Works great for Comcast
Excellent. quick set-up device. We signed up for cable recently and declined the modem rental. We bought this so it would be here in time for installation. The Comcast tech came in this weekend and connected the coaxial cable to this modem/router, and we were good to go. The tech said this was a solid product to have. I attached my Amazon Fire to this modem with an ethernet cord, and got very quick speed for streaming my movies and shows. Easily received a wifi signal and went into system to change the default password - don't want someone hacking into my wi-fi! For now we are super happy with this device.

Great product, good savings vs leasing
I bought and installed this router with Comcast over four months ago. In summary: - Easy to install and easy to setup - Strong wifi signal - Works perfectly with Comcast - It's nice to have the option of easily configuring a guest network - I will pay for this in less and a year, when compared to leasing a modem from COMCAST RECOMENDATION: Use an app like wifi analyzer to check traffic on channels near to you. Your wifi speed will definitely improve if you choose a channel that isn't very crowded. The default channel for this router will most likely be the same on many routers near you. UPDATE TWO YEARS LATER: After the first year, wifi connection started posing problems. I have to reset it once in while to connect some devices.

How to hookup all instrument through Wi-Fi.
It works perfectly good. You have to wait till it lits two green lights, and then activate with the wireless radio to enable the box on the top in Basic setting and in Wireless Connection change your SSDI name and New Psssword do not click any other boxes on that page except the box of wireless radio and save and all your other devices will be connected. Reboot after saving for about half an hour by unplugging both coax cable and power from the modem for 10 sec and hook both of them back. If you have printer then just change the password your ISSD name will appear their and you are ready to go. It has HD due crystal clear pictures and sound, excellent purchase through Amazon. Working good on my internet phone. Please write me if you need any help to connect your modem. I think if you call them, it seems it is robot phone and you end up going no where except facing disappointment, request through support email that you want to chat online and then they will send you chat link and you will be able to chat, when you chat then request for tech support and then some one will call you, otherwise if you can get through calling good luck. Hoping this little information will help all my fellow for the hook up.

TP-Link is Tops
This replaced the Xfinity Gateway box so it will pay for itself in 8 months. For my PC the self activation didn't work but after a few minutes with a friendly Comcast rep using the number provided by the TP-Link setup guide, I had internet connection. Since this is also a router there is a spare ethernet port to link to my Google Wifi which works great too. I chose the TP-Link because I use several of their TL-SG1005D switch boxes to split the wired internet connection to other devices like other PC's, TV and Channel Master, and since these work great I wanted to optimize their functionality. No regret.

Fast speeds, easy setup, nice product design
My modem/router was getting pretty old and I still had the rental that came with service when I got TWC (now Spectrum). TP-Link has possibly the easiest interface for setup, great download speeds from my testing, actually shows as the network with strongest signal, and is a lightweight, aesthetically decent little piece of hardware. Definitely would recommend.

I havn't had any of these issues...
I bought this on 8/31/2017 for $80, so I've had it for almost a year now and I haven't had any issues... I'm relieved I don't have the problems all these negative reviews have. We don't have cable, only smart TV, and we can watch 2 TV's at the same time / ps4 live and TV at the same time and it's never been a problem. Sometimes after first turning on the tv it will take a couple tries for some apps to load properly, but once loaded there's no problem. We have xfinity internet. Never have had to restart the router or anything so I guess it's just luck of the draw with these things.

So I returned it and now I AM HAPPY! WITH MY TP-LINK N300
I owned the Motorola surfboard surfboard sbg6580, used it for the past 10 yrs, so when it started failing; naturally I upgraded to ARRIS SURFboard SBG6580-2 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Big mistake, thankfully I went back and looked through all of the reviews and found that after Motorola sold it to ARRIS it has been nothing but issues. So I returned it and now I AM HAPPY! WITH MY TP-LINK N300! THIS THING IS A MONSTER IN CONNECTIVITY IT WORKS 100% OF THE TIME. I USE SPECTRUM 60 Megs, ITS ALL I CAN AFFORD BUT THIS NEW MODEM, WIRELESS ROUTER ITS AWESOME! I HAVE A 1400SQ RANCH STYLE HOME AND MY WIRELESS IS FLAWLESS! I ALSO HAVE TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Adapter Kit AMD A VPN ROUTER! I AM SO HAPPY TO FINALLY HAVE THE CONNECTION THAT I ALWAYS WANTED!

Great Router, Easy SetUp, No calling Comcast.
I purchased this as my Xfinity modem/router has been giving me problems for nearly a year. It would work for months without incident, then I'd have days where my connection would drop. It was pretty random, so the few times I called Comcast, they'd reset the router and all would be well for a few weeks. Last week, it started dropping its signal every 10-15 minutes. Now that I work from home, I couldn't take it anymore. Rather than have a tech come out, a friend insisted it wasn't my internet connection but my router. She pointed me in the direction of this router as it's the same router she set up for her 62 year old mother and mom has had zero issues. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to make it work properly, I'm tech savvy in the respect that I can handle SEO an onlne marketing.. but technical issues that run the gamut of hooking things up are not my thing. I'm a plug and play kind of girl (Mac user).. so I'm very accustomed to plugging in things and I'm done. I was worried about the setup process. But, I opened the box, followed the one sheet instructions and BOOM I'm connected. Here's what I did: 1. Opened the box and connected the coax cable from my infinity router into the back of the TP Link Right out of the box - I appreciated how much smaller the unit was in comparison to the large and clunky Xfinity wifi/modem 2. Plugged the power cord in 3. Pressed the small button beneath the power cord to turn the router on. 4. Although my personal computer is a Macbook Air (no ethernet port). My work laptop is a Dell.. so I plugged the ethernet port into that. 5. The one sheet instructions led me to the TPLink site where I logged in (username: admin/password: admin) 6. I waited for all of the lights to light up. (They are not bright.. the lights are no brighter or intrusive than the light on my AppleTv) 7. When I unplugged my ethernet and was wireless, when I tried to go to a web page I was taken to the Xfinity setup page. 8. Entered my Xfinity username and password 9. Xfinity told me I was done and connected. Things got slightly tricky for me when I went back in to change my Wireless name and password. But I quickly realized it made more sense to change the wireless name and password while connected via the ethernet cable. That was it. I'm now surfing the internet wirelessly again with great speed. I live in the city with tons of routers around me and I'm experiencing no issues or slow downs. I was also able to connect my work laptop to the wireless network via a VPN with no issues. If I could set this thing up... anyone can! It took me about 20 minutes.

Perfect for Comcast Internet
I ordered Comcast Internet and was not going to pay the monthly rental fee for the modem router. This had a $10.00 off coupon, was Comcast approve and filled all the requirements that the Comcast rep gave me over the phone. Installer came last week and my Internet is up an running very quickly with no loss of signal...even during recent tornadoes in the area and heavy rains...Signal is strong in my 2 story townhouse of 1,100 sq ft anywhere I want to use my lap top. So far I am thrilled with the performance. Will update if my opinion changes.

The TP Link N300 was a great price for an all in one solution
I wanted to get rid of the Comcast box for a while now but also didn't want to spent a ton of money on a modem/router solution. The TP Link N300 was a great price for an all in one solution. It was very easy to connect and the quick guide ran me right through the setup. I had a little trouble but that was due to the fact that I was trying to set a static IP which was easy to do but Comcast will not allow it. Nor does the Comcast tech support help, since I asked five times if my issue was due to a static IP. I have been using this now for about three months and I have it set to a static DNS server of OpenDNS to block some content. I have had no problems so far and it seems I get a little faster speeds out the the N300 then I was from my Comcast router. For a basic all in one, this is the best solution I have found for the money. Great Deal.
