Inexpensive, easy to install - dead phone battery problem solved!

super easy to install on my Zuma - wish it came with a grommet for running the wires through plastic and screws to attach the plug, but otherwise all necessary components were included. Took about 20min to run the wires and have the plug mounted (and I’m picky about fit & finish!) plugged in my iPhone and charged it right up. 5 stars because it seems like good quality but was inexpensive and I had a grommet and appropriate screws to finish to my liking.

Installation was a cinch

I bought this USB power cable to be able to charge my phone while riding my motorcycle. Installation was pretty straightforward and the cable length was just right going from my battery up to my handlebars. This unit is mounted on the handlebars next to a phone holder. It is standard USB which allows me to use any existing cable to connect to my phone. I use a short 6" cable so there is not a lot of clutter around the handlebars. I am not sure what the power rating is on the USB outlet but it charges my phone as fast as any other device I have, and faster than most. This charger allows me some freedom with my motorcycle that I would not otherwise have. It has a weather cap which covers the USB socket in case of rain. My motorcycle is stored indoors at home but this feature has been very handy when my Motorcycle is uncovered while I am at work. I have enjoyed using this USB outlet and would recommend it to anyone interested in a USB power outlet.

Great deal

Switching power supply draws 0.28mA with no load. No need for a power switch since idle current is so low. I will disconnect when I put the bike up for winter.

Awesome motorcycle USB charger, easy installation

Hooked up incredibly easily to my battery, under five minutes, and with a couple pieces of tape and zip ties I have a new USB charger for my phone and anything else on the road. So far it doesn't seem to affect the battery at all, even when I leave the USB cord plugged in, and as long as the bike is running I don't think its drawing anything more than the alternator can put out. I've used this to charge my phone and tablet, as well as run a shop-light and blow up an air mattress. Pretty much a must have for any commuting or touring motorcycle.

Does what it's supposed to

I can't attest to longevity, as I justninstalled it. Or any of the waterproofing claims, because I installed it inside the fairing of my full-dresser. But it does what it's supposed to do: gave me somewhere to plug in a lightning cable, to route up through my dash, to charge my phone while it's in the Ram Mount.

Works perfect, even for power hungry smart phones

*update: After reporting the issue below, seller sent a replacement which works PERFECT! 5 stars now for product and customer service. Phone discharged quicker than motopower charges. Installed on 2016 Yamaha XSR900 to use with Pixel XL for use with Waze and Google navigation. Tried several different power cords to troubleshoot with same results.

Works as expected!

Works as expected. I thought the cable would be too short but it worked fine on my Vstrom 650. Charges like a normal car charger. I can keep my cell phone open with a GPS/navigation app running at full brightness, which is what I wanted. Using an iphone 6 and charges with no issue. Super cheap...hooks right up to the battery terminals so was real easy to install. Will see how it holds up over time.

No Frills but does the job

I wasnt expecting a whole lot from this product. I figured you get what you pay for, but i needed something to solve a problem quickly. This item arrived and promptly was installed onto my bike, then tested during a 30 minute ride. Not only did this item work as described, it exceeded expectations. I expected that it would give me a slight charge on my phone/gps while riding, enough that i wouldnt kill my phone. What i noted was that not only did it keep my phone from dying, but it max charged my phone in under 30 minutes, while my phone was running several battery hogging apps including GPS.

Easy set up

Very nice product that can be wired directly to your bike's battery. This can be easily mounted to your bike so that you have a USB port available to you at all times. When the USB isn't being used there is an attached cover to keep water, dust and dirt out of the plug. This is very handy to have whether you're needing it for a GPS, your phone, or your passenger's phone. Personally I rely heavily on the reviews of others when I'm shopping. I like that it has provisions for zip-tie and screw attachment

Very simple device that does exactly what it says. I like that it has provisions for zip-tie and screw attachment. One thing to be aware of is that once you plug in the USB cable, the plug is no longer waterproof. I have them mounted under the seats of both Ducatis, so I'm not worried. If you mount them with the USB side facing down, at least if water gets in, it will drain back out. I considered putting a small hole in the rubber cap and running the USB cable through that but didn't bother.
