The best starter set on Amazon
This is the best tool kit for the asking price on Amazon, better than the Tamiya starter set by leaps and bounds. The side cutters are not the best quality, but are comfortable to hold and cut very well while sharp, however I suspect they will dull quickly. They are a good first pair for beginners and will last until you decide to upgrade to a nicer pair. The Tamiya set only includes one set of flimsy angled tweezers. The 2 tweezers, angled and straight, are very pointy and have a quality heft to them. The screwdrivers are nice and long with good handles, well suited to smaller jobs like gunpla. The pen knife is very nice, smaller blade than xacto and a very comfortable tapered handle. It is very comfortable in the hand. Included are a small vial of replacement blades, they look like snapped off sections of a retractable box cutter blade, which coincidentally comes with the Tamiya set. Personally I find that type unsuited to modeling due to the blade not locking in place. Three files are included, a flat, a rounded and an angled. These coupled with the sanding sticks (6 different grits!) will ensure no gate nubs remain on your finished kit. The last inclusion is a humble piece of yellow plastic with angled edges. No one understands it's true purpose, but you will find it indispensable on the journey you will soon embark upon. Hold it fast against your breast, for it is the only thing that will keep you safe when the horrors come to call. Heed my warning or ye be lost to the darkness. Like I said though, it's a great set.

Great kit for beginners
This toolkit is a great all-around set of tools for those looking to start building model kits. It includes: - Three metal files of differing shapes/angles - Three sanding boards of differing grit levels - Two tweezers (bent and straight) - One hobby knife plus refill blades - Part separator - Two screwdrivers (phillips, flathead) - One pair of clippers - Plastic case The clippers are not the greatest, and I've noticed a slight dulling after just three HG kits, but they're far from being obsolete. The three sanding boards come in three perfect grit levels for me. Since they're unlabeled, I don't know exactly what number they are, but they're a nice selection of coarse, medium and fine grit that work well getting rid of those nubs and seams. The knife is comfortable, and has a textured grip to prevent slipping. The blades are easily swappable, and I was well into work on my third kit before I had to swap one. generally find the metal files to be too coarse for my needs and preferences, and tend to only use them in rare instances. The tweezers are really nice, with very thin tips to get into small crevices. Of course, I mostly just use them for sticker application. The part separator is one of those items I thankfully haven't had to use more than once or twice so far, but worked very well. I haven't used the screwdrivers at all yet, but they don't seem particularly remarkable in any way - good, or bad. The plastic case is nice but I wish it were a little bigger. It fits all of the included items just fine, but doesn't leave much room for anything else you may want to add. The only reason I may suggest going with a different kit over this one might be to get one that includes a cutting mat, but you can pick one of those up separately..

Perfect for the job
Included almost everything I needed to get started building not only gundams, but also a perfect starter kit for the automobile models I have collected over the years and never had time to properly build. The case was a nice touch... I have had problems losing important tools over the years, so this case will keep my main tools together and right at my disposal. I was also quite pleased with the price. Before buying "Gundam Modeler Basic Tools Craft Set" I had several of the items it includes individually added to my cart. The total price was going to be around $60.00 for all the tools (name brand) sold individually The money I saved allowed me to purchase 2 additional Gundam build kits and some more supplies to make my builds look even more battle ready.

Great starter kit for the price
This is a great little starter kit for fine scale modeling. I’m getting back into the hobby after a number of years and needed to rebuild my tool kit and this little guy was a really good place to start. The pen knife is my favorite part of it too. Great quality and is easy to hold. The sprue cutters work great and are a good size for any scale model you might work on. The three grinding sticks are handy and you use the three sanding sticks immediately. I didn’t plan on using the clear box it came in but found it to be more useful than I had thought. There’s other good kits out there but for the price this is a great place to start.

Such a cool set to have.
A great set to have for the beginning modeler. The nips are sharp and the hinge is still tight after 14 models. The tweezers are terrific! The sanding sticks are coarse, medium and ultra-fine; you probably won't need anything but the medium. The knife body is plastic, not metal, but it gets the job done and comes plenty extra tiny modeling blades. I even used the decal-applicator to flatten decals, you'd be amazed how well they turn out!

SO glad this set came with a part separator
SO glad this set came with a part separator, saved me from an amateur accident... The knife feels good and locks the blade in tight, the tweezers are sturdy and helpful, and the rest of the tools can be handy depending on what you're doing. The case is neat and good for compact storage. The only replaceable tools to me are the nippers and maybe the sanding sticks. If you're going to be making models but not painting them, some high grit sandpaper would be better for bringing back the shine after you sand the nubs, 2000 or higher should be okay. All in all, great starter kit for the money and the yellow part separator can be invaluable if you make a mistake and need to pry open parts.

Great intro kit
Overall: Its a decent starting kit for a cheap price. Product: It is a good collection of products to get anyone started with model kits. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for so don't expect top of the line products. At the same time these are not $1 junk items and are in fact significantly better quality. You could easily pay double if you just buy most of the items in this set individually so the price is definitely right. This set will get you started and if you continue the hobby you will be able to upgrade the pieces you feel are important to you. Happy modeling! :)

Great for Bandai Model Kits
I received a couple of Bandai Star Wars model kits as a gift this holiday season, which this works perfectly for. I used some much larger side cutters at first (they were the only thing I had and were likely used to cut coax cable or something) and these are significantly easier to use to get the little nibs off the sides of each piece, and far more comfortable as well. I haven't found much use for the other stuff, but as I work through the model kit, I'm sure I'll have more use for it. I also really enjoy how everything comes in a plastic case.

These tools are great!
I gave this a 5 star because the tools are really good and have helped me with my model kits. The tools look to be made fairly well. I haven't had an issue. They all come in pretty handy. I would definitely recommend this to people who are getting into modeling and don't want to spend much on a kit.

Works well!
This set was perfect. Everything came as is. Tools were strong enough. Didnt break like some of the other reviews, everything was still in the package. Built my first Gundam using only the clippers for getting the pieces of the plastic holder and the prongs for sticker placement. Would recommend buying before starting on a model set. You could probably go to a hobby shop and get just the clippers for a lot cheaper, but this set allows you to expand if you are taking on more difficult builds.
