I have DDD and have been going to a therapist after back surgery that uses a medical TENS unit. Almost done and wanted the convenience of having access to a TENS unit after therapy was done for lower back pain. I AM AMAZED with this unit. The power is great.. Just to three on bars for strength is the level therapy was using on me. The variety of modes a great also. Only used 2 of the modes in therapy but the others felt good also. The instructions say to make sure to charge every three month but I'm sure that depends on the amount of use. The length of time per use is exceptional also. The most therapy did was 20 minutes but this will go up to an hour if you absolutely have to have it that long (the 20 min. is perfect for me). The unit comes with plenty of pads, in a variety of sizes, that are reusable if cared for properly and you can get more pads with snap on convenience easily if you need them. You don't have to have the gel, just a few drops of water if they aren't sticky enough. LOVE IT!! Honestly, I am thoroughly pleased with the purchase and will be caring it with me from here on out. Comes with a nice caring bag and plenty of leads too.

I have back pain. I’m a nurse. There’s no such thing as light work and no way to sit still. This little thing.. bless it. I can apply the pads, get pain relief and still get sh*t done. Definitely recommend Tips: keep pads clean You can apply slightly damp fingers to help them stick to your skin but never immerse in water. Apply pads and electrodes BEFORE plugging to machine. Apply pads along the muscle where you want to treat. DO NOT CROSS THE SPINE. It’s probably not strong enough to actually cause any damage but if you can avoid sending an electrical signal across your spine then it’s probably a good idea. If pain is severe or lasts more than a few days, you should probably be checked by a doctor before continuing any home treatments.

I've had Sciatica pain for the past two weeks, and wasn't finding much relief. I have taken two weeks off running, and was barely walking. Standing was difficult, and anything more than a few hundered steps was leaving a shooting pain down my right leg and outside my knee. Last year I was out for three weeks, and saw a Rolfing specialist, who fixed the problem and some alignment issues. This Dr. told me that my problems this year are due to muscle imbalances, and fatigue, not alignment. He recommended stretching and Yoga. I am still working on the stretching, but haven't seen the relief I was hoping for. I did not think this was going to help, in fact I was sure it wasn't - but I have become a bit desparate. SO, I am happy to say I was wrong. I placed a pad set on my low back, and one set right on my right buttock and set it up on "Acupuncture" full strength. Not sure how it works, but it seems to block out the pain of standing, and I can walk a bit farther. I've only used it the past two days, but in those two days, I have a lot less pain. I plan to try to walk on a treadmill tonight, see if I can put together 20 minutes or so. Won't go back to running until I am sure the Sciatica has cleared up for the year. I think this TENS works by fatiguing and relaxing the piriformis muscle which has become tight, causing the nerve pain. I could be wrong on cause, but effect so far it just what I wanted. Pain subsiding, and diminishing

I have seriously horrible period cramps for 24 to 48 hours every single month -- like curl up in a ball, 'please leave me here to die' type pain. Even with all the OTC pain meds I could take, I was still having trouble being functional, especially at work. I recently started seeing ads for the start-up Livia and wondered if it might actually work. Then I read articles that said Livia is basically a fancy (and expensive) TENS unit and I decided to try a well-rated and more affordable option. I am so glad I did! This does not take all of the pain away (I'm not sure anything can) -- but it allows me to be functional and concentrate at work and it also allows me to reduce the amount of OTC pain meds I need (which is better for my body and stomach). I'd say this little device alone completely alleviates half of my pain, which is beyond amazing after years of no relief. I wish I'd know about it earlier! I also love how discrete it is -- I just tuck the unit in my pocket and the wire tucks in around my waistline. I've used it for six cycles now and it's been a life changer. I've just started using my second pair of electrode pads (the first set's stickiness finally gave out after around 100 hours of use over five cycles -- fine by me!). This is absolutely worth giving a chance if you have horrible cramps like I do!

We love this thing. We do jiu-jitsu as a family, and we are often nursing sore necks, shoulders, backs, etc ... Our chiropracter throws us on one of these machines during our visits, which cost hundreds of dollars. When I saw this one I figured, “It’s only $30, let’s give it a try.” Well, definitely worth it. The multiple strength settings allows you to adjust for different muscle sensitivities (biceps clench hard on setting 1, for eg, whereas the back requires a stronger setting). There are a lot of different massaging programs to try out, we all have our own favorite ones to use. And the unit is nice and small, can attach it and walk around the house to do chores or whatever if you like. It’s also fun. Attach it to your arms and try drinking some water, always good for a laugh. LOL. We use it as both a massager, and to “work out” our muscles. I doubt it does anything with respect to “getting huge,” but it’s fun to think that it does. The product comes with an offer for more free pads, and so far, it seems to be the limiting factor. Not sure yet how long each pad will last, but we take care of it as best we can it does come with a bunch of them. My mindset was to try it, and throw it out if it was junk. But we’re glad we bought it. I’m working out my 6 pack as I’m typing this. LOL.

I've had this tens unit now for a couple months and I'm very pleased with it. When I first saw it, I thought this tiny thing (about the size of an ipod) isn't going to do much of anything. Boy! Was I wrong! My doctor recommended I try one, it works kind of like over stimlating the nerves. The relief lasts, for me, as long as a pain pill does. Drug free :-) One word of warning..don't turn to full intensity too fast! It'll zap you good. I was afraid to order one of these for a long time because I have an artificial heart valve that's metal and my chest has lots of wire in it. My doctor said the voltage is so low, it wouldn't hurt anything. One last thing is I can't believe how long the battery in it lasts. I've used it probably around 20 times and only charged it when I first received it. Just for the record, no one has paid or even asked me for a product endorsement here.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I have chronic back pain after a car accident and was given a TENS unit by my doctor to help with the pain. I've moved twice since then and at some point it was lost. I asked my doctor about getting another one but my health insurance doesn't cover it and it's $1,200 to buy on my own. So I went to Amazon. I wasn't expecting much for something that costs a fraction of the cost of the other device I had but I was pleasantly surprised. When you first turn it on you'll notice 6 modes, one that shows hands, one that, terrifyingly, shows a needle, one that shows a stomach, one that shows a head, one with feet, and one with ears. The instructions aren't terribly detailed so I just stuck the pads on my back and played around til I found a setting that I liked. It happens to be the feet around 50% intensity. When you first turn it on you'll notice a 1 in a circle, press the center button to select from different options within that massage mode. Press the M button to choose a different mode, press T to increase the time, and the + and - buttons change the intensity. Press and hold the center button to lock the screen as it is so you don't accidentally press a button. The charge appears to last an incredibly long time, I used it for about 4 hours yesterday and it still hasn't come off of full. It is a rechargeable battery, a plus over my $1,200 unit that ran off of a 9v battery (who uses those anymore?). The unit comes with 4 sets of pads in 3 different sizes, an option that I absolutely love. So far I've recommended this to 3 coworker after they inquired about the cords coming from my back and they all sound interested, a non medicated way to help with pain is always helpful, especially with the current opioid crisis in the US. The box includes a charging cable and block (USB), two sets of electrode cords with 2 attachments, one electrode cord with 4 attachments, 2 small electrodes, 4 medium electrodes, and 2 large electrodes, as well as an electrode placement guide and a plastic piece to store the electrodes on (though I've just been putting them back on the plastic backing they come on).

I looked at several other products before purchasing this one. What motivated me to purchase this one was that it had over 1500 reviews and a great percentage of them were pretty positive. I received my product and it arrived damaged. I contacted the seller and they responded really quickly. Not only did they respond, they were pretty sympathetic and understanding. =) They sent me another unit and I received it about two days later. I turned it on and as other reviewers stated it was fully charged. So, I tried it and I was really happy with how powerful this little unit is. I get knots in my back quite often and I sometimes end up pulling a muscle in my lower back. So, to say this little guy is helpful is an understatement! It is very powerful and there are several modes that help my back. =) You can also set it to work for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or even 60 minutes. I personally keep it at 60. If you get knots or have still/sore muscles, then I recommend getting this Tens unit.

I would like to update my review. First of all, thank you Nursal for taking customer service seriously and to the next level. Primarily used by my wife, she is VERY SATISFIED with the flexibility of settings and the end result of muscle relaxation and an improved range of motion.

Mr Doctor suggested I give a TENS unit a try for shoulder pain related to neck problems. He told me to buy a cheap one off Amazon and, if it helped, I could buy a better unit. This little thing looks like an MP3 player and I had my doubts when i opened the box, but it definitely delivered. After about the third day of using this unit, my shoulder pain is GONE. As long as I use it for 30 minutes every other day, I have been able to cut my NSID usage to about 1/3 what it was. I'm not sure how it works, but it does....the muscles in my neck unknot and my neck/shoulder pain is gone. AS far as the Dr's original advice...I cannot imagine why I would need to buy anything better or with more features. This one does the job and a single charge last about 10 days.
