This is high quality and heavy duty hardware and was well packaged. Would definitely buy this again! Exactly what we needed to hang our home made custom barn door. Instructions are included but triple check all of your measurements. Pre-drilled holes on rail are 16 inches on center and we highly recommend you find and mark your studs on wall to be sure the holes line up as we know, not all builders make studs exactly 16" on center. We made a mock up of the rail placement on the wall with painters tape and it was a great help to avoid any mistakes when installing rail on wall. We had to cut a little off the 8 foot rail due to our wall width and we did re-drill one hole because of our stud locations. AGAIN, using the painters tape mock up made it clear as to exactly where we needed to drill, etc. Great product, will be buying again for our next door were making!

Great price, great buy!

Could not be happier! The item was heavy duty quality and works perfect! Easy to slide open and absolutely would purchase another for my next door. Directions were easy to follow. Had to drill additional holes to match my studs because of where I needed the track. Measurements took some time but worth it to make sure everything lined up.

Excellent quality, beautiful look.

Wonderful product. Looks really great and didn't take a rocket scientist to install. My favorite feature of this sliding door hardware is what it isn't...it doesn't sound like dragging a barn door open, it's almost silent and you can move the door easily with one finger (although we added a handle) !! It fits perfectly against the wall with enough space for the light switch. We didn't want to drill a hole in our new hardwood floors so we did not use the floor guide that came with it but, purchased one that was wall mounted instead. The best part about this product from my husband's point of view is that it was about 1/3 of the cost of buying the hardware at Home Depot or Lowe's and looks super. All of our neighbors are now jealous of our new laundry room entrance and want barn doors themselves. I recommend that they spend time comparison shopping on Amazon to find good quality hardware like this that doesn't break the bank.

Well made, easy to install, looks great!

I purchased the 8 FT kit plus the set for an extra door. Got two standard doors at Home Depot, and painted them. It looks awesome. My wife loves it, and that's really all that matters. The set is made of good quality. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. There is an error in the instructions: the wood screws need a 5/16 hole only and the door needs a 3/8 hole, they are mixed up. Just take a look before drilling. I installed these in a wall that did not follow the standard rule of one wood stud every 16" so I had to use a stud finder, mark them, and then drilled new holes in the rail, which was not a problem. It took a couple hours to compete the whole project, and I spent probably under $300 including the doors and paint. We are really happy with it and would recommend it.

Quality Barn Door Hardware at a Great Price

This turned out to be a surprisingly great purchase. Most of the barn door hardware sold on other sites is in the hundreds of dollars, and a second set of hangers is twice as much as this entire set. The quality is very good, the instructions are simple and easy to follow, and the hardware looks very nice. The rollers are quiet and smooth. It's basic, yes, but it's exactly what we needed. Nothing about this set feels cheap. I built two sets of sliding shutters for some windows and purchased two sets of SmartStandard hardware to hang them. I couldn't be more pleased with the hardware.

Excellent quality, looks nice and reasonably priced.

I built my husband a barn door for his man cave for Christmas and used this hardware kit to hang the door. The door i built was 49"×82" and 1.5" thick at the edges so it was pretty heavy and needed a good rail to hold it. I think this rail is rated for up to 250 lb door. I opted to install a header board into the studs then mount the rail on the header board. (Also the rail is predrilled so if you have an older house the holes may not line up exactly with the spacing of your wall studs.) Using a header board worked out great, the door is well supported. It looks nice, and complements the door wood. The door glides smoothly on the rollers and the track stops have rubber cushions so the door opens and closes softly. I did not like the floor guide thats included because you have to groove the bottom of the door for it to work. This was not a good option for the way i constucted my door. I would recommend picking up a wheel floor guide, it works out so much better and theres no need to groove the door or drill into your flooring.

Exceeded Expectations! Incredible Value For The Price

Delighted before even opening the box. Such careful packaging rarely found these days and especially an 8 ft. long box. It was sealed in heavy plastic, banded with nylon straps in 6 places and all the box edges were sealed with tape. These are all non breakage items but packaged like they were Ming vases. Everything down to the plastic wall anchors are encased in either a plastic tray or individual boxes. You almost feel guilty disturbing such intricate packaging. The rollers and straps were much heavier and larger than the pictures indicate - a big, big plus for hanging a 4 ft. wide door. At this price I was expecting something thin and flimsy. I can't wait to get the door built.

We couldn't be happier

I couldn't be happier with this! I've been wanting to build a barn door for a while and finding the hardware was the biggest stress. We finally found this and we couldn't be happier. Great price and it really wasn't that hard to install, but two people is definitely helpful. After It came, I went to making my barn door. I would buy more if I could!! And will if I find another reason to!

Great Price, Sturdy, and Easy To Install!

We recently had a new deck built for our house with a large storage area beneath that we wanted to keep hidden. After looking around and finding some very pricey barn door hardware, I found these on Amazon for about 1/4 the price. I was a little leery, but the reviews were so positive, I had to try them out … and was not disappointed! They arrived quickly, all well-marked in separate boxes with straight forward instructions. I combined two 10' wide kits to create a 20' long rail that two larger horizontal doors could run on. Each kit has two 5' rails that bolt together to make the full 10', but what I didn't expect was that each end of the rails had holes already drilled so I could connect them all together (with a steel strap I purchased separately). Saved me some work! I ordered handles and floor guides with the rail and hangers kits, and was just as happy with the quality. They all are sturdy and look classy, and at a great price. Can't recommend them enough!

Heavy Duty on a Budget

This is some fairly heavy duty hardware! I was hesitant to purchase due to it's low price, but the other reviewers swayed me to purchase this set. Im glad I did. Installation went smoothly and the directions weren't too difficult to understand. My door didn't go to the ground, so I had purchase the wall mount door guides seperately. i went with the "J" hook type and cut a 1/4" W x 3/4" deep dado into the bottom of the door, after it was hung and I was able to see the gap between back of the door, from top to bottom, relative the face of the door frame that I made. The smoothness of the slide far exceeded my expectations.
