Has given my dad more control and confidence in his life!
My wife and I invited our parents to live with us this past March 2016. My dad was struggling with dementia. So many times he would come in with a worried and confused look on his face asking me what time it was but especially whether it was morning or evening. One time I got up at 5:30 in the morning and he was already at the breakfast table eating and I asked him what he was doing. He replied back "It's suppertime, what do you think I'm doing?!" I purchased this clock and spent the next few days training him to use it. Since the purchase of this clock never once has he asked me whether it's morning or night. He has never once come to me with that worried and confused look on his face concerning the time of day.. I really believe it's giving him a lot more dignity in his life. I'm extremely happy with this purchase!

Improved my mother's mental state.
I can't begin to tell you how much this device as improved my mother's life. My mom is 95 years old and in assisted living. She told me the other day that she was upset because she cannot remember what day it is anymore. To make a long story short, she's had this clock/calendar for about 10 days now and there is a marked improvement in her emotional state. She is much happier and feels that she is not loosing control of her life. I would highly recommend this clock/calendar to anyone. It is a nice size, about 8 inches in height and sits on a table or desk like a picture frame. Most importantly, it improves the lives of those that you love.

Very good easy to read clock for keeping track of days and time
So, I bought this specifically for my wife's 94 year old father who last week told me the clock in bedroom was "lying to him" and he couldn't know if the time was what it was supposed to be so he needed at least 2 clocks, he has several in his room, to let him know it was the time it is supposed to be. Now, my wife had gotten him a similar style clock for his birthday in March however I liked the fact this model not only states the month, date, year and time with am or pm, but as the item photo shows it also shows Night-midnight to 6 am, Morning- 6 am to 12 noon, Afternoon- 12 noon to 6 pm or Evening- 6 pm to midnight, under the day in the display. While it does have the ability to set up to 3 alarms in it, that functionality isn't needed at this time. The clock can also be either am / pm or the 24 hour clock military or european time in month, date display also. Emphasizing the large day of the week at the top with the still large time display with the added easily read morning, afternoon, etc. is really good especially for getting hard to see older folks. The lettering is against a black background and can be either white or yellow. So far it seems to be helping him understand time again a little better. He has the first clock in his room as a nightlight and this clock was put in the living room and I used the Yellow display to show him this clock is a different and between 2 clocks telling him the day and time when he gets up at 1:30 in the morning thinking he should be up then with this clock telling him unequivocally that 1:30 am is in fact NIGHT, he should still be in bed, maybe he'll believe it! I fully intend to continue using this clock when he no longer needs it to put it in our RV as when we've been on longer trips it is kind of easy to occasionally forget what day it is at times, and this will help!

Excellent clock for Elderly
This is a great clock for the elderly and those with dementia to help them stay on track. I bought this for my mom who would habitually get up at night thinking it was much earlier than it was. Now she can see it as soon as she leaves the bathroom and knows if it's time to get up. Very bright LED display even with dimming option. My mom faces clock away from her at night so the light won't shine in her face. That would be the only thing I would change. A much dimmer option for night would be great. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a product like this!

EXTREMLY HAPPY AND GRATEFUL TO HAVE FOUND THIS PRODUCT!!!!
I ordered this clock for my almost 87 year old mom, whom has begun having difficulties with memory loss; day of the week, time of day, month and year! I was SO IMPRESSED with this tool, it has allowed my mom to, at a glance, know all of the above! She is EXTREMLY HAPPY WITH IT, AS AM I!!!! ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP ORIENTATE MY MOM MENTALLY IS NO#1 in my book! It came already set, VERY EASY TO USE!!!! VERY CLEAR LARGE LETTERING, SIMPLE AND EASY TO READ!!! I am so glad that not only does it tell my mom the time of day, month, and year; BUT; THE DAY OF THE WEEK, MORNING, NOON AND OR NIGHT!!!!! and does dim itself as you go later into the evening...it also has alarm features on it as well that may be helpful for the future, but for now we don't need to use that feature!!!!!! It has HELPED MY MOM STAY ON TRACK, WHEN SHE IS HAPPY, I AM HAPPY!!!! This is an excellent product!!! AND A DAILY COMMFORT/FRIEND OF SORTS!:-) I am bragging about this to all I meet, PLEASE HIGHLY CONSIDER THIS TOOL IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER IN NEED!!! YOU'LL BE SO HAPPY YOU DID!!!!! Oh, the cost was also very reasonable for such a priceless gift for my mom!!!!! Thank you!

Mom loves her new clock that displays the day of the week!
Ordered this for my 85 yr old mom who has early stage dementia. She absolutely LOVES this clock. Before, she could not remember what day it was. She prefers the softer yellow letters which she can easily read from across the room and which auto-dim at 7pm. She said that this would be an excellent Christmas present for any elderly person. Set-up is simple. Unbox it, plug it in and press the menu button on the back to access the on-screen menus. All the menu options aren't displayed at the same time. Simply scroll down to see the other options such as display color or to turn off auto-dimming. It is a/c powered and does not, to my knowledge, have a battery backup. We did not try the alarm feature. This is a cool clock for any elderly person.

Mom Loves This
this was for my mother who is 96 and still in her own home. She would get mixed up on the day of the week. She loves this...easy to read and understand. We also like the feature that this does NOT automatically dim at 7:00. She keeps this in her living room and she is in there after 7:00 so it is important that she can read this at any time of day or night. Highly recommend.

I am so glad I did
I contemplated purchasing this clock for quite a while. I use my cell phone as my morning alarm and also glance at it for the time. Did I really need to fork out money for a big bold-faced "memory" clock? Yes!! I am so glad I did, and here's why. I am in my 50s and work full time as a nurse with a varied schedule. Even without that excuse, it's just me but I never seem to know the date and sometimes wake up confused as to what day of the week it is. Now as I get ready, I have a clear and beautiful reminder of the day of the week AND date. Plus, no more squinting at my cell phone or pressing buttons on it to bring up the time as I prepare for work. I looked at our local store at the small cheap (date) clocks and, for me, I still had to squint at all the info. I love this clock. Solves all my stress!! I don't use the alarm since I still prefer my phone alarm. However, I chose the alarm model over the one that says "morning", "afternoon", and "night" on it because I wanted the simplicity of the face. It has been so pleasant to read/relax a bit in my room before I leave for work calmly glancing at the nearby clock on my nightstand. Plus, for me, I like the unobtrusive grey SVINZ on the bottom right side. It is subdued and adds to the simplicity and the name sounds scandanavian or something, like a place in Europe I might like to visit!! I'm not picky about where the clock was made as long as it works, suits my needs, is simple, and classy. This is my favorite clock ever and I would buy it again without hesitation!

Worth it's weight in gold!!!
Tl;Dr Amazing product, helps soooo much with meal planning. Even though it's expensive it's been the most helpful thing for my dad to know what time it is and when to eat. If you're struggling with those things as a caregiver I highly recommend this product! This has been extremely, insanely helpful for my dad! He has vascular dementia and I had to get him on a meal schedule because he wasn't remembering that he just ate 15 minutes ago. He started gaining weight because he'd have meals back to back then multiple snacks. Quick note: I spent months teaching him how to safely use the microwave (using minute plus) and I typically do things to make it easier for him to make his own food- example: for sandwiches I cut up tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, lettuce, and cheese so he can make a good sandwich on his own. Sidenotes: the frustration of teaching him this almost made me give up, but it really paid off. The more you make someone with dementia rely on you for things the more they will, and the faster they forget on their own and the faster they decline. Quick tip: he can't open/close regular ziplocks, but the slider style works perfect! I searched for quite awhile to find a clock with am/pm, the day of the week, and the date. I came across this which also has morning, afternoon, evening and night. Some days he struggles more, but such is the nature of dementia/Alzheimer's. He will often come out many much more times to look at the clock every few minutes to see if it's time for food. Sometimes he just goes for it and I have to intervene. But still it helps him figure things out on his own. By far it's the best visual cue that my dad can understand. I use this along with a magnet whiteboard on the fridge with the eating schedule, and I put a check mark next to the meal/snack after he eats it. I usually do this in front of him which sometimes helps. All in all, highly recommended. For the caregivers, hang in there!! It's one of the most challenging and heartbreaking jobs in the world, so don't be too hard on yourself if you have a difficult day. If you ever have questions or need to vent, Alzheimer's association has a 24/7 advice line with therapists and many other professionals there to help; they can answer any and all dementia related questions, it's truly incredible. 1-800-272-3900

I bought two!
I first bought this 8" Digital Calendar Alarm display clock for my husband who is always asking me what time, day, etc. it is, and further likes this info in the middle of the night occasionally. No, he doesn't have Alz, just demented or demanding; not sure which sometimes. Anyhow, there is a whole other marketing segment that this clock could be directed to. Most of the reviews start with ... I bought this for my 102-year old ...etc. I am a few years from that and liked the clock so much that I bought a second one for my office desk. I'm way past retirement, but still work as a technical writer person for a computer company of all things. Think of this being marketed in neon colors, different shapes, etc. for the younger set. I will admit the "morning" as well as "A.M." designation is a tad redundant. But I LOVE THIS CLOCK! 12/26/17
