super fun!
OK, I read some other reviews and I have a couple of tips. You will need to shorten the rope about two inches to fit a standard wine bottle. This is explained in the instructions. I simply made a new knot and pulled the original knot down so it sits below the top piece. It actually adds another small element of the puzzle with the knot hanging down. To "set" the puzzle, I finally took a picture of the instructions and printed it out on my printer - they were just too tiny and my brain couldn't decipher the tiny print and understand the instructions. Once I had a larger copy, it was simple. I then put the whole thing into a wine gift box purchased at dollar tree. Hard to wait for Christmas now - but it should be a great time watching them try to get their bottles out!!

Super fun !!!
Bought this for our annual HallowThanksMas white elephant gift exchange, it was the hit of the party. Everyone enjoyed trying to figure out the puzzle to release the wine. Super fast shipping and ordered the wine puzzle and received the wine puzzle box. Maybe a little bit better locking instructions could be used but overall very satisfied with this purchase . Thanks for loads of fun !!!

Difficult
We purchased this as a christmas gift for a notoriously hard-to-stump puzzle person. He undoes normal puzzles in minutes. However, he was stumped by this for almost an entire hour! It is difficult to put together but there are specific directions. We also adjusted the length of the rope by just tying the knot shorter. Bottom line is it was worth the effort to see him stumped by this puzzle, and it made him enjoy his beverage even more!

what a fun way to give a bottle as a gift!
I was afraid that I wouldn't figure out how to put my bottle inside this contraption. That was easy with the directions that came with it too. I measured the diameter of the bottle's bottom that would fit and the height - it came to 3" diameter and about 13" in height. Now I am looking for a bottle/ brand I need in the right size. I am having fun making this gift work and will have more fun watching my man trying to undo this trap to get to his favorite liquor. I am totally happy with this purchase!!!

challenging fun
Can be a challenge to set up. Careful to make it so the rope is not long enough to simply lift the wood off the bottle.Tie an extra knot. Gave this to the adults to work on while the "kids" (young adults/teens) solved puzzles to find their gift cards. I bought 2 and put in a bottle of red in one and white in the other. Told them if they wanted more wine, they had to figure it out. Recommend giving them some wine before starting to keep blood pressure reasonable. There were complaints, frustration, and tears (the tears were from me laughing, while I sat back, watched, and drank my wine). The adults working together got one so messed up, I gave them the directions and it still wasn't easy to open. We had 8 adults for the 2 puzzles and everyone participated at some point.

Unique and fun!
By far the funnest and most sought after gift I purchased this year. I purchased this is my top prize for my Christmas party grand prize and everyone was fascinated with it and wanted it. I will say the directions leave a bit to be desired, but there are numerous videos on YouTube that made it easy. I’m giving this product a 5-star rating because it’s unique, it’s fun and it’s entertaining.

Fun idea!
I really like this. It took us a couple of tries to get it set up so hopefully the recipient will be at least a little puzzled. For those who complain that it only fits tall bottles, it is easily adjusted by making the knot further down the cord in piece A. I did not cut it so that it could be used again with a different height bottle.

Great fun at a Picnic
Brought a bottle of wine to a picnic as a hostess gift. There was some one working on the wine bottle all day and well into the night. No one figured it out be several came close. (I also created a puzzle with the solution and gave it to the 17 year old son of the hostess. Once he figured out the puzzle he had the barcode for the solution. So he was the hit of the party when he demonstrated how to release the wine) I will be purchasing this again and again.

Fun and sturdy, A+!
This thing is awesome! I’m no engineer and I figured out the picture directions of how to go set it up. It’s pretty tough to solve but there’s a good video online. Fun to just have on the table while hanging out. Side note- set it up all the way and then take the slack out of the rope and mark where to tie the knot and then trim it. People seem to be complaining about the rope being too long but the directions actually state- Trim the rope to appropriate length. So that you can use a tall or short bottle.

Figured out the bottle size issue. It's a tough puzzle.
For those reviewing the rope was too long or didn't fit. I figured it out. There could be better directions that the rope can be adjusted. I managed to adjust the rope to fit a bit taller standard(?) bottle and @ 1/2 " shorter bottle of wine. Before trying out locking a bottle in and finding out the rope isn't right... Forget about the C_D_E_F parts and start with step one using parts A and B. Adjust the rope to contain whatever size bottles you plan on using by adjusting the knot that is inside part A. Then you can knock yourself out trying to lock and unlock the bottle using the locking pieces. (A tip is you can cut off any extra rope past the knot inside the cap part A but leave an inch since it's inside the cap. That way you can adjust for a taller bottle later. I'm guessing the manufacturer correctly left the rope long to accomodate your different sizes bottles. )
