Wonderful gelatin plate, prints great

I wore out my Gelli Arts 12 x 14 plate after a couple of years of heavy use, so I decided to try Gel Press's plate. It's wonderful, prints great. I'll try to treat it better than my last one, and hopefully it will last for many years.

Great quality and thickness

Great quality and comes with its own storage. Very thick and durable. Works terrifically with the brayers I bought. I have been painting up a storm. The bigger size means I can do a whole A4 page in one go and I can still just used parts of it for smaller prints. Really good

Same quality as the other brand for a better price!

Same quality as Gelli brand for a better price! I have used Gelli plates for art workshops and have seen the prices keep going up even as the plates have gotten slimmer. I was glad to see that the manufacturer of the gel used in Gelli Plates came out with their own line. This product seems identical in function, case and even smell. Still pricey but much less than the Gelli ones. These are great fun for a day of art play. So much potential!

Just what I was hoping for

I did not want to buy a gel press. I'd read online how to make your own, so I did. But I found it was not very strong and tended to fall apart. So I bit the bullet and bought this one... and I love it. It is so much nicer to work with. It's the perfect size for making card backgrounds. It's easy to clean. And it's more durable than the one I made.

Fun Print Making

Great product for an afternoon of crafting! In terms of a crafting item, this is a little pricey, but my friends grandkids had a blast making prints with this, and it will last forever. I also have the 8X10 plate, but the 5X7 plate is big enough for almost anything you would want to print and it is easier to handle. We used Deli paper and heavier paper to make prints. The deli paper works great for making collages and adding the prints to other items. You can cut or tear around the print (or the part you want). We made cards and used an inexpensive composition book to decorate and make an art journal. We used inexpensive 2 oz. bottles of paint which worked fine and a brayer which you need to put the paint on the plate.

Reluctant buyer pleased as punch.

I was rather hoping that I didn't need another Gel Press plate, but I had a project that required an 11" strip that didn't look "patched". I bit the bullet and ordered this. Well, of course I love it. Mono printing is, as everyone who's tried it knows, addictive. The project that required this plate is one that assures that all the paper I print with it will leave my house of its own volition. Can't beat that with a brayer!

Why didn't I purchase this a long time ago

I am having a blast making background for cards with this gel plate. I use color bursts, alcohol inks, distress inks and distress oxide ink. Still learning what else I can do like a mirror image!

nifty little mixed media gadget (sturdy, easy to use)

It is very easy to use if you know how to use a gel plate... and if you don't... well it is very forgiving bahaha. It's a nifty little gadget that is great for mixed media artists because you can create these great bold abstract patterns and designs you may not naturally make on your own. You can use the papers to cut shapes, make background in jourbal or die cut for cards. Keep the clam shell to house your plate. Buy a brayer to layer the paint evenly, it helps you keep the amount of paint you use low too. A little goes a long way and experiment!! its so fun :) I love mine, I just bought a larger size. this 6x6 one is great for starters and for trying out techniques and seeing if you like it, and its a good price range if you arent sure

Unique mono press tool - you will be hooked

Tried alternative items to get same effect as other crafters/artists were sharing. None compare to a Gel Press. It is awesome. Follow the care directions and it is very durable. Love using it...just need to find more time to do so.

Great results with this large Gel Press Plate

Love the large plate for doing 12 x 12 and 8-1/2 x 14 prints. Very pleased with good product at a great price. Even ordered a second one for another crafty lady. Even like the brayered off sheets.
