Tasty!
We used to be nutella addicts, but when looking for a "healthier" alternative came across this spread. We love it! To us it tastes more earthy and not as sweet as nutella. Not sure if it is the cocoa or the nuts but either way the taste is really good. It reminds me of a dark chocolate candy bar with hazelnuts. The spread is a little runnier than nutella but we fined it is easier to spread. Good value as an add-on-item. If you are looking for an alternative give this a try!

LOVE it. Wouldn't trade it for Nutella if you paid me :)
I realize I may be in the minority here. A lot of people describe this as a "next best thing" sort of option, when you want Nutella, but are settling for a healthier option. I disagree, I like Nutiva's dark chocolate spread way better, full stop. I admit that my reasons for liking it are probably similar to the reasons others might not-- Nutiva is not as sweet (a plus in my book, since I find Nutella cloyingly sweet), and the dark chocolate taste is nice and intense (again, a plus for me, since I prefer the taste of 70%-80%-90% dark chocolate). I also always drain out the separated oil from the top when I first open a jar, and I find it improves both taste and texture. It makes for a less greasy/oily/runny/flaxy spread, and what remains is just nice, thick, creamy, and chocolatey. I mostly eat it on whole grain toast, and it's a fabulous treat that never disappoints.

Perfect Nutella Substitute
I stopped eating Nutella long before I went vegan so Nutiva tastes like an exact dupe to me. Like most vegan things, it isn’t going to taste exact if you have the “real” thing fresh in your mind, but for me it was perfect in taste and texture. I would buy it again.

Switched due to non dairy (vegan) diet, quite happy with it.
Switched from Nutella due to milk content. This has lower sugar but is still tasty, and we can have one jar in our house instead of two (one for vegans and one for non vegans). 7 year old likes it just as much as the Nutella, which is surprising considering how much less sugar it has, but he usually has it in his morning oatmeal with PB2 powder (trying to get him some extra calories in there but in a healthy way). It's also good on toast, but little guy will eat it on strawberries, ice cream, just about anything you let him put it on. Read a few reviews about runny or rancid taste, and I've never found that, and we've been through quite a few jars (it's a monthly subscription item for our house). Hoping it was a fluke that's been dealt with but we've never had those issues. I do find that sometimes there's a bit of oil that rises to the top, and if you don't stir it back in by the end of the jar it can become drier (as you're using the oil up unevenly). If it does this, just stir it back in and it'll be good the whole way through the jar. Really glad we switched, since our last brand wasn't organic, non GMO, or vegan.

Better than Nutella!!
I was iffy when I wanted to get this, because of the mixed reviews, but went ahead anyway and took a chance. I'm so glad I did. Got it for my vegan daughter for snacks and dipping fruit. It arrived fine and the expiration date far off.. opened and stirred and the texture is great! (Shown in pictures) Got the dark chocolate.. so we both got spoons and tried it. DELICIOUS!!!! Dark and rich...not too sweet but sweet, yes. Great texture...and it totally resembles Nutella to me, only better...not so cloyingly sweet. An adult flavor, I'd say. I taste hazelnut definitely.... really really good and am s glad I decided to try it. My daughter ate the whole jar in 3 days, she absolutely loved it...caught her dipping popcorn in it. lol VERY good and great price. I guess if I have to say anything negative..and its minor, a little aftertaste in my mouth shortly after eating it. ...and no, its not something I'd eat as a sandwich, as I occasionally ate Nutella...but great on fruit and in smoothies and apparently on popcorn...hmm... I'd try it on other things, but can't now that it's gone already. Will have to get some more. YUM!

actually tastes like dark chocolate and hazelnuts, yum!
This is delicious! I couldn't be more pleased that it actually tastes like dark chocolate and hazelnuts (as opposed to just sugar). It's always nice to see natural brands creating high-quality, organic versions of mainstream products. I love that this also has some benefits with the added chia and flaxseed oils. I'm not one to eat sugar and the dark chocolate is still very sweet to me, but it's delicious spread on gluten free toast, and especially pumpkin bread. If you're a sweet tooth, you might find this "bitter" or "too nutty" but it's the most perfect hint of sweetness and chocolate for me!

yum
tastes great if a little bland. I use it like a frosting on either paleo toast or just bread. I found lightly sprinkling my pink salt on the bread first, then spread, then lightly again with the salt, supper punches up the flavor. It's like the salted caramel thing, sounds questionable then you taste it and are like, wow, this is really good, how come it wasn't always made this way? type of thing. the negative aspect of this review, the bottle looks nice but is a total pain to get all the spread out without making a HUGE -sticks like glue to everything- MESS, and I wish the size was just a standard pint like all other nut butters.

Yum! Healthy Alternative to Namebrand
I love "Nutella," but I don't love the there's hydrogenated oil in it. Nutiva Dark Chocolate Hazelnut spread is a wonderful alternative with healthy ingredients! Granted, it doesn't spread as easily as the namebrand stuff, but I will happily take this tasty alternative with its healthier ingredients. I'm able to indulge & feel good about it. :-) I recommend giving Nutiva Hazelnut Spread a try, especially if you are trying to achieve a healthier diet. YUM!

Fantastic Nutella Alternative
I've never been a fan of Nutella, which I find too sweet. My spouse found this product on Amazon by searching for "dark chocolate Nutella" and we decided to give it a try. It's gloppier (closer to liquid) than Nutella, so you can only really get a relatively thin layer on bread, and if you try putting more on you risk drips. However, you don't need a thicker layer because the flavors are that intense. The taste was everything we had hoped for! Not too sweet at all, nice and chocolatey, with an undertone of hazelnut. The chia and flaxseed are undetectable but we appreciate the health benefits as well as the organic and GMO-free certification.

amazing for those who are vegan and miss nutella
amazing for those who are vegan and miss nutella, like almond butter since it is all natural it tends to get hard and thick so it makes it a bit difficult to put on toast, etc.if you love dark chocolate, youll love this. I used it to make chocolate strawberries
