Perfect Knife Buying Experience
Few times have a purchased a product where the quality so significantly exceeds expectations based on pricing. When I opened the Amazon box and saw the knife box inside I thought maybe someone made a mistake. I had only experienced a box like this one other time and it was a Porsche product. I then thought maybe this is all about the box and the knife will be something less. The knife was more spectacular than the box. Beautiful in style, appointments and craftsmanship; truly a thing of beauty. And then when I actually cut bread with it the experience was complete in that it cuts perfect slices effortlessly. This may sound like one of those plant reviews but this is actually the first time I have every felt the need to review a product because it is the first time I have been so impressed and pleased with the purchase.

I have tried many different knife brands over the past 13 years, and I am so incredibly impressed by the knives that DALSTRONG manufactures. Every detail is impeccable. The weight of the handle is heavy enough to produce perfect cutting, yet delicate enough to get fine julienne slices. The blade is thick and durable, yet fine and precise. It comes with a sheath to protect the blade, as well as protect against accidental cutting. In addition, each box comes with a book explaining how the blade was made, and how to properly do cutting with that particular knife. They make a wide range of kitchen knives... everything from massive chef knives, down to paring knives and steak knives, and everything in between. The company cares greatly about their product and 100% stands behind their product, which is great to see in this day and age. Its not too often that you see this any longer.

Dalstrong is the Best
Over the years, I've bought the best quality knives. They make life much easier. Dalstrong products are the most effective, strongest, sharpest and smoothest knives I've found. The company evidently pays enormous attention to the materials with which their knives are made, to their design and even to the quality of the packaging in which they arrive. I didn't believe the uniformly high ratings the knives got on Amazon. Now I do. I've also gotten one of their Shogun series knives -- made of a combination of stainless steel and carbon steel -- which has the sharpening potential of carbon steel but (I hope) doesn't discolor or stain if treated properly. Definitely as good or better than the best German and Japanese knives.

WOW!! What a GREAT knife!!
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He's in the culinary industry and has several knives of various brands that he has used many times over the 25 years, except a bread knife. He LOVES THIS KNIFE!! I'm a small woman with small hands. This knife is lightweight and very easy to use!! It's extremely sharp and slices bread like it's going through soft butter! We have even used this on a couple soft tomatoes to see how well it cuts. OMG!!!! I am not very great with cutting tomatoes, was able to cut very thin slices PERFECTLY!! I looked at my husband tonight and said, "you do realize I bought this more for me than you, right? haha" (He enjoys being in the kitchen much more than I and is the main cook in the household). After buying this one, he wants to see what other knives are out there to add to the collection!! Fabulous knife!!

Excellent quality, very high value for money
Comparable quality to other leading quality better known brand manufacturers. Exquisitely packaged, but pleased to see this was not just a distraction to hide a mediocre product, this is not the case. It works flawlessly & feels good in your hand, weighted nicely & comes with a handy blade protector if you don't have a knife block etc. Allows you to save more of your budget to purchase a premium chef's knife or paring knife that will see the majority of hard work in a busy kitchen...I don't slide enough bread to warrant a $100+ purchase but quite honestly this Dalstrong knife seems very high quality. Only owned a couple of weeks, so no comment on long term sharpness, although serrated blades traditionally do not require as frequent sharpening as regular knives. In summary I think this was a great purchase, very pleased.

I absolutely love this knife. I did an extensive investigation of bread knives available. I am a kitchen steward and am beginning to perform prep work. All the bread knives I borrowed were crap and dull. I have extensive carpal tunnel nerve damage and needed a knife I could easily work with. I loved this knife from the first slice. Some chefs scoffed at my purchasing a knife until one of the sous chefs began to slice bread. He actually shouted praises about how awesome the knife is and told the other chefs they should try it. I also have the Dalstrong Gladiator 10" chef knife and am anxious to use it. Appears I made a good choice with this brand. Going to buy many more types in this line.

The quality and workmanship of this knife are excellent. The packaging if the knife was way more than we expected. When we owned it, we felt like we were opening a piece of jewelry or work of art. And not disappointingly, this knife is beautiful It is well balanced, and sharp. I baked a loaf of artisan bread on my komado grill to test it out. The crust was very crispy coming off the grill, and this knife cut it with ease. After using bread knifes of poor quality for the last 16 years of our marriage, this knife is a welcome change. As a side note, we had been researching knifes for a while before purchasing, but we're undecided until we read a criticism of Dalstrongs chefs knife. The founder of the company responded to the criticism with incredible tact and restraint, simply providing education about the manufacturing process of the knife, and the companies philosophy of knife making. We would have purchased this knife on its own merit, but were so impressed by that response, that we wanted to own one of the knives. We highly recommend this bread knife, and certainly recommend doing business with Dalstrong!

Quality Knife from Dalstrong
I am more than satisfied with this bread knife. It has a good heft and cuts cleanly. It even cuts warm, just baked bread without mashing it. The knife comes snuggled in a classy well-made box and includes a sheath to protect the 10" blade - and fingers. Included in the box are little extras: a cleaning cloth, an instruction booklet, and a key chain with the Dalstrong logo. It is obvious that considerable thought and care has been given to the product and its presentation. This knife and all that comes with it bespeaks quality. Anyone looking for a good bread knife would be delighted with this Dalstrong Gladiator Series bread knife.

Exactly what I was looking for...
First let me say that I have NOT received any discounts, products, etc. in exchange for a favorable rating. Also, I am not a professional chef so what I write is for us home cooks. I bake and I needed a good bread knife. I did my research and settled on this DALSTRONG Gladiator Series knife. When I received it I was impressed with the weight and balance-very comfortable. The knife fit my hand like it was custom made for me. When I baked my bread this morning I finally had a chance to use it. I made 2 artisan style loaves-nice crisp chewy crust-this knife just glided through it. It took very little effort to get slices of bread from ultra thin to very thick. This knife is EVERYTHING that I was looking for. My sister is an amazing chef and I insisted that she try this knife. She too liked the feel and was pleased with the way that it cut the bread. She said that this was a very good fit for me. I give this knife 5 stars because it exceeded my needs in every way. DALSTRONG even emailed me to make sure that I received the knife and if I had any questions. Outstanding customer service. Would I recommend this knife to anyone? Without hesitation. Would I purchase from them again? I am looking for a new chefs knife...think I will go with DALSTRONG. One of the best purchases I have made at Amazon.

A Serious, High Quality Knife.
We bake and eat a lot of bread, and our old bread knife had served us well, but was more than ready for retirement. After a bit of research, we decided upon the Dalstrong Bread Knife as a replacement. This blade costs a bit more than other options, but we're never sorry to spend a bit more to get a product that we're really happy with. And we're really happy with this knife. I was at first a little surprised at its heft - it's a big bread knife - and wondered if its weight would make it harder to handle. But once I set the knife on the loaf and started the cut, the knife took over the cut, and any resistance I thought might occur disappeared as the bladed glided through a freshly baked loaf. It was impressive. Just to test the knife's precision I cut a slice that was less than 2 millimeters thick, evenly thick throughout the entire slice, with no tears and barely a crumb. This is a serious, high quality knife and if you have to cut your own bread, and want to see what a great bread knife performs like, we recommend this one.
