you empty the tray to see if there are any hanging pits. Plus, I found that if I didn't try to go supper fast when using the tool, I had fewer hanging pits. The primary reason I went with this cherry pitter over all the others was that, according to a comment in the Q&A section, it can be used on tart cherrries. When my crop comes in, I'll let you know.

I love it when a product just works like it should. I had envisioned being able to eat cherry's like i do seedless grapes, just pop them in your mouth chew and enjoy. Now i can. It only takes about 5 min to remove the pits from a pound or two of cherries, and then I'm good. Movie snack supreme! Only suggestion would be make the reservoir / catcher, a little bigger.

How did I get to be this age without this item? Total game changer! Love it. Only way it would be better is if I could do 20 at a time!
