You're either capable of taking apart the toilet and switching the hardware out or you aren't. It's really not up to the product as to IF this is a possibility for you. If you are capable and comfortable taking your toilet apart, this kit works well, is adjustable, and fits most toilets (mine included). I installed this about 8 months ago and it continues to function without issue. I was even able to adjust how much water each of my flushes is, which I really liked. Overall, great product. Just know, you're in for a ride if you've never done something like this before

My house is 10 years old and noticed that 2 of my 3 toilets started 'ghost flushing'. Apparently this is typical as the seal on the flapper begins to deteriorate. I decided to overhaul all 3 toilets with 3 of these kits. These are great kits that have very detailed instructions. If you follow the instructions I'm not sure how you could mess up the installation. The only tricky parts were taking off the main nut (2' diameter) on the tank bottom and removing the tank bolts. I used a 2.5" pipe wrench on the main nut and I used a screwdriver to knock off the build up so I could hold the old bolt in place while I removed the 1/2" nut from each side of the tank bottom. This kit doesn't come with a replacement pyramid rubber seal for the water feed line, but Home Depot carries them for $4 for an assortment of 8.

Fantastic Kit. I purchased four of these and they contain everything you need to completely overhaul your toilet. If something fails on your toilet do a complete overhaul. Once one thing fails you will soon have a cascade of failures. This kit replaces everything! Great piece of mind for a great price.

When the existing fill valve failed, water started leaking from the flush lever opening. That's when I realized the previous installer hadn't trimmed the overflow pipe. I decided to order this kit, some tools, and replace all the parts. Time spent: 1 hour watching a YouTube video. 1 hour to install while carefully reading the instructions. Works perfectly. FWIW the fill valve that failed was also a Fluidmaster--no hard feelings though, I realize these things don't last forever. One thing I really like is the ability to control the fill tube rate. In my case, slower is better. The tank fills faster and there is still enough water flow to fill the bowl. Clever.

Replaced all internals on an American Standard toilet going on 14 yrs. Original parts were disintegrating and the valve was becoming quite noisy. This kit includes everything except the porcelain and the seat. Now, toilet flushes like new. Only thing I didn’t like was the gasket connecting the tank to the toilet. It’s quite large, and now the tank is a bit wobbly. Will have to add a stabilizer to finish the job. All in all, a quality kit at a fair price. Much better than calling out the plumber!

I was a nervous wreck being I never replaced anything besides the seat before. To my joy I was stressed for nothing! The toilet started running two days ago so decided rather then call a plumber, ordered the parts... it took longer taking the old out .. Love the quiet now, no sounds of a running toilet. Going to buy another one for my second bathroom.

Awesome! I am a non-handy woman, but to save money, I have replaced two of the three innards of the toilets in my house on my own. I feel fairly adept at it at this point, but I'm still not the best. When the third of our toilets started dripping water, I needed to look for new innards to replace the old parts. I decided to spend a few more bucks on this one then on the standard one. I am so happy that I did. There was not any leaking, even minor, once I installed it. Usually, I have to tighten something, or adjust something, but this was so easy. Also, on this one, you can adjust the depth of the water in the tank, the depth of the water in the bowl, and the force of the flush. It is so wonderful, and when you figure the cost spread out over the years, it really is nothing. I will always buy this in the future.

Pretty easy to work with and install. I’ve used several of these on toilets from across the ages. My house was built in 1890, and renovated here and there throughout the years. I’ve got several bathrooms, and we have toilets that range from 1 - 50 years old. I’ve replaced parts in each of them with this kit. It’s not perfectly universal out of the box, but with a little creativity it works great.

I am not the handiest person, but this kit, combined with very helpful comments and reviews on this product, and let's not forget youtube, is great. The short of it all is that my toilet is old, had damage where the tank meets the bowl, and it's internal tank parts looks ancient (and were breaking down). Took about 6 hours of work, most of which was to remove the old bolts and other internal parts. I now have a perfectly functioning crapper. Have the right tools! A hacksaw, an assortment of pliers including channel locks and needle nose. A hammer helps depending on how stuck the old parts are. And I'd recommend medium to large flat head screw drivers. Side note, in addition to this kit I purchased a small pack of extra nuts, bolts and washers from the same company because my toilet has 3 bolts not two. I also purchased and replaced the flexible pipe leading from the tank to the wall.

Excellent kit. Toilet and tank gaskets require maintenance and replacement, period. They degrade over time and a leaky toilet can cause property damage or wasted water and higher bills... right? So, this is the solution. Replacing the whole kit and kaboodle with new rubber washers and a new tank gasket is a pain, but it’s worth the effort every 6-10 years, right? So, this went in as expected, good quality, but not over engineered and I feel a good bit safer that the toilets are working as they should and I won’t have any problems for years to come. Took.me an hour in total, but perhaps I’m slow. Worth the $20; if my opinion matters.
