The new kit of breadboards is much better than the old one.

On my first review I said the product didn't have a good quality because the terminal connection of the breadboard was not tight enough, so usually I had to check all connections and wire of the project. After this review, on middle of november/18, Elegoo contacted me to apologize about the quality of the product. They said "We've already designed a new breadboard which is much better then before". They sent me a new kit of the breadboards which is much better. The quality really changed and seems to be better than the first kit I bought. They contacted me one month after my first review and it shows me that Elegoo really care about your customers and your products.

Edit: A new set of three boards arrived subsequent to my initial order. These are straight, and deserve 5 stars as they work, exhibit no bowing and are exactly what I would have expected. I am quite happy to have the newer boards - just what I was looking for. Even the color is an improvement. Good customer service, in my view!

The new ones are fantastic

I originally bought these in August 2018 and they weren't great as they struggled to hold anything with small leads. Elgoo recently reached out to me and offered a replacement because they did a redesign, and let me tell you, they really nailed it. Everything from ICs to 1/4W resistors go in with ease but still have a nice firm fit where things aren't wobbling in and out of connectivity. I prefer these over my Adafruit breadboards now.

Edit: This is much better version than earlier boards! Upgraded Rating!!!

Edit:I have been given the chance to review these new version boards and they are significantly better quality than my original purchase. The boards are of a better material and lay very flat which was a huge problem in the early version. I would definitely recommend these new boards. And I'm certainly glad Elegoo listens and responds to their customers reviews. Good job Elegoo! Edit: I compared the new new version to my old version and it is amazing how much better the new are. Nothing has changed on the old version from the original review I have left below. I think it's fair to leave the old review intact as a comparison. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Works ok, but not really happy with the fact that they are not flat at all. The adhesive tape on the back can't even keep them completely flat. They were cheap though, so all in all, if you're pinching pennies they will get the job done.

Smaller than expected but actually good for this project

I don't remember if the dimensions are listed or not, but the boards are smaller than I thought they would be. But that is actually good for the project I needed them for. I didn't want to do any soldering so these boards were great.

Great for testing out little experiments

These are great for testing out ideas and becoming familiar with components. The breadboards are well constructed and hold the wires and other components securely. They have been very useful.

Quality has gone up

I originally purchased these solderless breadboards about 1 year ago. When I got them I was sorely disappointed. They were warped to the point where they couldn't be used. They were also a strange off-white, like they used substandard plastic or leftovers from a real production run. If I was Elegoo, I would've been ashamed to foist these things on the market. Seeing the latest reviews, I decided to give them another try. This time around I was very happy. They're a nice bright white and much stiffer plastic. And all 3 breadboards were completely flat. Connection points were a bit stiff at first but everything plugged in snugly.

Decent boards but great customer service

After I wrote my previous review the company reached out to me directly and offered to either refund my money or to send replacements as they had fixed a design flaw. I chose the latter as I needed a new set. Whatever they did, it fixed the previous issue with the bad traces. The new boards have had no issues. The one thing I will note is that the board is EXTREMELY tight. I thought I was bending components because I was putting too much force, but my daughter had the same issue. It was easily remedied by pushing a spare jumper in each one a few times to get the contacts to open. A shade tedious, but the boards great and I don't worry about things falling out! Previous review: I have a breadboard power supply that I use, which has a controlled voltage on one side and on the other side, it's whatever is coming into it. On most of my breadboards this works fine, however, I started getting feedback and it started yelling at me that it was getting voltage coming into it as well. Wouldn't recommend just due to that alone.

Elegoo Has Upped Their Game on These Breadboards, Bigly

In April 2017 I ordered a set of three of these and they were made of that slightly soft, slightly translucent plastic that warped. My oven reduced the warping but their use was still an underwhelming experience. Fast forward to February 2018 and I ordered three more. The breadboards I received were made of this hard, white, opaque plastic that and they weren't warped. I have been enjoying using them. In fact, I ordered twelve more because that is what I needed to complete my project and I wanted to see what I would get. I got the same good stuff. Keep up the good work, Elegoo!

First set wasn't good, but replacement I got turned out much better.

EDIT: The seller contacted me and sent me replacement breadboards (all 6 boards, all wires, plus an extra breadboard). I tested a few of the new breadboards, and they immediately felt much better: the wires go in much easier, and at the same time you can feel some friction for a good connection. Elegoo claims that this is their newer construction process - if true, this is quite a good deal. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by Elegoo's attitude, especially considering the price of this item. It's unfortunate that the first set of breadboards weren't very good, but all things considered, I think I it's still fair to change the rating from the original 2 stars to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I found those really difficult to use: the wires don't get in very easily, because the holes are not very well aligned or don't have the proper funnel shape. At the same time, I also noticed occasional poor connectivity: pushing on some wires or components makes the voltages/currents jump a bit.
