I have used many of these for swiping ID cards. Inexpensive and works perfectly. They are programmable as well.

Used it for school events. Works great!

It worked reading the magstripe I was trying to read, so I am happy.

Item works as promised, and in fact turns out to be very highly recommended as I researched how to use it. Many different instructions reference it as being a great value and reliable. My limited testing shows the same.

We tried these on 3 different occasions and have never failed. It's very inexpensive but reliable and capable. Just be sure to swipe the correct side of the card as the magnetic reader is only on one side.

Works perfectly as designed for credit cards. Card must be swiped with stripe on opposite side of the green light (different from the reader I was using). As some may not know you need to place the cursor in the credit card field on your computer in order for the reader to be able to work. This may be why some reviewers complain that their readers don't work.

We now have purchased six of these little devices. They are essentially 'plug and play', connecting directly to the financial web site with whom we do business. We have transitioned from using iPads (with attached card readers) to using a dedicated web site. We've used these for multiple events and will continue to do so. If / when we change financial services we will only change to vendors who can / will accommodate the usage of these devices. We have experienced no failures since the first usage 11/17. This review written 10/18.

Great product and service!

Works great and does exactly what it's meant to do. I purchased a handful of $50 USB card swipe devices from another vendor, the $50 ones are a bit better built, heavier plastic, and heavier-duty cable. They also allow the card to be swiped in either direction. But for the cost savings, this one reads credit cards perfectly every time. It really is plug-and-play. I will definitely purchase again. When purchasing, I received an emailed link to additional documentation including programming information. It's good to know that it is programmable, but I didn't need any of it - just plugged it in and started swiping.

I had a gift card that I could no longer make out the number on. I was able to get the number (legible number) with this reader!
