Nice pack of generic components
First off, the components included are not very high quality. That being said, I just recieved the second kit I ordered. The R3 itself, feels solid. Nice solder points, quality board, the quality statement was not written about the board. The breadboard on the other hand feels very cheap. The resistors are nicely seperated, but quality was not their strong point. None of these components are top of the line, but that's the reason all of this can be sold for this cheap. It's an amazing assortment for someone getting into arduino/getting back into electronics without having to hunt out a bunch of random parts. After I played with the first kit, I bought a second for an extra R3 and more parts. No regrets. Great for prototyping, great for tinkering. The instruction manual it comes with was kind of a let down at the beginning, the first few pages tell you what you're doing, then suddenly drops into "copy the given code into the IDE, set up your breadboard like this, and you're done". I guess I was expecting teaching the whole way through, but you can't walk around the Internet without tripping over PDFs teaching arduino programming and analog circuits if you're into this sort of thing. And the manual is nice for when you just need a quick setup because you don't know how a specific part works. I'd recommend this unless you already have a bunch of parts already laying around. If/when I need another arduino like item, I might even get one more of these.

Fantastic starter kit for learners and teachers
The main board is really nice. It's a clone of the Arduino UNO design, and it's done right. The board is nicely laid out, and Elegoo put their own branding on it, and have improved the product from previous iterations. They clearly take pride in their product and their brand. The rest of the components follow the same path, having a good cross-section of sensors, inputs, and effectors. They are easy to put together, and demonstration sketches are included. This is good for someone wanting to begin learning electronics as well as microcontrollers. It includes a good sample of resistors, though they use very small gauge leads, and the breadboard doesn't always hold them tightly. I got this for my girlfriend to learn electronics, and it was enough to build some simple oscillators just from the components included. I heartily recommend this to anyone who wants to learn (or teach) electronics and microcontrollers.

Great Starter Kit
I started an online course in Arduino and purchased this because of the price and the boat load of the electronics needed for the course. I didn't expect this kit to build a robot or a permanent device, but to give me a broad overall start which ever way I end-up going. Halfway through the course and I only needed one sensor not in the package. Looking ahead, everything else is covered with extra parts not even used. The whole kit comes in a nice, clear plastic case. All the components are well put together and I haven't had to solder anything for them to work. The bread board is huge compared to what is used in the online course. There are extra LEDs and resistors which are the most common items that I have used in multiple course projects. There are at least two of most of the small bits and they are in their own smaller case that fits in the larger, which is nice. With so much in the case it isn't always easy to find a particular sensor or to get everything back in. There is a insert in the lid that lists the parts with a picture to identify it. I did check the CD and my copy had all the source code, IDE, and sensor libraries. No searching the internet to find those. In 15 minutes of opening the case, I had blinking LEDs with my first project. The main Arduino board is 3/4 the size of a deck of cards and seems to work like a champ. Everything is clearly marked on it and plugs are tight. So far this has been a great starter kit for me and my son is right behind me waiting his turn with it.

Great kit for beginers and pros!
This kit is perfect for an Arduino beginner such as myself, as I have never messed with Arduino before. It was very well thought out and packaged, I only wish there was a hard copy book instead of the .PDF on the CD. In one day I built all the examples given in the book and even learned enough to start mixing the examples together and modify them. This kit actually has me excited enough that I think this will be a new hobby for me and I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone else that is a beginner and interested in micro-controllers. I would also highly recommend getting a book with this kit like I did, it helps allot more then just the information in this kit alone. Programming Arduino: Getting Started with Sketches, Second Edition (Tab) This book will teach you a ton and doesn't assume that you have prior programming experience. But this Complete Starter Kit does have more then enough by itself to get you started. This has a great selection of quality sensors to get you going too as well as some great starter output devices. If you plan on getting started with Arduino definitely get this kit!

Awesome kit!
An outstanding value! All components are very sturdy and solders look clean and strong. My son and I went through most of the canned example projects over several weekends. Hours of high quality bonding time, where both of us got our first exposure to micro-controllers and coding. All sample projects are super simple to set up, and all of them work great. While understanding how the C code works is beyond my forte, it was till plenty fun to make small tweaks to some parameters in the code and watch what happens. My son has already asked me to get the robot car kit ... project for father's day!! The kit that I first received had a few items missing so we couldn't complete a few of the projects. My son kept bugging me to get the missing parts, and I kept procrastinating for about 3 months, and almost gave up contacting Amazon thinking it was too late and past the window of no-return. On a whim I emailed the Elegoo (the manufacturer). I was very pleased to get a prompt reply explaining that Amazon had probably sent me a returned item. And promptly, Elegoo shipped me a brand new kit at their own expense, even though it was Amazon's mistake. Really outstanding customer service!

Awesome and incredibly convenient.
Item came in an organizing case; that was awesome and incredibly convenient. Kit is fantastic for an intro to Arduino. My only complaints: 1. The Relay: you have to bend a pin on it to fit it in the breadboard. NO way around it. The pin on mine is gonna break after only messing with it a few times. Would be nice if it came pre-mounted on a tiny PCB or something, like some of the other components. 2. L293D chip is bad. Has trouble operating motor. Will only run motor in one direction, and it barely works doing that. 3. My thermistor (even after using a completely different code) reads my 70F (21C) living room as -3F (-19C). It's completely useless. Update!!!!: Spoke with company. They immediately put new replacement parts in the mail. They even hooked me up with a few more breadboard wires. Just got them all yesterday. Still pretty happy about the entire kit. 10/10 would recommend. Regardless, its still worth it.

A pretty sweet all around kit for any arduino user, especially great for beginners!
An excellent kit for beginners and also experienced Arduino users. Comes with an enormous variety of parts in a fairly nice little case which keeps everything organized and also a link to the Elegoo website where you can download an example code and project file which has great practice code for beginners. This is by far one of the lowest prices you can find for a kit of this size, all components and sensors are made primarily in China but I have yet to encounter any issues with functionality. The boards themselves and other components are fairly nice quality, which surprised me for the price. The microcontroller board itself is not an Arduino branded one but an Elegoo version of it as mentioned, which works exactly the same.

Amazing Value and a Ton of Fun!
I was looking for an Arduino clone starter kit and considered many options. I’m an Electrical Engineer with 15+ years experience designing, manufacturing and testing space flight electrical hardware for satellites. I have a very high standard for quality and was hesitant to purchase this kit due to its low price and my fears that it would be total junk. However, I figured the price was so darn low that even if it turned out to be junk, it wouldn’t be a huge waste. Wow, am I glad I bought this! First, the set arrives in a very useful organizer. I found this to be a really nice feature and helps save time when searching for parts to build each different project. Upon initial inspection, the quality of each component appeared very acceptable. Definitely low-quality parts — as you’d rightfully expect at this price point — but certainly no where near “junk” quality. By low-quality, I’m referring to mostly the solder quality, but also the individual piece-parts used in the assemblies are your standard Chinese low-grade parts. Some soldered parts were installed misaligned and some PCB assemblies still had visible contamination on them from inadequate washing. Again, this is all to be expected at this price point and so far, I was very pleased. The real test is if everything worked... I completed all the tutorials and found the instructions very easy to follow. A CD is included in the kit, which supposedly contains all the required software, tutorials and datasheets. My laptop doesn’t have a CD ROM drive so I downloaded everything on the Elegoo website. That’s probably the best option anyway — that way, you know you are using the latest versions of everything. The datasheets were a nice-to-have, although some of them were not as detailed as they should be. Still useful nonetheless. The tutorial manual was clearly written — it’s definitely not poorly translated Chinese-to-English like I expected. It’s entirely written in clear English. In some places, I wish it did a better job explaining the code and syntax, but honestly, that’s something Google can handle. Every tutorial was completed easily and I only discovered one technical mistake: the tutorial on DC motor control omitted a groung jumper between the Arduino board and the breadboard/motor controller board. Consequently, the control signal logic levels were not correctly referenced to the same ground potential on both boards. The motor did not respond correctly at first but some quick troubleshooting lead me to add the ground connection and everything worked flawlessly after that. I’ve tested every component in the kit now and everything works as intended. I’m a little bit surprised at this but very, VERY happy. This kit has been a ton of fun to play with. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to get started with Arduinos. It has so many different cool components that this will keep you entertained and get your creative juices flowing. I highly recommend it!

Excellent starter kit!
I am really pleased with this kit! I did quite a bit of research before I picked this kit, and I'm pretty happy with my choice. The tutorials are clear, work well, and the sample code is well documented. The parts all appear pretty quality considering the quantity and variety. The storage containers work well, and bring out the collector in me (ha ha). I will add that I have a degree in computer science, so it's hard for me to say of the programming parts of the tutorials would be helpful for a beginner, but the hardware side of things was easy enough for me to follow as a novice. If you're looking for a starter kit for Arduino, this is definitely the one to buy.

More than what I expected, Inexpensive, Very Very Educational.
This kit is a GREAT and inexpensive alternative to buying an expensive arduino kit. Any one who is interested in learning about micro controllers and how they work should get this kit.The product comes with a CD which has PDF lessons, libraries and code. There are some issues with the PDF tutorials. I just don't want beginners to get discouraged if the programs are not working properly. If you have a problem, go online, and find a solution pretending what you got in your hand is a Arduino Uno, not a Elegoo Uno. The programs, code, projects are all similar. It always worked for me. I have found some issues with lesson 32, and would like to give people some feedback. Lesson 32 Issues: There is a arduino file named "With_Remote" in the Lesson 32 folder. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CW it really means Rotate Counter Clockwise. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CCW it really means Rotate Clockwise. Also, in order for the project to work the way it is supposed to, you will need to push the "VOL+" and "VOL-" buttons on the remote control. (There are no UP and DOWN buttons on the remote control , as mentioned in the code comments.) Lastly, if you are getting a "'TKD2' was not declared" compiler error ( you will know what i mean when you see it ) , you will need to go to C Drive > x86 > Arduino > libraries > RobotIRremote > src. After clicking on the folder named src you will see 2 files named IRremoteTools.cpp and IRremoteTools.h. Cut these 2 files and paste them somewhere else ( on your desktop for example). These files conflict with other files in the Arduino library and dont let Lesson 32 work the way it is meant to work. Just dont delete them permanently!! You might need them later. I will post more updates on the kit as time passes.
