Good product for Av and sound technician.

Great product , a little bit difficult to realize when checking TS plugs and different plugs , Like trs to ts etc. Very good phantom check , and tone generator to check fixed cables. Would buy again.

Saves me a lot of trouble and the digital readout is excellent

Trying to answer some of the low star rating issues.

Before I purchased the CT200 and read all the reviews. Most of the complaints, I hope to answer here. 1) "Does not test 1/4 TS connectors". Well, it does show a short between the ring (3) and the sleeve (1). Yes, it does not give a green PASS light. So if the display shows a shot between 1 3 and 3 1 you should know that the TS cable is good since there is no ring (3). 2) "The manual is lacking". The written manual is hard to follow due to the multiple languages layout. I downloaded the PDF that is just in English and was very easy to follow. 3) "Manual does not mention to use the reset button". The manual does give several examples on how to test and states to press the reset button after inserting both ends. This needs to be done, for as you insert the last 1/4 plug the tip will connect with the sleeve and ring contacts in the jack creating a short. 4) "There is no explanation on what the display means". The manual does give examples and it does not take long to figure what the 33 on TRS and XLR cable mean it is the last connection tested, on a 5 pin MIDI cable the display will read 55, on J45 88, RCA 22, get the idea.... 5) "Phillips screw holding battery compartment door". This is a poor design. I do like to remove batteries or isolate the ends to prevent discharge when not in use. But I feel the product still earned 5 stars. It's well made and has worked as expected. Hope this help someone.

Good tool to have.

Once upon a time I was a recording studio engineer. Then I headed into a different field and became a video studio engineer, but then life got in the way and I moved into a totally different and unrelated field. But many years later and many side jobs (I kept doing sound and video on the side) later I am looking to go backwards in life and rekindle my never lost passion for music and film. This item is a great tool, that 35 yrs ago, would have saved me a lot of time. Back in the day I used a 1k tone generator to align tape heads on 24 track 2 inch machines, and a volt meter to test cables. With this device it’s plug and play. Super easy. If you work with these types of cables it is indispensable. Get one.

Much better than expected

Really nice product that is helpful in troubleshooting audio cable issues in the Studio, Stage or Home. Cost of the unit is a good value as well. The quality of the enclosure is better than expected and the unit functions well in testing various cables. It is much easier than using an ohmmeter, of which I have several. However, the manual is trash. Written in 15 different languages and even then, selecting out the English portion, it is hard to understand, even if you are an Engineer. I was able to figure out how the equipment works but some may have difficulty. Behringer should rewrite the manual and if they need to include many languages, should make separate small booklets for each so we can select the one that applies to us and throw away the rest. Maybe I will write a clear manual for this fine product to include troubleshooting cables, and sell it on Amazon for few dollars. Recommended Bobzt Engineer
