Looked at the other review here before purchasing, and was a little worried about how this was balanced- being very front heavy. And, yes, it is a bit front heavy, but not as bad as I was expecting. Using the shoulder, or neck strap, made it very usable. I was trimming a 30 foot tall, extremely overgrown spruce tree, and this was easily able to trim most of the branches with out a problem. With the extension, I was able to reach up much higher then I could with my normal hedge trimmer. To get the higher branches, I was able to stand on a 10 foot step ladder and get to most of the upper branches. Again, due to the previous reviews, I was worried the the front heaviness would make me feel unsafe on a ladder. But, it wasn’t bad. I didn’t overreach, and felt total safe. Even though most of what I trimmed was over my head, I never felt like my arms or shoulders were killing me and woke up the next morning feeling fine. This trimmer will be very helpful for all my other tall hedges as well and would definitely recommend it.

Seller is great. Not crazy about the product. It cuts well, but it's heavy and awkward. Zero thought put into balancing it's top heavy motor/blade and clumsy handle. Admittedly, I'm a 5'5 120 lb girl, but I think the poor design is a lot of the problem.

Cons - heavy, I am a beast and this wore me out. Multiple quick breaks over the 1st hour of use as my left shoulder took the brunt of it. Ladder work is a little scarier balancing all the weight of the head/trimmer part. Holding the unit straight up is easy but once you start reaching (horizontal) it gains weight. Another user recommended a handle that could be added on after market so to speak. See the "also bought" section Pros - affordable, sharp, efficient. 2 years ago I paid $175 to have some trees pruned. In one hour and the cost of this unit I did it myself.

I couldn't have designed a more accomodating tool unless I was a professional working in that field of design! Then, again, any variations on this beautiful creation would only be window dressing meant to increase the cost. The support belt has me mystified as the tool balance appears to be just right. Each owner will, most likely, have different shaded opinion. l, for one, am pleased with my purchase and look forward to secure footing when trimming each spring's growth from atop my 6 foot evergreen hedge.

I had been hoping to find a trimmer with extended reach, that can angled for high horizontal cutting, and this Sunjoe does the job at an extremely reasonable price. It has plenty of power and cuts very well. Being corded electric, of course, care must be taken not to trip on the wire. The only real weakness of the product is user fatigue, because of the weight, especially when extended and angled. This is seemingly unavoidable, but can minimized by using the neck strap and making sure it is properly adjusted. Overall, I am very pleased because this trimmer allows me to manage high shrubs and bushes, without the risks of using a ladder.

What a great hedge cutter I didn't know what to expect purchasing this online and not being able to see it in person but when it arrived I quickly put it together which was no problem and tackled my first job and boy does this thing cut wonderful it's got a long reach so I don't have to go to much on a ladder as I did in the pass very sharp cuts on both edges and my job is done so quickly are use a little wonder and this thing was a lot faster than that I've done several jobs with this and she still works good very happy with this product and for the price you can't go wrong

I was able to get this device assembled and in action in about 5 minutes. It took longer to get the extension cord set up, than it took to get the trimmer ready to go. With a regular hedge trimmer I can't reach out from my porch far enough to trim my shrubbery so I would have to set up a ladder, but with this device it was easy to reach all the way out to the edge and cut the bushes without a ladder. Also, for the shrubbery along the front of my house, I was able to adjust the angle of the trimmer bar and remove the new growth without using a ladder. Previously it would have taken me ~3 hours to cut my shrubbery, but with this device I got it done in 45 minutes. Word of warning: the trimmer end is the heavy part of the device; it can get quite unwieldy when you extend the handle, so you need to stop and rest to regain your strength if you feel that you're losing control.

Yes, the tool is top heavy, but what do you expect when a powerful motor is at the cutting end. Accept this and you won't be disappointed. The blades cut great and have a long reach of up to 8 feet from the trigger. The fact that I didn't have to take down, from my garage ceiling, and climb my heavy A-frame ladder to cut the tall hedges, makes this purchase totally worth it. Use the shoulder strap by putting your arm and head through and it is well supported on your upper back. I purchased and added the extra handle for better control. And even though I will probably never use the trimmer set at a 90 degree bend, the ability to bend the head allows you to store the trimmer much easier when you’re finished.

I had a hedge that is about 10' tall and goes over the back fence and about 8' wide at the top, and I wanted it down to 8' X 5'. With this and a elec pole chainsaw I was able to get 1/2 of the hedge down to size so far. This cuts fairly large (3/4") branches and the chain saw got the bigger ones. It works great. YES, it is heave when extended out fully, and with the on buttons at the far end I was only able to work 5 - 10 minutes at a time (I am 65) until I got the big stems cut. Now I can use this more often so as not to let the hedge get too big, and it is a gym workout at the same time. Very happy

Love this product. Angling/adjusting the cutter head saves your back and does a better job. And the pole handle telescopes to a longer length for reach and It gives you the AC power source you need for the kind of home yard work I do that a 7V battery power source could not. I tried a battery version and do not recommend it. I used this produce for hedges , bushes, and tall weedy areas where riding equipment or a mower could not access. You will be pleased with this product. The caveat is I only have about 5-8 hours use, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't fall apart. It does have a 2-year warranty! Made very well. Keep your paperwork!
