Case Saves The Day
I was stupid enough to place my tablet on the roof of my car. Lucky for me i placed it magnetic cover down on the roof. I drove from Vermont to Massachusetts and stoped for gas. There was my tablet with that magic magnetic cover, still sitting on the roof after 150 miles. I love my tablet case John

Surprisingly holds up and protects your kindle extremely well
This is a great case for your Kindle Fire. We recently upgraded our devices, and they don't come with any type of protective casing. I was hoping to find one similar to the last case I had, but they don't seem to be available anymore. I was a little hesitant seeing that the cover "folded" to be able to use it as a stand. Typically one would think that would make the case feel "cheap" and not hold up. I waited awhile before reviewing this to see how well it held up. Surprisingly, we have had no issues with it. Although a little pricey for what it is, it protects the kindle well and in the end, that makes it worth it. If you're looking for a tough cover to protect your reading device, consider this one. You won't regret it.

Great Case
I've always bought 3rd party cases because Amazon cases seemed to be over priced. When I pre ordered the fire hd8 I didn't see any other case so I went ahead and pre ordered this case. So glad I did it fits perfectly the case is light love the magnetic top of the case and the bottom is plastics which makes the case very strong and I believe will protect the kindle very happy with case worth every cent in the future I will always buy Amazon cases

Here's Help for the one star people.
I was I could talk to all those people who rated this one star. I had the same exact issues with it not standing up. I was very frustrated and wanted to send it back....until...I turned the thing around and voila it was perfect!!! Look at the nice photos on the posted reviews and you will see how you are doing it wrong. Those of us with previous fire tablets and the other types of covers will not want to hold this one correctly. We want to put the connected area on the bottom. Turn off around and it will be great!! Hope this helps someone like me who was just holding it wrong. Love this case !!!

Love it!!
I had the very first Kindle Fire, and just upgraded to the Kindle Fire HD 8. I was torn between getting the 10" or this one, but glad I got the 8". Its a perfect size for reading and web surfing and still fits in my purse. The screen has a different lay out than my older Kindle, but that's ok. The color is vibrant and pretty. Speakers are plenty loud. The camera works fine. I haven't actually printed a picture out so I can't comment on the quality of the pictures. I bought the Magenta color Kindle with the matching Magenta cover. I didn't like all the pop up adds on the lock screen, so I got those taken off. It costs a little extra, but to me, well worth it. I am very happy with my Kindle Fire HD 8. If you love the first Kindle Fire you will love this one.

I am a Cheapskate, But This Cover Is Worth The Price
While I think the case is a bit over-priced, I believe this is THE best case for the Kindle Fire. My first experience with this case was with my Fire 7. I bought a cheaper case and it was ok, but then I saw this case on a friend's Kindle 7 and bought one. Loved it! I sold the 7 to get the Fire 8 and when I went to order a case, this case was not yet available, so I bought a different one. When I saw this case became available for my new Kindle, I bought it without hesitation. Again...love it! I don't really prop up the Fire to watch movies, but the reason I am such is fan is because I fold the cover over on itself when I read. Other covers do not fold over straight and the Fire "slides" in my hand. On other covers I have had, the cover overlaps on the right side and is not comfortable to hold in one hand to read. This cover folds over with no flap/gap/wiggle and it stops just short of the right side so it is VERY comfortable to hold while reading.

Love This Cover!
It may be a bit more pricey than others, but I think Amazon knew best the kind of cover that would work for the Fire HD 8. It doesn't add that much weight to the tablet, which I like. It goes on and off very easily. The entire surface of the tablet is exposed without any of the edges covered, where it can collect dust over time. It fits securely and I like the open/on, close/off feature of this case. Offers excellent protection of the tablet. I don't understand the difficulty that other reviewers are having with the stand feature. It has a magnet that secures one corner of the flap to the back, helping it to stand horizontally or vertically. Less important, but rather nice, is that I was able to order the color that matches my tablet.

Grab one... You won't be sorry you did !
Hey Folks... You can't go wrong by ordering this case - made specifically for the Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet. It fits like a glove, gives superb cover / protection to the tablet, has a very convenient 'magnetic' function along the right edge which firmly secures the folding cover flap - whether you have it in the "closed" position... or, folded all the way 'round to the rear position ( as when reading e-books, email, etc. ). It also provides a non-slip texture allowing for easy, secure gripping of said device. I ordered mine the same time as I ordered my "Fire HD 8" - 32gb. Tablet"... and I recommend that you do the same - since it only makes sense that you protect your investment from scratches, dirt, dings, etc. I also purchased a 256 gb. - micro SD card in order to 'max. out' my memory capability... as I have well-over 1200 Kindle ebooks; and tons of music which I want to have access to whenever I don't have access to "the cloud"... or internet, period ( as when on camping/fishing/hunting/hiking trips ). I still have my 'old' 6" Fire HD device ( has only 8gb. built in... ), with no provision for additional SD cards... and the 'operating system' consumes most of that 8gigs! A real bummer, for sure. However, I wish that Amazon also made a cover for it; exactly like they do for the larger, more advanced, Tablets. I would grab one , in an instant.

I am loving this case!
First off, I use this with case folded back and haven't had any issues with the tablet turning off from it. From a previous review, it is a potential issue for some. I can only base my review on my experience, which has been excellent. I've always gone with cheaper third party cases, but decided to try the Amazon case this time. I am glad that I did. It is made specifically for the hd8, in precisely the same color as the tablet. It is well made and easy to keep clean. Many cases are bulky and this one is not. Its truly feels like an extension of the tablet. The magnetic cover holds it open with no flapping, and holds it closed securely. It folds easily for a stand both portrait and landscape modes, and is sturdy. Is it overpriced? Probably. However, I have no doubt this case will last the life of the tablet. Its solidly made, heavy duty. I hesitated at the price, but glad that I decided to try it.

Sorry for the long review. Love the fire HD 8
I wanted a tablet to watch Netflix/Amazon video/etc. so I didn't have to use my phone and kill the battery's Heath by constantly recharging it. Normally I'm one to spend more for a higher end product but I didn't see the point in spending hundreds for a tablet just to use for Netflix and casual web browsing so I didn't even bother looking at iPads. I ended up going with the 8 inch fire HD because of its price and features and I regret NOTHING. The battery lasts a while and the screen is big enough without it being a brick to carry around. I also got Amazons case for it so that I could prop it up(the case is also pretty legit, love that one as well). While the sound does get a little muffled by the case, it's nothing I can't deal with and if I do end up wanting a better sound I just pair it with my Bose soundlink mini and bam, problem solved. The camera is crap but hey, it's not why I bought it. The fire is fast enough that it opens applications swiftly. My only issue with it is that it does take a while to charge, an hour charge won't get you much. Might want to invest in an external battery from Anker or something. OVERALL 4.5/5 stars because it's an amazing, affordable tablet with its only flaws being the long charging time and crappy camera. Highly recommend!
