easy for a first timer

This is the first time I have used one of these and it was super simple to use. I wish I would have looked and seen it DOES NOT come with the tube. The ones that do come with the whole set up are a couple dollars more. now I have to spend more money to get the complete set. Otherwise it was a good buy.

Math is done for you!

We watched all kinds of videos from the YouTube channel CitySteading and decided we were ready to make our first mead. We used their recommendation link to this hydrometer. We have used it a handfull of times already and appreciate that the numbers are separated by what type of wine you might get based on the sugar content (I.e a moscato, sweet wine etc) it's like the math is done for you! The case is solid plastic and closes well and keeps the hydrometer nice and safe.

Simple to Use - Making Rhubarb Wine

I wasn't sure I needed a hydrometer for making home brew Rhubarb wine for fun but a lot of the chat out on the internet recommended it. I have been guessing for the past three years - this year I will really get it right. Easy to read, easy to store. I am happy!

Excellent

I lost one of these recently and bought two to replace it. These hydrometers work great and are easy to ready. Delivery ended up being a day earlier than expected and was able to address a brewing issue quicker than planned.

Quality unit packaged well

This is a precision tool that does its job well. It comes packaged in a sturdy plastic case with foam pads at both ends and in the middle. There is a set of indentations that helps the top of the case "click" into place, so it stays on. Combine this with a quality test jar and you have a great setup for your home brewing, winemaking, or distilling.

Works really well and easy to read

Really easy to use, clearly labeled hydrometer, it has estimates when first measuring for about how much alcohol to expect when the fermentation is finished. The color sections let you know what the finished product should be (wine/beer) which is a nice touch. Solid hard plastic case has enough give you could likely step on the box and not break the box though I wouldn't do that with the hydrometer inside.

QC'd out at Zero!

I bought 2 of these hydrometers in the hopes that one would QC out at zero. I hate having to remember to do a correction when using them. Both of these QC'd as accurate! I QC'd 2 other brands and they did not. Brewer's Elite will be my go to brand when I drop another carboy on one! The numbers are easy to read and I like the color coding. The case is also a bonus. Great protection and it is easy to get the hydrometer out of the case.

well, I haven't used it yet, but my last batch of wine decorked because I corked too soon.. I hope this will help me know when fermentation is done!
