This one actually does live up to it's informercial hype! One suggestion: make use of the tacks included, particularly at the top in the middle. Any sag in that portion will result in throwing the whole thing off and not snapping up correctly.

My go to...

I have tried a couple of these magnetic screens and have come back to this one. It is easy to install and light weights. Light weight is important due to the pull on the fasteners. I use only the Velcro since I am fastening to the j-channel around my sliding door. The magnetics are nice and strong securing the door quickly and easily behind mostly my dog. For those of you who do not want to get up every time you dogs wants to go outside... buy this. Although these Only last 1 season it is well worth the money.

i would recommend buying these

worked exactly as advertised. doesn't make that nasty racket you see in the commercials when it closes. doesn't take any time at all to install (i installed mine on the outside of two of my sliding glass doors (bought 2). has already made it thru 2 storms! allows me to keep the doors open in springtime while mosquitoes are lurking and not get bit. they come packaged with everything you could need. lacking a handy hammer, i chose to use a staple gun to secure at the top (it comes with thumb tacks). it has velcro along the edges which makes it very easier to decide which side hugs the door frame. it also comes with a huge roll of one sided, self sticking velcro tape to match with the inside of the item. i didn't cover the whole inside with velcro, i put strips of velcro on the frame of the slider and that was enough to keep it snug and the bugs out. everything is inside a plastic bag that is able to store your leftovers and is resealable. i would recommend buying these.

This mesh door went up very easily with the velcro strips. FYI, even though you might want to mount it so that it is taut, it closes better with just a bit of slack across the door. We did find it useful to add a couple extra velcro mounts. I thought it would be removable and while it would be easy to do, it does leave those velcro strips visible on the frame when not in use. If I were doing it again, I'd try to find white velcro strips to match the woodwork around the door. All this slightly negative things aside, I love the door and no longer worry about birds flying in when I leave the door open to allow air into the apartment. Flying insects have a less welcoming opening to visit as well. It is sturdy and as described. I would buy again.

This door screen works great. Because it gets so hot here in Texas, I decided not to use the adhesive strip that comes with it, (worried that it would eventually come off in the heat) and just tacked it up with small nails and it works perfect. I can leave the back door open now and get some fresh air in while the dogs can run in and out and the flies and mosquitos stay out.

So convenient for dogs!!

I’ve had 3 of these over the years and I love them so much!!! We have dogs so rather than walking out into the porch to open a second door, they can just let themselves out. They learn how to use it on the first couple tries. Ours get somewhat excessive use due to dogs, so I have to replace them every year or two, but would still consider them decent quality for the price. I use the tacks to reinforce the sticky tabs that hold it up. They seal up pretty well if you hang them well / with the right tension. We can enjoy our porch pretty well bug free!!

I love this screen! It's been absolutely perfect for our tiny apartment! Our front door has a screen door, but our back doesn't, so when we'd open the door in the summer months we'd get all sorts of bugs. This had been perfect for keeping them out! My husband said it was really easy to install, too. We've had it up for about a month, and have never had any issues with it. It does sometimes stick to our metal door, but that's to be expected with magnets and metal. My neighbors have had the same one installed for at least a year, so I'm really glad to hear that it will stay up long term!

Great buy! Plus, it was cheaper than many others on Amazon. Works well. I highly recommend that you use the tacks to reinforce the mesh screen. The tape provided comes off easily after walking through it a few times. Other than that....excellent buy! Will probably order another one.

... wanted this for quite some time and I'm so glad I purchased

I've wanted this for quite some time and I'm so glad I purchased. I've had it installed in my garage entrance door for about 3 weeks now and I love it. You definitely need to use the tacks provided for the velcro if you are installing on a wooden frame. The sticky velcro doesn't stick as well to wood. Once I put the tacks in the seams of the wood trim problem solved! I would definitely buy this again. It took my dog a bit to get comfortable going in and out but he loves it now too. The only drawback is if it is fairly windy, and the dog goes out, the magnets don't always close automatically back up because of the breeze. Otherwise great product.
