This is a easily recommended product. Purchased for baking. My recipes have turned out great. I am surprised at the visual difference between the quantity in measuring cups and weighted ingredients. I am a novice baker and decided to try weighing versus cup measurements. Easy to clean as well.

Perfect for home bakers and those interested in assisting in healthy family meals. Easy to see/read digital display that pulls out form the base to accommodate larger bowls. Weighing your ingredients makes an enormous difference in the quality of the finished product.I will never go back to measuring cups. For anyone interested in monitoring their caloric intake and portion sizes, this scale is an eye opener. You have no idea how greatly you underestimate portion sizes on a daily basis."Eyeballing" your portions and guessing leads to weight gain or for some weight loss. In a world full of over sized plates, cups and bowls you are likely loading them up far more than necessary. This scale has been life changing for our kitchen.

The capacity is much better on this than my last one. I can put my heavy glass kitchen aid mixing bowl on it and still trust it it measure out whatever I put in it. The pull-out display has come in handy when I use my large Oxo mixing bowl. It’s battery operated, which is handy since it means I can relocate it quickly and easily if my surfaces are cluttered as they often are, or if I’m cutting and weighing vegetables while my gf is rolling out pie crust or something. As with most scales, it switches between metric and imperial units and tarres (zeroes) with a single button push. It doesn’t have awkward, hard-to-clean spots, and the digital display is very clear and easy to read. I’m searching for something negative to say, but honestly I can’t think of anything I would change.

This scale is fantastic! No wonder it's the favorite of America's Test Kitchen! Incredibly easy to use. With only a few buttons on the control panel, you can tare/zero out the scale, convert between lbs/kg all with an easy to read display. The control panel can even detach from the base in case you are measuring something like a big brimmed bowl and can't see the readout. Smart! The stainless steel base can detach for easy cleaning and has an indentation so rolly things like eggs won't roll off and onto your floor. (They taste better in your cake.) I also love the 11 pound capacity in case I need to ship out a package so I can buy online postage at home! 5 stars! Baking better already!

After 2 different Ozeri kitchen scale train wrecks, this Good Grips scale was unpacked under heavy scrutiny. So far, it has passed with flying colors. I'm super satisfied with this thing. Gone are the variable readings I was getting on the Ozeri scales each time the object being weighed shifted the slightest fraction of an inch. I have put the Good Grips through its paces and it has remained precise and consistent. It's a little pricey, but worth the money, in my opinion. BTW - I didn't bother returning either of the Ozeri scales. I gave one to a neighbor I don't like very much and the other to a niece to use in her play kitchen.

I love this scale. My old one broke cuz we accidentally dropped water on it. So, I saw this and bought the black one for the oxo name and design. I love the glass top and the fact that the digital pull out display. My scale stays on the counter all the time. We use it every day. I love the fact that I can stack it sideways, out of the way. It is sleek as well. It blends in with my counter as I have black granite counter top. This one is perfect for us. It weighs accurately as well in Lb, oz, g, KG. With a tare function which is very useful. The auto lit helps see the numbers when the overhead light is dim. The top is a blast to clean as it is glass top. I definitely recommend it.

I'd read numerous reviews about the different digital scales but the WSJ's high review lead me to choose this particular scale. This OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Food Scale has really changed my weight loss regimen. I'd been on Weight Watchers for months and while I'd been trying to track my food intake, it wasn't until I was meticulously weighing and measuring my portions that I began to lose weight. I do attribute the improvement in large part to this scale. It's very easy to use/set up once I got it out of the box and on my kitchen counter. It's so easy to figure out - power button, tare button, lb/kg button that you don't need to read instructions. Set it up and you're good to go! I particularly like the pull out display which I've used when measuring portions on my plate. I can't recommend this enough! I haven't had to change the battery yet, the instructions will likely be needed for that. Update: I've been using this scale for four months and have seen significant progress in my weight loss as I've adjusted to smaller portions. I've taken the scale with me to Asia, Australia, and back to NYC. I've used the scale 6 times a day for 4 months and have only had to replace the batteries twice. I'm very happy with my purchase and highly recommend the OXO Food Scale.

We LOVE this scale! It gives you precise weight and gives you the advantage of weighing your container before you place the food inside to give you the weight of the food only! The scale readout is easy to read/see! The readout extends out so if you have a large container you'll still be able to see the readout. That's a great feature! Scale is Stainless making it very easy clean up and looks GREAT on the counter! The readout will give you oz or in meters. We are totally happy with this scale!!

This is much better than my previous scale. Easy to clean and always accurate. The pull out display is very useful when measuring things in large pots or dutch ovens. And, because it uses magnets, I don't have to worry about some cheap plastic clip breaking. The stainless steel surface cleans easily, and pops on and off with a gentle tug. Works well for measuring things like flour, meat, vegetables. If you want to measure lighter things like spices, this is not the scale for you. Accuracy is approximately +/- 0.5 to 1g

This simple little tool is a fun toy in the kitchen. It is compact and light, and it is simple and easy to use. It operates in both Imperial (oz) and metric (g), and switches back and forth easily with the push of a button. The tray is detachable (connects to the base via a foot-long cord), so the entire unit is easy to clean. The display, too, is easy to read; there aren't a whole lot of extra features to complicate things here. This is a scale, and it weighs things. Well. Period. OXO, a generally trusted brand in the kitchen, lives up to its reputation with this one. (I purchased this on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Illustrated.)
