I have used various loppers over the years, but this one is my first anvil type lopper. I had no idea what I was missing. Cutting with this tool just seems easier and cleaner, especially for dry wood and thicker branches. I purchased a new bypass lopper at the same time I bought this anvil lopper, and although the bypass lopper works great, I found myself leaving the bypass lopper on the ground and using this anvil lopper 95% of the time. It's sturdy, solid, and strikes me as very well made.

There are so many different types and make loopers that I had a difficult time deciding which to purchase? I decided since I have about two acres planted in various trees, including fruit and citrus trees, that I would get the best, no matter the cost, but hopefully at a reasonable price. I looked at many of the top brands and read reviews and looked at many in stores, and even at the local farm supply store near my home. Though Corona is one of the top brands used in the orchards here, I decided to give these a try based on the great reviews. Wow, they were not wrong! From the moment I opened the package I could tell these were good quality and were going to be great use. They appear very well made and feel stout in my hands with the oval handles. I started my annual spring trimming in my small and orchard and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and smooth these cut through the branches up to 3", and even the old dried ones. I generally top my trees with a pole saw/cutters, and I use a chain saw for the ticker branches, but found myself using these for almost 95% of my trimming and cutting. Up on a ladder I was able to reach most the tree tops with the long reach of these loppers and I breezed through what was usually agonizingly slow work. These turned out far better than I expected, and if you are up in the air about which ones to get, you can't go wrong with these. Why would you really want to save a few dollars and get something of lesser quality? For just a few dollars more, you can get a great quality lopper that look like they will last a very long time!

Hubby added trimming some huge bushes to my to do list - these are the same bushes that after I finished trimming and hauling off the waste last time (2 years ago), I said never again; it's all you next time. Well since he was unwilling to entertain the idea of doing it himself, it was once again my chore. So I sought out the best pruners that I could find (Amazon reviewers delivered once again). What took me a crappy pruner and a saw to complete last time, took me nothing more than this beautiful lopper and in a fraction of the time. The hubby was unhappy that I had bought yet another tool; but I firmly believe in having the best tool for the job. If hubby ever tries these he will be impressed. This is the same dude who had me edging my gardens with a regular shovel when an edging tool actually exists. Love the edging tool too; which I also found on Amazon.

I bought these to trim the bamboo in our back yard. We have tried several other garden tools but it was always such a chore. These arrived quickly and when I used them for the first time, I had all of the bamboo trimmed and thinned in about 45 minutes! I couldn't believe it. I would highly recommend these. I also loved the fact that I received an email from Tabor Tools before the loppers arrived and it contained a fantastic guide on how to properly trim and prune trees. I would definitely purchase more tools made by Tabor.

"Tried it out, it works great, I knew it would after reading all the positive feedbacks....Cut limbs with ease, much better than I could have imagined....I started to buy another brand, but after reading the feedbacks on this one, it was a no brainer....Built like a tank....I have bought other brands in the past, they all broke, I think this one will last a lifetime... " Second review....My neighbor borrowed mine, he had to have one...I told him he could borrow mine....No, he had to have one for himself....Any negative reviews should be dismissed, this one will last a lifetime...Some reviewer said sent it back because of a hollow handle, handle will out last you....

Spectacular Tool, put it to the test right away with a huge pile of branches left over from Hurricane Irma, made quick work of all those branches, 2" plus thick, couldn't be happier. I was in between getting the Fiskers, Corona(very familiar with the corona, my BF has one and I've used it many times, and its great) and this Tabor Lopper, but I am so happy I went with my instincts and that 92% 5 Star review was hard to get past. It's a few bucks more but well worth the extra cost, truly a fantastic tool. Light Weight, Smooth Cutting, almost effortless.

I have 7 fruit trees. Pruning time is not something I look forward to. My previous bypass pruners had difficulty going through larger branches and often did not make clean cuts. This lopper is an animal, and cuts through very large branches relatively easy. It always makes clean cuts. I used it for all size branches, large and small, because it could handle everything and did a cleaner job. They seem to be very good quality. I worked them really hard and no signs of damage or wear so far.

I live in Florida and very recently have had damage from first a hurricane (right through my property) and then the extended freeze period that was experience by most of Central Florida. I had a lopper that had 14 inch handles and it was very limited in what type of material it could cut. I am 76 and not as strong or as agile as I used to be so I shopped Amazon and decided to purchase this anvil action lopper and I am very glad I did. I went around the property and in just a few sessions cleaned all the dead branches from the bushes and trees on my property. These loppers are very eashy to use and very effective for branches about 2" plus or minus a smidge. The handles are very long which is what gives it its cuttimg power so you do need enough space to spread the handles so the cutter head can expand to the necessary width. Other than that there is virtually no limit to what this precision made tool can cut. I think this is a very good value.

My previous loppers (of another brand) lasted 20 years but finally gave up the ghost so these were going to be tough shoes to fill. I put them to the test right away. I had topped out some mature crepe myrtle trees and had a lot of thick branches to cut. The GG12'S handled the task effortlessly. They are well constructed and heavy duty without being difficult to yield. These are well worth the purchase price and I recommend them to anyone.

First, a little background on my prior/previous purchases. In the last 15 years, I've been through just about every big box store brand loppers both bypass and anvil. Every bypass lopper I've owed has ended up with the same issue; try and cut something too thick and they turn just a little sideways and inevitably bend just enough to cause a gap between the blades rendering them useless. Anvil loppers in my opinion are WAY better in this regard as long as you don't mind the occasional crushed vs cleanly sliced limbs. They offer more power and generally seem to handle tough wood like Mesquite, Anaqua/Sandpaper Trees and Texas Ebony (rock-like) better. Even these however have had a serious issue with the head being able to handle more than the flimsy handles can take and I either break the handles or just give up and chainsaw the limb. Enter the Tabor Tool GG12. My 80+ yr old dad told me a while back when he came over to visit and gazed upon my graveyard of broken, bent or worn out loppers, "Son, you should have done it right the first time and bought you some Tabor tool loppers" Well, I'm a firm believer that with age comes wisdom. I was a little hesitant to spend the extra funds on these but looking over my death pit of dead loppers and figuring how much money I've spent over the years, I figured, maybe ole' dad has a point. So I plunged here on Amazon (because no local store sells them) and got them about a week ago. Well, this morning I got up and one of my Mesquite trees on my property had split. I thought, here's a really good chance to put the Tabor loppers to the test. If you're from Texas and you've ever dealt with Mesquite, you know, they can make a Stihl chainsaw cry. When I brought out my brand new loppers, my neighbor was like, "What are you gonna do with those silly things, get and estimate?" I just smirked and went to work. 30 minutes later, I had destroyed everything but the biggest parts of the mesquite trunk and it was (dare I say it) easy with these loppers. I am beyond impressed at not just how easy these things cut through 2-3 in mesquite branches but also how cleanly for an anvil cutter. Not only is the head strong and sharp and cuts like a hot knife through butter but it has the handles to match; something I've never found in an anvil cutter before. Before it was all said and done, the neighbor said, "OK, what the heck are those?" He looked and said, I'll be getting me a pair. Well done Tabor..Gonna have to replace more of my yard tools with your stuff.
