Amazing experience!
This was an amazing experience for my boys. All five butterflies survived and are now flying in our yard. Just dont for get that this kit dose not come with the feeding tools or a habitat.

They ate and ate and ate, then turned into ...
They ate and ate and ate, then turned into a pupa, then emerged as butterflies! Even the caterpillars that fell to the bottom became butterflies. Be careful not to put too much sugar water in a dish because it will destroy their wings and they won't be able to fly.

Takes about a month. Need a butterfly exhibit as well, but itโs a very cool adventure to experience with your little ones ๐ค๐ผ

Exactly as described
We received six caterpillars. All six built cocoons, but only five hatched. The butterflies were as advertised. Pretty color. We released them after three days. I am happy with this purchase.

Great product. Highly recommend
We've done this for two years in a row. It's simple, enjoyable and all of our caterpillars turned to butterflies both years. Great product. Highly recommend.

Our favorite spring activity
We do these every spring and we love it. Teaches my kids detail, patience, life cycle, transformation and much more. Such a fun gift to send someone too.

Never a disappointment and always educational.
We get a cup of caterpillars every year, (even though we've had success hatching our own eggs and seeing 2-3 generations stick around our property after gaining their freedom!). We picked this one for the life-cycle toys. It came with a little log stand for the chrysalides, which is new to us and much preferred to pinning the fabric to the habitat. We've done a few experiments with them the past few years. The adults seem to prefer eating from purple cluster flowers, but lay their eggs on daisies. They'll also eat from a small hummingbird feeder. If you see tiny light green dots on the sponge, smaller than poppy seeds, those are eggs! It's a good idea to order after you see asters (daisies or mayweeds) or dandelions pop up in the spring. That way it's warm enough for your caterpillars to make the trip, but not too hot.
