I’ll admit I thought this thing wouldn’t work but I said what the hell let’s give it a try so I hook it up to my suv knowing everything is good and test came back good. So I hooked up to my woman car knowing everything is bad and the test came back bad so this does really work

I use this on the riding mower battery to check it and it came in very handy when my wife's car would not start. The dealer said the battery did not show on their tester as defective. I tracked the charge, took the car back twice, and finally the dealer admitted that the battery registered as defective and replaced it. It was two weeks short of the one-year full replacement warranty.

This device does exactly what it says it does. I recently purchased a new (to me) car and suspected the battery and/or alternator was bad. I figured I had enough juice for one more start and wasn't sure to go to the auto parts store for a battery or to the mechanic to test the alternator. I tested with this and it confirmed it was just the battery. I tested the new one, and it seemed to read true.

Of course two weeks after it's arrival, my seatbelt caught in my truck's door on the way out and killed my battery with the interior light being on. After charging the battery, which is nearing its end of life expectancy, I check it's output regularly with this little tool. Once I see a regular decline in the battery's output, I'll know it's about time to do something about it without getting stranded somewhere. I actually used it to go through a box of nine volts that had been flipped from the old smoke detectors and found a live one. I went back through the detectors and found a bad contact on an older smoke detector that was installed prior to our recent purchase of the house, so that was a bonus application for this tool.

This item was a God Send!!! After an extremely bitter Winter, that seems to have had a mission to kill every battery I owned, I found this little ditty online. It tells you everything you need to know about your battery's status. Need to recharge or replace? This battery tester tells you what you need to do!!!

Purchased this device based on the great reviews. Did not disappoint. Easy to use car battery and alternator tester. Left side gives battery results and the right side gives alternator results. As mentioned the cables need to be longer to cover the distance between battery terminals. Also as noted it comes with no directions. Needs a cover sheet to explain the readings. Otherwise a great little diagnostic tool at a reasonable price that should be in every mechanics tool box.

Step 1 - connect to battery without vehicle running Step 2 - read battery status on left side of tester Step 3 - start vehicle and keep it running Step 4 - read alternator status on right side of tester

A good friend of mine was having car problems. He took his battery into a popular auto parts store. They tested his battery and said it would only charge up to 66% and suggested he purchase a new one plus a new alternator. I purchased this MOTOPOWER MP0514A device....fast delivery (ordered on a Monday, received it early the following Wednesday morning). I then loaned my friend my battery charger. His supposedly 'bad' battery charged up to 100%. He placed it back into his car.... attached this wonderful little tester that indicated the battery was good. He then started his car to test his alternator which, this same little tester indicated was faulty. He replaced the alternator and rechecked his system using this nice little tester that then indicated all was good. He's been driving around for almost a week now with no problems. This handy little inexpensive MOTOPOWER MP0514A tester saved my friend some big bucks. So easy to use....only 2 connections to the battery.....positive post and the negative post....absolutely no further adjustments of any kind. After testing the battery, all you need to do in order to test your alternator is to start your car. This tester does all the required analyzing for you. Very pleased....great little device!!

I've used this tester for two camping trips so far. I love the small size, clamp wire could be a little longer [as everyone says... manufacturer, get the hint ;) I purchased for the specific purpose of monitoring our marine/camper batteries while out dry camping. This did a great job, requires no batteries of its own, fits in my bucket buddy nicely, and so far seems to be accurate. I haven't used the other features yet, so I'll update as I do.

Try it and it works right out of the box. Try it on an Jeep wrangler, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Versa, Honda Accord and some solar power batteries. It's really small and compact. Had read some reviews and yes the wires are to short, wish they where longer but I can live with it.
