This product is awesome for doing some basic measurements, takes the pain out of having to pull out a tape measure and all that business. It is really easy to use and functions right out of the package, also very compact and easy to carry. I would recommend these for any job that requires quick and basic measurements. I love the hold feature, simple feature but well needed when doing multiple measurements. Thanks!

Accurate to the nearest 1/16"

At first impression the unit seemed very small, I decided to measure a door opening and comparing it against my trusty tape measure, and too my surprise it was dead on! To the nearest 1/16 of an inch! I was surprised. Easy to use, love the gold button and LCD lights up plenty.

Excellent. Went with the lowest end Bosch GLM20 but very satisfied.

Home handyman.. finally bought one of these after years of fascination with the idea. Suddenly I'm measuring everything in my house and seeing how easy it is. For the price this is a great addition to my toolbox. Note that it works off of reflected laser light, so it's more appropriate in cases where both ends of the distance being measured face each other (like opposite walls or inside a window frame). It's still easy to measure flat things, for example, by holding an object at the end of a coffee table for the laser to hit.

A Must Have For Home Buyers or Any Quick Measures

The Bosch GLM 20 laser measure is an awesome tool for anyone that needs to quickly measure a room or length of any sort. Particularly, it's useful for those looking to buy a home or find a new apartment since it can quickly measure rooms and door to determine if your new space will fit your things. Similarly, it's great when looking to put new things in a space you already have (re: will that great new sofa or TV fit in your space). Highly recommended.

This is the best toy that I have ever bought for work and ...

This is the best toy that I have ever bought for work and play. I take this with me on buying trips. I use it to arrange and rearrange rooms and furniture...and even walls and windows. Slip this into my purse and I am set to measure just about anything. No more tape measures flinging back onto my hands or head. No more need for someone else to hold the tape. Pulling it out of my purse and using it in front of the construction crew does, however, draw laughs. I cannot imagine how I ever got along without it.

I won't go back to old tape measures!

I'm a kitchen and bath designer and this is my new favorite way to measure a client's home! You go into a house and they have junk, kitchen appliances, decorations, etc. all over their countertops and you have duck and dodge around all kinds of stuff to get a measurement... which is probably not correct because of it. This laser measure helps with ALL of those issues. If you have a direct line of sight - you can get an accurate measurement with one click. I even had a contractor question my measurements when he saw me using this one day. He pulled out his metal tape, fumbled with it when he measured, and said, "What did you get?" When I verified the measurement, he raised his eyebrows as if he were impressed and just nodded as if to say "wow... didn't expect that!" I highly recommend this to anyone who has to measure interiors accurately! I LOVE this and highly recommend it!

Extremely accurate! I was a little hesitant to get into the "laser tape measure" game, but I am so glad that I decided to do so! I now own several of these Bosch laser tape measures and they are phenomenal at taking accurate measurements... Makes a finish carpenter's job or framer or drywall or tilers job so much easier!

Accurate, very easy to use.

Amazon is lumping the reviews for the GLM15 ("Basic Unit") and GLM20 together. This review is for the GLM20. IN USE: This laser measure is very simple to use: simply turn it on and it gives real-time measurements. Press the button once (it only has one button) and it will hold that measurement. Press the button again, and it will give new real-time measurements while still displaying the previous measurement. I prefer this to my Stanley laser measure, which requires you to press the button twice to take a measurement. The measurements are taken from the rear edge of the tool so, for example, you can hold it against a wall and measure the distance to another wall. ACCURACY: I tested it at 2 feet and 6 feet against a tape measure, and it was right on the button both times. I also tested it against itself, taking repeated measurements of the same distance, and it gave identical results every time. ERGONOMICS: This Bosch is smaller and lighter than my Stanley, and it fits nicely in the hand. See pic for sizing. OTHER FEATURES: auto shut-off (after five minutes); switchable unit of measure (feet & inches, inches only, or meters); backlit display; batteries included. CONS: This Bosch doesn't do any calculations (area, volume, differences between distances, etc.). If you want those features, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Easy to use and accurate!

I'm a real estate agent. This little gadget rocks!!!! I wish I had found this sooner. So easy to use. I have owned several others and they were either difficult to use or not accurate.

Great Little Device

As a real estate appraiser this little measuring tape is great. I had an older one that was much more bulky and had a lot of features that I never used. This one is simple and is all I need to measure the inside and outsides of a house. It's nice and small and slips into my top shirt pocket. Only issue is that it does not come with a case!
