We have been using this rice cooker about twice a week since we bought it. My only disappointment is when you try to steam vegetables or cook meat while the rice is cooking the steam tray is fairly shallow. I have a big family (7 of us total) and we make about 3-4 cups to supplement dinners. It is reliable and easy to clean. The inner tray is labeled to help you measure correctly. The scoop is a 3/4 cup so if you ever lose it just remember for the future so your rice to water ratio isn’t wrong. Rice is always moist (doesn’t make a dry rice).

Great rice cooker! We've used this almost everyday since it arrived a few weeks ago. We've cooked both white and brown rice, and both have turned out well. My favorite feature is the warmer after the rice cooks, so if the other parts of the meal aren't finished yet, the rice stays warn without getting dried out or burnt.

My wife is Filipina. She tells me that rice is a must if you are Filipino...lol. She uses this thing about every other day and she loves it. It cooks rice to perfection, and this leaves you to go do other things. I like the fact that it adjusts itself once the cooking is done, so that the rice stays near perfect on warm until it is time to eat.

Been using this cooker for almost 2 years now, and it still works really well. Make sure you don't lose the instructions (or take pictures of them so you have a digital copy) since learning how to cook a different type of rice may be confusing if you've been cooking one type most of the time.

Bought this after my 20 year old Oster fell off my counter and broke. I love this rice cooker. I have not tried to cook cereal or steam anything, but it does a great job cooking medium grain rice.

This couldn't have been any easier to use. I have close to zero culinary skills and used this for the first time the other day. Filled the provided cup with rice 6x and put it in the pot. Filled the pot to the #6 line. Pressed the "Select Mode" button once to put it on white rice (for my white Jasmine rice). It automatically started cooking 5 seconds later and beeped once it was done in 45 minutes. The rice came out perfectly. Have not tried other types of rice with it yet, but this turned out better than any other experiments I've had in the kitchen.

This Hamilton Beach rice/cereal cooker seems exactly like the one I had to throw out ... but seems to have a couple more features. The old one still worked, but I ruined the outside of the cooking basket by putting it in the dishwasher, a mistake I hopefully will not repeat with this one. I purchased 6/2017-ish and have made a batch of rice so far, but haven't tried the cereal. What is unusual are the directions, which contradict the directions and the ratio or rice to water that's found on my bag of rice. The cooker's directions say to rinse the rice, which I guess I've read other places but never did. Long story short, I used the cooker's directions (more like 3/4 c of rice rather than 1 cup to 2 cups water). They don't actually give a specific oz measure for water -- just fill to the line in the pot. Their example is if you put 3 cups of rice in the pot, fill with water to the "3 line." Sounds more complicated than it is. Just whatever way you want will work I'm sure. I rinsed the rice (unit with the small hole insert basket) and used the amount of water suggested and have to say the rice turned out exceptionally well, better than any in the past. I'm not sure if it was rinsing the rice that did it or what variable changed. The rice was still somewhat sticky, which is how I prefer it. The unit cleaned up great and the removable soft plastic ring on the inside of the cover was easily removed to clean and easy to put back in place as well.

I love this little rice cooker. It also is great for beans and other grains. I use it weekly.

Truth be told, I switched over to this from what has to have been one of the worst rice cookers in history, so I imagine just about anything would have been an upgrade. The important thing to note here is that my boyfriend, whose pickiness knows no bounds, thinks that this is fantastic. He's the guy to spend a hundred and fifty bucks on a top quality pair of pants (which is, I'll admit, better than spending minimal money on lots of things that fall apart in four months; his pants last him years and years), so he was hesitant to spend forty bucks on this -- But even he admits that he doesn't regret it, so that's as good as five stars from him haha. Pros: - Whatever we put in this cooks perfectly. It hasn't burned on us once. Doesn't matter if we load the rice (or quinoa) with frozen/fresh veggies, put in salsa, add spices, it all turns out just right. - It is so, so easy to clean. If we pull all the rice out immediately, there's nothing to scrub off the sides save for some rice residue. If we leave the rice in until it's cold - which we try not to do - it does end up with some hard bits stuck to it that are harder to remove. Cons: - Nothing yet? We've only had it for a few months, so we haven't found any negatives. Either way, I'd absolutely recommend this! I plan on cooking soup in it here soon, so hopefully that goes as well as the rice has.

works perfect as advertised, and very easy to clean and use, i bought to do ALL my cooking due i have dementia and cant be trusted to use the stove/oven anymore, the programmable feature allows me to set a cooking time and it turns off completely when done, so far have cooked perfect hamburgers in it, they dont brown but so juicy and favorable this way, even melts cheese on top to perfection, cooked bacon and hard boiled eggs for breakfast in 8 minutes, so versatile will cook anything (just doesnt brown like frying or baking) - love this cooker and very happy with it
