So far so good! I'm a DIYer and though I have experience with installing almost everything else in a house, I had never done anything with air conditioning (other than install and remove window AC every year). It took me a full day to install this unit once the electric was ready to go. Instructions were clear and everything I needed was included in the box. The only head scratcher occurred when I was trying to evacuate/vacuum the lines before charging the system. My vacuum pump would show negative pressure immediately and I finally figured out the adapter on the service port wasn't pushing in the Schrader valve completely. I had to really tighten down the connections on the service port in order to get the valve stem depressed and to vacuum the system. System started up fine and blows 48 degree F air out during AC operation. Very quiet! Much quieter than a window unit. Overall I'm impressed and didn't feel like this was too hard of an install for a DIYer.

Great Job Pioneer! Will definitely buy again!
First off I am an HVAC mechanic by trade so my experience installing this will greatly differ from persons not familiar with installing Ductless Heat Pumps. If you have no knowledge of how to do this, I highly recommend hiring a reliable mechanic and licensed electrician to assist you in the refrigeration process or you will run into major headaches. Now, on with my experience. Everything as far as major parts is included for a fantastic price. Excellent delivery system by ABF freight. Really, you cannot get some of what you need at a refrigeration supply house for this price. The build on this unit is superb in every way. The thought of everything to assist you in the installation has been included. If you attempt to do this yourself and have none of the specialty tools, you could spend a small fortune buying them. Below are some of the things you must have on hand just to get to get the unit mounted and installed on the outdoor unit: Vacuum Pump and Vacuum Pump Oil 410a Gauge Set (1) 1/4” to 5/16” gauge adapter for 410a connection. Metric Tape measure (Yes,you need one!) Magnetic Level Stud Finder Electrical Fused Disconnect Box to outdoor unit Conduit and connectors Electrical Whip to go from disconnect to outdoor unit Drywall Anchors and Screws (If, drilling into Brick,Concrete, Rotary Hammer Drill is a MUST!) (If less than 16 ft. Line connections: Flaring Tool Small Tubing Cutter, Wire cutter, Wire strippers, Ring Connectors) Razor Knife Wire ties Electrical Tape Sharpies 2-1/2” Hole Saw Cordless Drill and assorted screwdriver bits Extension Cord I highly recommend mounting your outdoor unit on a Pioneer Brand wall bracket instead of the ground. Makes installing lines, electrical so much easier. I also installed the optional WiFi card to the Ceilo App. Works great and links to Alexa! Unit is superbly designed and incredibly quiet indoors and outdoors. I used the Hide-a-Line line cover kit because I was only going a short distance of about 10 feet. Still an excellent value and great quality. Definitely will buy this again. Great job Pioneer!!

Quiet and well designed
We've purchased and installed two of these units and are very pleased with both. The first went into a guest house and after it was installed my wife and I decided that it was so quiet that we purchased another to replace a Mitsubishi unit in our bedroom. Our conclusion after both units have been in use for awhile is that they may in fact be too quiet -- we forget they are on. The controls for the units are also much more intuitive. One caution though, when you buy one of these units keep in mind that it will take a professional AC person to make the final installation (or at least the final connection). The installation instructions are clear and well diagrammed, but the pressurized line vacuum should only be done by someone with the right pumps and gauges (especially in Florida where we live). We gladly paid a local contract $275 for each installation (since they were 6 months apart), but that's a real bargain when you compare it to the $6500 the Mitsubishi cost us to install a few years ago.

Very pleased! Highly recommended.
When my Sanyo C1812 split ductless outdoor condensing unit from 1990 finally failed due to a locked compressor, my local HVAC contractor recommended a Mitsubishi unit for several thousand dollars. He agreed to install this Pioneer instead and remarked at the quality of the unit and installation kit. He was skeptical that the lines came charged from the factory and gave me a discount after confirming that they were during installation. It is faster, quieter and better in every way! Pioneer acknowledged receipt of the warranty card with test results and installer license number in case any problems are encountered (so far so good after six months).

Nice and cold!
Bought this because my central A/C totally sucked. It ran all day as well as running up my electric bill without lowering the temperature. After only 5 minutes the temp cooled off nearly 10 degrees and within 20 minutes to perfection. And my electric bill went from $110 down to $29.

Looks to be a nice unit. Excellent customer service!!
This is a really nice set up! The indoor unit is charged with nitrogen for shipping so removing the caps is fine. The only specialty tools youll need are gauges and a vacuum pump. The sellers had prompt and great advice. The unit is precharged for a 25 foot lineset according to the seller although the installation manual recommends adding 1lb additional r410a (for lineset >20ft) but Ill believe what Im told. I havent started the system yet so a follow up review is pending. The only other slight concern is that the manual calls for copper conductor from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit but the cable that came with it is 16awg aluminum conductor. I doubt there will be a measurable voltage drop over 15 feet but its not what the manual calls for. Im VERY happy with the finished product. UPDATE: I have emailed HighSEER numerous times with various questions about this unit and EVERY TIME they're prompt and accurate and helpful. The customer service has just been fantastic. If you could imagine what customer service SHOULD be like, HighSEER has fulfilled the expectation. I cant thank you enough for your helpful service. About the unit: Quiet. Quiet quiet!! The outdoor unit is on the back patio and its so quiet that a whisper conversation can be had while its running. The indoor unit is inaudible. Our 1100 sqft house is comfortable with thermostat set to 75 and its 87 outside. Latest update: After installation, the indoor unit started up and a bunch of blue plastic pieces fell out of the indoor unit. I emailed HighSEER (the seller) and asked them what they thought of it. After one day, they responded and diagnosed that the blower cage must have gotten broken (which I couldnt determine from my preinstalled inspection) They immediately sent me a NEW blower cage FREE of charge!!!! So, the product is nice and Im HAPPY with it but the CUSTOMER SERVICE from HighSEER is absolutely the best customer service that I have experienced in ANY industry!!!!!

Easy install but have a licensed hvac co. Run a system test
I gave it 5 stars based on my experience thus far. I ordered unit 5/14/18 received it on 5/22 and installed it on 5/24. Unit came packed well with all parts present. I installed the unit myself and then had my licensed hvac guy do a system startup for me. He pressure tested it, vacuumed the lines and then released the freon into system. It's been 3 days, unit run well. Time will tell now if it lasts.

Excellent HAVC Powerful (mistake not pre charged)
My husband installed the 18000 downstairs in our 1,700' log cabin, to test. He wishes he ordered the 24000 it works so well, instant heat or air. We are putting a 13000 upstairs. These are excellent, we are putting them in our rentals and Hunting Lodge on the East Coast. The only issue is these are not pre charged. Amazon is so great, they paid for a plumber to charge the lines, who cost $100 and it worked immediately.

I could not be happier!
The kit was delivered in two days and in perfect condition because the packaging is made to protect this unit while being shipped in a truck. I installed it on our first 90° day and my garage was at 72° within 45 minutes. I took my time and spent about 12 hours on the project. It is so quiet I thought it wasn’t working. I have refrigeration and heating experience but I believe average handyman or gal can install this unit if you follow all of the instructions to the letter.

Still satisfied-------Gets the job done...beats a window unit in every category
Update - 1 Year later. 6/2018 I went to fire up the unit in May and it was not cooling, I also noticed in February it did not heat. I had a buddy come over and hook his gauges up and it was low on Freon. He put a pound or so additional 410a in the unit and it came right back to where it was before. Turns out we didn't get the fittings at the compressor side tight enough and during our 20 degree stretch of weather it must have slowly leaked out. We tightened all of the fittings and so far it is still running great. Even with R410A at $10 a pound, charging it every year for $20 isn't a bad proposition if it leaks out again. I can actually cool my entire garage down to 70 degrees by just opening the storeroom door. This unit cools my 500 sqft garage much better and quieter than my 2x 3 ton units cool my 2600 sqft house. Still satisfied. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Original Review 6/2017 I bought this put in my garage storage room. The room is 16 by 10 by 9 feet tall. On 77 the unit keeps the room a tad warm - on 76 it kicks in and feels really cool. On 65 it gets cold enough to hang meat. Inside and outside unit are both extremely quiet - make a window ac unit sound like a truck. I performed a self install through an insulated brick wall. It took some effort but was doable by a person with average handyman skills. I used the air duster alternate method of evacuating the copper lines- it worked fine. I used flares as shipped. Unit arrived a week prior to stated delivery date. Very satisfied so far.
