• DESIGN: This 3-Piece Impact Universal Joint set includes 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2-inch Drive U-Joints and features a Manganese Phosphate coating to resist corrosion and is laser etched for easy identification. Designed for use with all cordless, electric and pneumatic impact wrenches, the spring-loaded detent ball securely latches and the through-hole in the drive end locks securely onto the drive tang.
  • DURABLE CONSTRUCTION: ARES Impact Universal Joints feature unique spherical ball design that distributes torque loads evenly over a greater surface area, enabling an improved action range of motion for easier access to hard to reach areas and significantly enhanced strength and life over traditional swivel sockets. Made from high-strength, premium Chrome Moly steel, these universal joints meet and exceed ANSI/ASME standards.
  • MUST HAVE: Traditional universal joints can bind causing the pin to snap or fall out. Don’t get stranded during your break or suspension job with a busted universal socket. These are great for work on your car; no more knuckle cuts from tight spots!
  • RELIABLE | EFFECTIVE | EFFICIENT: Users trust ARES to be quality tools. You are backed by our Performance Assurance Limited Lifetime Warranty. The angle support is good, but was hoping it would have given a bit more. I used it to remove a bolt that was in a hard to reach location on my car. Strong a sturdy piece, doesn't break easily, which is a plus and I was able to get the job done.

Good quality wobble. Much less expensive than the tool truck. It's a single pin style with a spring inside to keep tension. Rolls around completely without catching or hitching. Been using it for about a month now, lots of front end work on an impact gun. Very happy with my purchase.

Holding up great so far. Replaced my Mac set since they were quite old, and beat from repeated impact use. These ones look better, and I actually like the lip as it makes taking them off easier.

To start off, I have only used the 1/2inch size, and it worked great. Used it to take apart the front suspension on my mustang, it helped greatly for the strutime. Overall the 1/2inch size feels strong and had no issues when using it for tightening and loosening nuts. It holds sockets on amazing and doesn't come off loosely, overall tight and strong. I'm very glad for this purchase.

A universal impact extension has a hard life. The 1/2 inch gets used the most often on a Milwaukee Fuel high torque impact gun. That gun is a beast and will quickly show you the quality of any sockets or extensions you use with it. The 1/2 inch extension has held up great to that gun. The 3/8 is used on a 3/8 Milwaukee impact and has also held up very well. That gun isn't anywhere near as violent as the 1/2 inch gun but it's no slacker. I wouldn't use the 3/8 and 1/4 inch sizes with reducing adapters if you have a powerful 1/2 inch impact gun. I wouldn't do that with snap on swivels either unless I had to. And I would use a face shield to protect me from the imminent shrapnel.

Good quality impact universal joint. It has worked well so far. I just wish it had a pin detent instead of a ball detent, I've had issues of it popping off of the socket or extension. Other than that is works very well

Used these exclusively when installing a full suspension on two Jeeps. Held up well to up to 160 ft lbs on the 1/2”, 100ftlbs on the 3/8 and 70ft lbs on the 1/4”. A little larger diameter than the other set I have but proved good in in all applications other than once when needing to fit through a tight heavy coil spring to tighten in the bump stop (non-typical application). Recommended for the price and quality.

looked high and low for a full set of universal ball joints (1/2, 3/8, and 1/4) and then found this set by Ares Tool. i haven't used them as impact sockets yet, but i love these joints as good swivels. the box based joints tend to lock up when trying to use them also especially with long extensions the box joints tend to flop over and make it difficult to use, THESE DO NOT have this issue being ball joints they only turn 30-45 degrees (estimated) from center. the 1/2 and 3/8 work great as i have already started using them as i'm helping rebuild and engine (for the reasons above). and on the 3/8 i have used about 2 feet of extensions to get some serious leverage and it did not even show signs of braking which is nice. (i have twisted a block joint before while it was cheap) the 1/4 i haven't used yet, but it seems to be build well and is small enough to fit in my DEWALT DW2190 Heavy Duty Medium Tough Case Things to improve: 1. the packaging, first time i ordered only received 2 of 3, with amazon's help i got a free replacement with free shipping (Thanks Live Chat). the replacement came with everything, but the plastic holding the sockets together was broken even though it was packaged nicely (Joints were fine) but was a little telling on how the first was received missing one. 2. the website tried to register (as if i brake them i would like to be able to get a replacement) website was broken, i am currently a few emails deep with someone from ares about the website and the few issues I have had and they seem to be fixing it as we go so it should be some what decent in the future. 3. warranty clarification asked about the warranty and they said to send them a picture of the problem and they will send a replacement, but would also like to know about the length of the warranty and it actually posted on their website somewhere. hoping it is a lifetime warranty as most places have those. ps. i did look at O'Reilly Auto Parts which did have a 1/4" (the hardest to find) but the other joints they had were goofy and turn in to extensions instead of swivel, then if you put a lot of force it will pop out and turn to a swivel, but i did not like it. also was more expensive then the set here.

I ordered these to take off my strut rod with my impact gun.. The other brand I had broke but these got the job done.

A little bit bulky, so you can't fit them everywhere, but they seem to work pretty good. The 1/2 drive socket was used multiple times with 1/2 drive air impact wrench without any problems, rest two are used with small M12 impact.
