Easy way to brighten up the garage
I replaced a 100-watt equivalent (probably 17 watts) LED bulb with this 5-way splitter, and screwed in 5 100-watt equivalent LED bulbs (so a total of about 85 watts). The garage is BRIGHT now, finally. I was worried I would have to add hanging lights or something requiring carpentry work - but no more. This just screwed in and was ready. This unit appears for indoor use only. There is apparently no weather grommets of seals of any sort. When first using the new unit, be aware that the 4 bendable arms only work in one direction. If they are bent at their elbow backward, they will not pivot horizontally and forcing them to pivot will likely break them. Just bend the arm back the other direction (vertically almost 180 degrees) and once horizontal again, it should pivot easily. Remember watts~=heat, so the more watts you install the more heat you will create. I would not install more than 100 watts of bulbs into the unit. LED bulbs are much more efficient, so the equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent bulb is only 15 to 18 watts (depending on the bulb used). I see no reason a set of CFL bulbs could not be used (assuming you already own them, I would not purchase any new ones) but the size of the bulb may restrict the range of movement for the arms. Again, be sure the total watts screwed in is around 100 watts or less just for safety.

Perfect for what I wanted it for.
I've always liked very bright lights throughout the house and bought the highest wattage 3 way bulbs I could find, but now a days, these are nearly impossible to find and when I can find they they are very pricey. Seeking a solution, I came across this and decided to try it. I bought the one that holds up to 5 lightbulbs. It's terrific! I am currently using it with 3 led 100 watt equivalent bulbs, without a lampshade. Once I put the lampshade on, I'm guessing I might need to add another bulb or 2. I am a bit concerned that the base of the unit might be too wide for the part of the lamp that is used to attach the shade. (Sorry, I don't know what it's called - something simple I'm sure) The led bulbs don't even get hot even after being on steadily for 8 or more hours - I can touch them with my bare hands. Once I get my house in order, I will be buying these (maybe not all the ones with 5 fixtures for every room) every room. I hope they last a long time and I am not jinxing myself with this review. lol

Fantastic 5-way socket!
Excuse me not posting a picture of this in use but I will follow up with an update once my garage is cleaned. :-) I needed an inexpensive, quick and simple way to add significant light to my garage so that I might better clean and organize it. I have used socket splitters in the past but wanted something with more functionality not just for this immediate task but also to adapt to future needs. This product, the JACKYLED 5 in 1 Light Socket Splitter, does exactly that. I inserted this socket into a 15+ foot ceiling socket expanding from one (1) single 1000 lumen light bulb to five (5) 1000 lumen bulbs. I now have ~ 5,000 lumens of daylight (5000K) LEDs basking that portion of the garage. The product is well-built and does not leave me any concerns with its use. The ball joints are smooth and provide precise directional control for each of the four arms (the center socket is not movable). I will be buying at least one more of these units for the garage. I may also try JACKYLED 2- or 3-way splitters for other purposes.

Love it.
Seriously. This is one of those things I have always thought needed to exist and never bothered to check to see if it did exist. I have had it installed about three weeks and love it. Adds a ton of light. Not sure how well it would work with incandescent bulbs but with LED's it is pretty amazing. Really brightens up the garage and I love the ability to move the arms around. Good quality considering how inexpensive it is. This is very, very small. It comes in a box that is about 3"x3". But it works very well. Dont let the small size fool you.

Screw in one get the light of five bulbs that is!
I needed more light in my closet, bathroom, and bedroom. I love saving electricity just like the next guy and I love the lower bill. But sometimes and in some places you just have to be able to see. And I have noticed in some of the newer homes there's there's not as many light fixtures as there used to be! Well I started out looking for pop lights and I read the reviews and they weren't very good, and the thought of changing all those batteries and paying for all those batteries didn't sound very good to me either. So I looked around on Amazon and sound this item which I didn't even know existed! It is amazing! Wonderful! It gives you the light anywhere you need, turns anywhere you need, it's just fantastic. Recommend it to anybody that has low light issues like I do. Sincerely: Anita Wagner

A bright idea!
Having read of 10% failure rate, it looked to me like a little lube would fix most issues of sticking bulbs. I used Remington REM-DRILUBE which dries to a Teflon powder on all the sockets - including the male. I bought 8 of these and 40 TIWIN 11 watt/100 Watt equivalent bulbs. All fixtures and all bulbs worked properly from the start. The TIWIN bulbs are a good match because they throw light 200 degrees, and not much is wasted lighting the fixture. Teflon or "DRY" silicone lube spray should be safe to use. Let the carrier dry off before applying power. My garage and basement are now extremely well lit.

Let there be light! and you don't have to be an electrician
Really great adapter. Added the stick light bulbs to reduce the weight and bulkiness of the rounded bulbs and it just brights up well. Best part is you just screw this on an existing light socket and you're good to go. You don't have to worry about wires or anything.

Good product
I bought one of these adapters, in combination with 5 LED bulbs, to cast more light in my garage. I turned a single bulb socket into 5-way and the result is quite amazing. And I'm using less power vs a single incandescent bulb. I read other reviews here wherein folks commented on having difficulty screwing bulbs into this product. I had similar experience. Once screwed in, it was quite difficult to unscrew, and felt as though I was going to break this adapter. Thankfully, I was able to get it out without damage. I solved by rubbing a VERY small amount of light grease onto the threads of this 5-way adapter. I can now easily get bulbs in and out without issue. I'll be buying 2 more of these very shortly to complete my garage light conversion.

Great way to brighten up garage!
My garage was always so dark, no matter what type of bulbs I had. Even had fluorescent lights installed and it didn't do much. This 5 in 1 Light Socket Splitter is amazing! Seriously, the best lighting solution to a garage. Add some LED bulbs and you're set! Ended up pairing it with the "Tenergy LED Light Bulb, 60 Watt Equivalent A19 E26 Medium Standard Base, 5000K Daylight White Energy Saving Light Bulbs" and my garage is super bright! ***** Edit 5/25/2019 ***** I loved this product so much, I got another set and gifted to my brother. Wow such a difference it makes in a dim garage. This has been the best deal you can get for the amount of light output. LED bulbs are so cheap these days, this makes it worth buying this than calling an electrician to wire more light sockets. My original ones are still working great too! Love these products that work and the price!

It's my redneck chandelier!
No offense to rednecks, because I am one; one generation off the coalfields of Kentucky. We have drop ceilings in this rental home in the two smaller bedrooms. Lighting is just tragic in them and I wanted to drop down a fixture and add more light to the spare bedroom. With a socket extender (sold at Amazon, of course) I was able to extend the fixture down 12" and past the drop ceiling. There are two BIG recommendations I have with this fixture: 1. Use cooking spray or a bit of silicone lube inside the sockets BEFORE you install it. I sprayed Pam onto my fingers and wipe the inside of the socket and the outside of the part that went into the extender. Then I rearranged the sockets to where I wanted before I got up on the ladder. Do not, and I must repeat this DO NOT do this while it's connected to the electricity, You WILL get electrocuted. Do this BEFORE installation. 2. USE ONLY LED or Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. Incandescent light bulbs (the old school ones) generate a lot of heat along with electricity. They WILL MELT THIS fixture-especially any wattage over 20 watts. LED lights and Compact Fluorescent bulbs don't generate heat.
