easy to use for many things!

This is a pretty nifty tool for a variety of applications, most of which relate to education and science. For me, I have a book of sewing patterns, and I used to have to work with a grid and then draw another on newspaper or something else to then make these into paper patterns. So glad that's over now. With this, I can project the page onto a wall, where I use painter's tape to secure the paper there, and then draw directly. For proper scale, just make sure the surface has a ruler, and the page in question has a little scale thing showing what a unit there amounts to on your wall. Example: 1/16 of an inch equals an inch. Draw a little 1/16 inch square on the page and have a little 1 inch square on the wall, and make sure it lines up correctly for the right proportion. There are other ways, but that's what worked for me. It worked fine with a projector I got on Vine a while back--no fuss! I'm also excited at the possibility of doing some reviews or tutorials using this, since the record feature is pretty easy to use, and you can get a detailed, up-close look at items. Very good tool for a number of applications!

Crystal clear image even when zooming, records and plays a/v with built in microphone, very intuitive easy controls

This is pretty awesome for teachers or other presenters. It allows you not only to show documents but also 3d models and you can interact with your materials as you present them. It comes with a nice carrying case and everything needed to get started, although you will probably want a good high capacity SD card if you want to record your lessons. (There's an easy one button record on this that I love - great for recording lessons then putting them into video format in case anyone needs review or for distance education.) It has a built in microphone so you don't need anything else to capture audio with your lessons. It also PLAYS videos should you want to record in advance. I've been using it with my Epson HD mobile projector and the image quality is exceptional. It is VERY clear. It has 12x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom, and when using the zoom, somehow the image manages to stay completely in focus. I have a powerful, but older clinical trinocular microscope, and it's just too dark to really see the detail I would like. It might work better with a microscope that is not so old. I have trouble with taking digital pictures too, so I think my problem is the microscope, combined with adding a length with the adapter. If you are going to use the microscope adapter, you might want to check a few different scopes to see which one gives the best-projected image. The record button is my favorite feature - it saves in the following formats: Still Image: JPG, BMP, PNG Video (Windows): AVI Video (Mac): MOV Other: PDF, EIT It does support several types of physical security if you need to permanently attach it to an AV cart for checkout. It has mounting holes and supports commonly used Kensington locks.

The zoom works flawlessly. Never blurs or softens. It's quite stunning. My favorite feature is the one-button record function -- video and audio. 1080p with HDMI connection. This is nice if you want to rehearse, make lessons available for future use, or upload to YouTube. Another nice feature is the ability to mark and annotate. We often work with historical or otherwise one-of-a-kind documents that shouldn't be altered, so this is a nice way to mark on a document without altering the original. Nice with paintings as well to draw attention to brushstrokes and other difficult -to-see details.
