Problem solved

Our cat likes to jump on top of a refrigerator freezer, to sleep, that is in our garage. One day my husband saw that the freezer door was ajar and all the food in the freezer had to be thrown away. We surmised that his jumping on it had caused the problem or else he had used his paws to open the freezer door. We needed a solution to prevent the a repeat of the problem and this lock solved it.

My orginal review that I did a bit ago I gave this freezer lock 4 stars, now I want to upgrade my review to 5 stars, has held up well, the the 2 sided tape is still holding on, despite being yanked on often. This lock actually falls back into place when freezer door closes which is a added bonus when your hands are full.

It's worse than melted MegaBlocks

We bought several different types of door latches at once after my daughter managed to melt a full of MegaBlocks in the oven. I ended up installing this one on the fridge after she fed her stuffed animals a whole tub of Greek yogurt (ever try to clean that stuff up? It's worse than melted MegaBlocks!) This is by far the most functional and user friendly of the whole bunch. I'm glad I put it on the fridge because one-handed operation is super easy, but my crafty toddler has yet to defeat it. I'll definitely being buying more to replaced the other crummier/clumsier/weaker latches we acquired on our latch-buying spree.

Keeps my dog out of the fridge!

We tried different bungee cords, child locks, straps, pretty much everything to keep our husky from getting in the fridge. This was the first thing that worked to keep him out while making it easy for us to get in. We also had our friends five year old try to get in, even after him seeing us unlatch it, he still couldn't do it. Excellent product!

Awesome lock. I bought this because when I would close the lower half of the fridge, the freezer door would occasionally pop open slightly. Just make sure that your freezer door has a right angle like in the picture. Mine was a curved door, so it wouldn't work like in the picture, but I put in on top of the freezer door and it works fine. You just need 2 hands to open it.

I like the passive action of this

My problem was dog learned to open reefer. Was using bungee cord, if I remembered. I like the passive action of this.

Couldn't be more happy!

This thing really works. My old freezer wouldn't stay closed. Its a big Frigidaire I keep it closed with bungee cords. I bought this and was a bit worried that it appears to be cheep with tape pads to hold it on. BUT! It really works and keeps the freezer closed! Couldn't be more happy!

I REALLY LIKE the opening mechanism

SUPERB design for a fridge lock. Actually, this is being used as a FREEZER lock... because I have a few too many things stuffed in my freezer, and this keeps it firmly closed, and fast to get into.
