I purchased this dehumidifier for my partially finished basement. The basement is about 150 square feet. The water heater in my basement ruptured a year ago and the remediation company used their equipment to dehumidify and fix the damage. Since then, the basement has been damp. I bought this dehumidifier because of the size and price. I've had it for about two weeks and am happy with it so far. Every few days, I empty the tank. If you have a larger room or a really humid area, this might not be the best option for you since the tank is fairly small. This is the perfect size for my needs. The fan is relatively quiet; it sounds almost like a fan on the low setting. I'm happy with this purchase and will buy this brand again if I need another dehumidifier for another room.

I bought this for a small bedroom that was so damp there was mold beginning to form on the window blinds and bed frame! Yuck! I was a little skeptical about this because it is small - about the size of a toaster - and I pictured the ones from my parents basement which is the size of a mini- fridge. However, this is quiet and does the job perfectly! It came when promised which was appreciated and has been plugged in since we got it about 3 weeks ago and I WILL NOT be unplugging it!

I may edit this if something changes. I definitely want to add pictures with date stamps on them as soon as I can get some. This unit is amazing. I don't say that about products often. Hopefully it continues to be amazing. In 24 hours the unit filled up halfway. The humidity in my bedroom/bathroom was 80%. The unit lowered it to 73%. The room is 8x10. I live in an RV that has awful insulation against cold, heat, humidity. We had had a whole week of rain so everything felt damp. Everything. It's quiet. Can fit in the smallest space. I noticed it collects more water in warmer, stiller air. So in 72 degrees with fans running, less collection. 76 with one fan, more collection. I plan to buy another to put in the living room/kitchen part. Usually not as humid in there.

so.... i bought this for my bedroom. i could FEEL the humidity in there. first day i put it on in two hours it sucked up all the humidity out. i use it every day and it works great. it is smaller than it looks (i know i know the dimensions are on there lol but still) for such a tiny thing it works like a monster. I LOVE IT and highly recommend it.

Okay so if you're looking for this to do an entire floor of your home or anything more than a small room, your obviously didnt read the description. I am a sneaker collector and my collection must remain under a certain humidity to prevent fungus and mold and deterioration. I just moved and my sneaker room was consistently 70% humidity. I got this and its now down to 50%. Its not the best but if you're looking for this little thing to bring you from 70% to 20% in a 12x16 room... you have another thing coming. For this price this does exactly as intended.

My problem was condensation on the windows. Honestly, I ordered this unit with low expectations based on its size and some of the reviews. I've had it running for three days now and it works perfectly. The picture I attached is after two days and you can see it's about one third full. My windows are dry and my hygrometer indicates the humidity is lower. It runs quietly and apparently is designed to run continuously; the unit stays cool and the wall wort is moderately warm. I had no problem emptying the reservoir. I'm very happy and highly recommend it. If you register your purchase, the manufacturer extends the warranty to two years.

Works surprisingly well. Takes about 1-2 minutes to get to full blowing power but just leaving it my bathroom yielded a surprising amount of water pulled from the air. It's also extremely quiet. I'd recommend leaving the door closed to whatever room you use it in so it doesn't try to pull moist air from outside that room.

This is a review on two parts. The first part concerns why I bought this item. This product had lots of reviews. That means to me that you get a good sampling and paid reviewer's comments are diluted. I liked that the description explained what to expect from this device in performance. The wattage was 20 Watts, important in an RV. I would like to have seen a noise level listed. I was unsure of the physical unit's size. I see one set of measurements but I think that's of the box and not the unit. Clear that up and this review has all the information you need. Coming up, review of the unit. My RV is 76F and 50-70% humidity without the unit. The 70% humidity came when I was steaming veggies on the stove. Here's the second part of the review. I've had the unit for a week. The unit is very quiet. In a quiet room I can't hear it 2 feet away. Up closer you can hear air rushing through the vents. The dimensions of the unit are 4 3/8 inches at it's deepest point, 8 1/2 inches tall, and 5 1/2 inches at it's widest point. The unit is curved and not rectangular. The intake is in the front, the exhaust on top. Does it work? Yes, it does but maybe not as you might expect. This unit can only extract water from the air if the temperature of the internal cooling plate is lower than the dew point. The bigger the difference the more water collected. If your room is cold, you'll collect less water. There's also less water in colder air. One thing to be aware of is air leaks in your room. If fresh water laden air is continually introduced, you won't notice a difference. In our RV, I ran a vent fan that sucked fresh humid air from the outside. This machine could not keep up because we weren't recirculating the drier air, it went outside. For best results, keep your room sealed from outside air. I'm satisfied, the unit collects water and that's water not in my air. My unscientific experiment involves steaming veggies and boiling pasta on the stove. On completely different days, I anecdotally note the humidity in the RV stayed near 50% with the unit and near 70% without the unit. I'm going to the beach soon, I'll see if I stay comfortable.

Executive Summary: If you're in an apartment with swampy air, buy this and place it in a relatively high place in your bathroom(s). Then let it run 24/7 and keep the bathroom door mostly shut to trap the shower steam and such in the bathroom with the dehumidifier. If you actually live in a swamp, or are dealing with wet basement type issues, you probably want the bigger fancier dehumidifiers. My new apartment was pretty swampy when I first moved in. The building is old and the bathroom had a vent but not an exhaust fan to pull shower steam out. The air felt like a humid summer day after rain even though it was spring and 65 degrees outside. I couldn't afford any big/fancy dehumidifiers, but I figured if I got this small one I could shut it in the bathroom with the shower steam and let the two battle it out there. Worked like a charm and the apartment is no longer swampy. Instead, it's just about as humid as whatever it is outside. So if you actually live in a swamp, you probably want one or a few of the big/expensive dehumidifiers for a larger place with more pervasive sources of humdity. (If I cook a big pot of spaghetti with the boiling water or such, I use the exhaust fan over the stove to pull that steam out too. Showers and pots of boiling water were the main sources of excess humidity in my home.) Unscientific Methodology: The bathroom looks something like 5x8 with maybe an 8 foot ceiling. I didn't measure squat, but I'm 5'11" and used that as a point of reference while looking around and using my imagination. I set the dehumidifier on top of a cabinet on the wall above the toilet tank because I figured steam rises under mostly normal air pressure conditions and that's where most of the humidity would start its journey. My 9 year old showers at night, I shower in the morning, and the dehumidifier runs quietly 24/7. The water tank in it fills up about every 36 hours. I slide the tank out, pull out the rubber stopper, and dump the water down the sink and put it back in - it's a random 10 second chore I do after every 2-4 showers. And the apartment is no longer swampy which is really nice. I had a cheap humidity gauge thing too, but was too lazy to figure out how to calibrate it and happy just breathing air that isn't soupy now.

This little guy is powerful! We live in the bay area, and though it usually doesn't feel too humid, mold can be a problem. I bought this hoping it would fit in my closet but I liked it so much I ended up keeping it in our bedroom. After a day or two of constant use (really, we keep it on all day and night), it fills up. Thankfully it's nearly silent. My husband is super-sensitive to sound, and it doesn't bother him at all. For us, it's a plus that it doesn't make any audible alerts when it fills up (the light just switches to orange), but for some this might be a pain because you do have to keep an eye on it. One issue I have with it is that the rubber stoppers on the water compartment are very very difficult to unplug in order to let the water out. If I turn the compartment upside down, I can usually get most of it cleared, but it never really completely empties. Not a huge deal, just slightly annoying. All in all though, this was a great buy.
