Are you wondering if this little unit will be strong enough? I was. I can assure you this has more than enough "power". I can barely tolerate anything above 6. The are two modes designed for sensitive areas that you could go higher. I've had chronic back pain for 30 years and had a recent flare-up. Like many, when looking for relief I've tried just about everything. This actually worked. I'm not healed, but it has reduced the tension in my back with continued use. AAA+++

I got it just today and I used it for a good hour. It came fully charged and the battery is holding very well. I'm not too impressed with the user manual it came with. It says it has 16 modes but frankly I couldn't figure out all the modes yet. Also, there is no real explanation of what the six different main options are and three of them does not seem to do anything. That being said, it is a powerful little machine. I could only crank it up to level 4 before it becomes painful. It sure felt good on my aching shoulder and even on my index finger. UPDATE: After I posted this review, the manufacturer contacted me and sent me an updated manual which is much clearer. I therefore upgraded my star review to the maximum. :)

I have a bad knee, honestly I should probably get a full knee replacement, but sadly I am far too poor. Simply walking around is excruciating, so I have used a couple of different things to help with my pain, TENS therapy has worked the best. The problem is that because I have to keep it on at all times in order to simply walk, I burn through them fairly fast. One of the things that drew me to this is the fact that it's rechargeable, thus saving me from having to constantly buy batteries, and oh my god, does it hold the charge. For the first full 2 days after I got it (fully charged), I didn't have to recharge it once. It holds a charge literally for days, while being on almost the entire time. I can see the complaints of it being "too powerful" as being a very minor complaint, because there are literally more than a dozen different settings, each with their own power settings. If it's too powerful, you're probably trying to use a setting that is stronger as a baseline. Additionally due to the ability to "lock" the remote, I don't have to worry about accidentally changing my settings while I'm walking around (a serious problem with every other TENS I've used). The fact that you can set the timer for an hour, and even change it while it's on, means that I don't have to let it turn off and then restart it, just to enjoy the pain relief. Honestly if I did have one single complaint, it would be that when the TENS turns off, you have to go through the settings to get things set up exactly how I want them again. The pads, the larger ones are honestly a little on the "small" side, but more than powerful enough that their relative size is of minor consequence. I haven't used the smaller pads, but one thing I did notice is that the connectors are "universal" meaning that all you have to do is find some large pads that you like, and you can make them work with no problem. (On a side note, I found out that the pads from the IcyHot TENS actually fits the connectors that come with the Kedsum, though I haven't bothered to try and see if those massive pads would actually work) The cords are thick, but not bulky. This is actually a really good thing for someone like me, because my last TENS had an issue with the cords burning out on me, and since they used a propitiatory cord, you couldn't even replace it when they inevitably burnt out. These cords are significantly better. In addition they are universal adaptable so just based on my own investigation, it should be quite easy to get new cords if needed. Beyond that the customer service from the company has been beyond acceptable. After having the TENS for about a week I had not bothered leaving any notifications of any sort, and the company contacted me, to make sure that everything was working as intended. I have had no complaints, and yet they wanted to see if there was anyway that they could make my experience even better. It's a minor thing, but that's kind of awesome from where I'm sitting. Especially considering the last TENS I used had serious service problems and the company absolutely refused to acknowledge any of my problems, taking weeks just to answer basic questions, and dismissing any concerns I had. Honestly I can't think of anything else at this point, but I really can't help but sing the praises of this little machine. TENS therapy is the best thing for my pain, and this unit helps my pain in ways that no other TENS unit I've had does. I walk around with absolutely no pain at all, unlike other units, where while they help control the worst of the pain, I still feel it.

If I could give any higher than 5, I would. This unit is great. I only received it yesterday, and already it is helping with the arthritis in my knee. Today I even wore it while doing things around the house, because it is portable. I would very highly recommend it.

I purchased this for my mother who suffers from chronic nerve pain, arthritis pain, and has several herniated and dislocated discs in her cervical vertebrae. Needless to say, she's in almost constant pain, and there's not a lot out on the market sans surgery (which we're waiting on) to help her with the pain. Her sister suffers from similar neck issues, though to a lesser degree, and mentioned some TENS unit she'd purchased at Sam's Club a few weeks back - my mother borrowed it, and it helped a surprising amount. I was skeptical on the price, seeing as it was significantly cheaper than the others, but I figured I'd give it a try after reading the dozens of other positive reviews. It's miles better than the one my mother tried, and for less than half the price. The fact that it's also FDA-approved is apparently a huge deal, because there's a lot of them out there that are being mass produced for profit, which I only recently found out about by doing a little research. Tl;dr: Incredible value, and it's quite strong for the price. It easily beats other TENS units ranging from double to triple it's price, with more functionality and easily-navigated interface. I'll certainly purchase again if the first one ever goes out (going on day three without needing to charge, with regular 1-2 hour uses daily). Very good product.

This little remote setup is simply amazing! It feels so good and works so well you won't want to take it off. There is a cycle that the remote will take you through, ranging from low to mid to high frequency, then back down again. It's really wonderful to be able to place the pads anywhere you need them. The pre-gelled pads are reusable as long as the gel holds out. There are new pads included in the box. It's also nice that the wires snap onto the pads, unlike those commonly sold over the counter. I would definitely suggest this as a great solution to back pain, both to family and friends, and also to anyone I see shopping for an over-the-counter unit. It works so well!

My old TENS unit, purchased with my insurance over 5 years ago, was a great way to help ease my back pain. I continued to purchase the pads (which were pretty pricey), but the unit did help, and I was happy to pay for them. Unfortunately the unit bit the dust a few months ago. Replacement was out of the question because insurance wouldn't pay for another one, and the cost was way too high (over $2,000) to pay out of pocket. My husband saw this unit one online and suggested I give it a try. I didn't think it could possibly help as much as my original TENS unit, but it was so much less expensive than replacing my original TENS unit that I decided to give it a try. To my great surprise, it is a great replacement! It runs a LONG time on a charge (sometimes all day long), and recharges pretty quickly. It's much smaller than my other unit, and fits easily in my pocket so that no one has to know I'm using it at work. I recently recommended it to a friend, and he was very pleased also. I have already ordered replacement pads, which are much less expensive than the ones I bought for my original TENS unit. Too bad the old ones don't work on the new unit! I HIGHLY recommend this as a low-cost pain management tool, but suggest you confer with your physician before purchasing, especially if you've never tried a TENS unit before.

I love this little machine. It's performance exceeded my expectations. My daughter borrowed it and purchased her own the very next day. The only downside is that, once activated, the screen times out after a few minutes and you cannot "wake" it simply by touching the screen. You must press a button to wake it. This results in you either changing the intensity or the mode. If the change is undesirable, you must reset the device.

About a decade ago the chiropractor I saw for my lower back issues introduced me to TENS and I loved it, but I hesitated to purchase a unit myself to use at home. I wasn’t sure how well the small units available on Amazon would work, and the low cost made me wonder how long it would last. I injured my back the other day, so I bought this. Wow! This unit is very small, and fits in the palm of my hand, but I can only turn it up about half way on the many different settings. It packs a great punch. My lower back pain was immediately relieved, and instead of a throbbing pain it now feels just a bit tender. I texted my mother, and recommended that she purchase this same unit to use with her back and shoulder pain. The price can’t be beat, and may save on trips to the chiro as well. Works. It arrived fully charged, and after hours of me playing around with it the batter is still full. Try it.

I bought this for my dad for father's day (because he is the man that has everything he wants and never asks for anything). I knew he had been having some pain in his shoulder because my mom was talking to me about it. Let me tell you...this product has helped him tremendously in such a short period of time. My boyfriend and I we were over my parent's house over the weekend and he has been having some pain in his lower back so my dad said, "try this" (referring to the tens unit) and my boyfriend fell in love with it! So, guess I'll be buying another one! I highly recommend this product! Oh and I am a nurse...so please take me at my word!
