Great product

This thing is amazing. I use it every feed and when I'm in the bath. I get about 1-2oz each time. It's super sturdy and easy to clean. I'd highly reccomend it although it doesn't replace an electric pump. Just nice to have between pumps while feeding. But. 1.) it's easily kicked off by baby 2.) it collects pet hair like crazy 3.) you neeeeed the flower stopper 4.) measurements aren't accurate

It works PERFECT for unclogging pesky and hard to release clogged ducts.. fill it with warm water, grab a towel to catch the overflow, latch that baby on and watch the clog almost immediately release. My wife heard from friends when we announced our second child that she had to buy this. I jumped on amazon and saw it, immediately thinking “wth, it’s just milk catcher”. I hesitated to buy it, but I did. After returning home with our son my wife gave it a shot. What a result! She can capture extra let-down and/or switch sides when engorged to help with relief and production. Even with a top tier breast pump my wife chooses to use the Haakaa and as a result we have a reserve of breast milk in the free ONLY from using the Haakaa. Since our experience when someone tells me they have a child do I immediately order one for them. *** USE TIP *** Place the Haakaa over the nipple and in position PRIOR to compressing it. This provides a better and more accurate seal around the areola and stronger hold/suction.

Life changing

Struggled last week to even get 1/2 oz out of both sides per pump with my Medela electric or manual. I became so stressed would pump nothing and then leak all over when I fed baby. Someone recommended this to me. I just suction it on the side I'm not feeding baby with, and my good side drips out 1-2 oz per feed! No agony, no pain. I hold it there so milk doesn't spill, but once it's suctioned on, it does all the pumping for you! I'm so happy!

Supply Saver!

I don’t know if it is possible to get so emotional over a product, but the Haakaa pump is something that amazes me beyond words. I was able to continue nursing my daughter until 18 months because of it. When my daughter was 6 months old, I became pregnant. This drastically cut my supply. 3 months into this pregnancy I suffered a miscarriage and I was not allowed to nurse the day of the D&C, my supply dropped again. I was recommended this pump and was able to build back up my stash slowly enough to feed my daughter while I was at work and continue to nurse. It was amazing. I have since then recommended and purchased this pump for any of my friends who have become pregnant and planned on nursing in the past year of discovering it. Of the 4 people I got it for, 3 of them came back to me and told me it was the BEST thing ever for nursing. And those 3 mamas also recommended it to others as well. If you have problems nursing, with your supply, or just want to make collecting your milk less stressful- I can’t recommended a better product. Not only does this simple pump donthat; but at a such reasonable price there really is no harm in trying it!

Love it!

Simple and effective. I was using an electric pump but it was causing discomfort to my breasts and nipples. This one gives me the same results and allows for easier expression after I'm finished collecting. I use pump exclusively since my newborn cannot properly latch. This is a real "nipple" saver.

WOAH. This product is AMAZING. I so badly wish I had it after having my first child. For anyone who hates to pump and doesn't rely too heavily on a TON of stored milk, this is for you! I am a SAHM and want to build a bit of a freezer supply of milk up but absolutely hate to pump...this is the PERFECT way to collect milk without having to go through the whole pump fiasco. This product collects milk from your letdown and naturally pulls a bit more milk through suction. Make sure you watch a video of how to use BEFORE trying it (**hint- fold down the neck before placing to get proper suction). I really wish I had this in the very early days after having my little one...it would be great for engorgement etc. I will be buying this for any baby shower I go to from now on as I think it is completely genius. Super simple to use, NO hassle and great for building a supply!!! I use it strictly when nursing my son on whichever side he is not nursing on. I am 5 weeks pp and this is doing a great job of collecting letdown from the other side while nursing. AMAZING.

I WISH someone had suggested that I bought this when we first started breastfeeding, but no one did. I am not buying them for friends who I know want to try to breastfeed. I find pumping hard when I try to do it while baby is awake and also found losing my let down frustrating. I saw a mom blogger post about this bad boy and decided to google and finally decided to buy it. It. Is. Awesome! First, it’s easy to use. Just stick it onto the boob you’re not feeding from. Second, it literally catches your let down which is AMAZING. I have been able to get all the breastmilk I need for mixing with beginner foods simply from using this. Third, it is so easy. My husband has been telling everyone about this “cool contraption” we got for catching milk, lol. It’s teally just super duper cool. I will say that the measurements may be a smidge off, but honestly I say that because I pour these into Kiinde bags and I know some people say the measurements on those are off. So I have no idea. It’s always around where it’s saying give or take a few ounces (no more than 5). I will say buy the stopper for it. It’s not a complete seal but it has saved my milk a few times when I’ve knocked this over.

Great for catching letdown

I use this to catch milk that leaks from the opposite breast that I’m nursing with. It worked amazingly at first but I’ve noticed that it doesn’t “stick” as well as it used to. Make sure you mix the milk you collect in the Haakaa with regular pumped milk so you’re not feeding your baby too much foremilk. It can upset baby’s tummy (gas) and cause foamy green poop.

Fold back first

I really hated this when I first got it ... I was about to return it because it hurt me and felt like it was ripping my nipple off. A friend of mine recommended I watch a few YouTube videos on how to put it on . I watched like 2 or 3 and gave it another try... you have to fold the lip of the haaka back first then place breast inside then let it fold back up. I wasn’t folding first , I was squeezing and placing directly on my breast. And now my haaka journey complete . It’s so easy and not painful . So happy a friend told me to look at the videos before returning it . Hope this helps someone else !!
