Perfect for my needs!

I needed more light at my work bench for precision cutting of small wood pieces. I do marquetry and staying "on the line" is important. Better lighting made all the difference for me. The spring clamp mount is very effective and allows me to move it wherever I need more light. The light level is adjustable to three levels and is diffused so shadows are minimal. It's a white light, very natural and no flickering. The control switch is on the back of the light. Simply touch the marked spot and the goes on. Next two taps get a little brighter. One more tap turns it off. Just remember when adjusting where to shine the light, if you touch the back, the light level will change. ( It's actually easy to adapt to.) I was wary when ordering cuz this one was so inexpensive compared to others offered here, but the light turned out to be perfect for me.

Versatile daylight temperature lamp of medium brightness

A very nice quality lamp that while not particularly bright, is sufficient to provide good illumination of the immediate work area surrounding my keyboard and desktop. I suspect I'd favor the brighter 11W version with adjustable color temperature but went with this 9W version to save a few dollars, given I already have a brighter desk lamp available should I need it. The clamp is indeed strong enough to support the light panel with virtually any placement, and is a great alternative to the larger "engineers' light" with a screw-down clamp. .Color temperature is unimportant for me as long as a daylight temperature lamp is available, which is another reason I chose this lamp.

Works great if you have a place to clip it.

I received the newer updated unit. There is a sensor on top of the light. Tap to turn on. Tap to change brightness. Touch for 2 seconds to turn off. Works great. Nice, bright and evenly dispersed light. I use it over my benchtop metal lathe and leave it set on high (it remembers the last setting when you turn it on). The dimming feature would be useful if it was being used as a reading light. It's a clip light, so you need to have something to clip it to where you want to use it. Only have a week of use on it, so can't comment on durability but the construction seems good.

I like this lamp so much I ordered the desktop version. First, concerns about brightness were totally dispensed when I first turned it on. The brightest setting is enough to do surgery by. The touch control works flawlessly and perhaps I won't have to deal with switch failure down the road. Amazingly the clamp is metal, not plastic. Measured watt usage and got 2-5-10 watts with each of the three settings. Quality of materials and build are self evident. The neck will not rotate much, but bends nicely. The only improvement might be to make the head itself able to rotate from the neck for superior positioning. The diffuser and color temperature are spot on. Excellent product.

Well Engineered, Flexible, and Stable

I received mine yesterday, and have already ordered a second one. Its gooseneck seems both flexible and firm, and the wide lens on the light means that it will illuminate a fairly broad workspace. My wife finds that hers is excellent for her fine needlepoint work, and I will set mine up clipped to the edge of my desk, next to my laptop keyboard. It will light both sides of my laptop work area, making it unnecessary for me to burn the four overhead "can" lights in my study ceiling just so I can use my computer. As an LED light, it only sips power. My only complaint is that its head does not rotate around the axis of the end of the gooseneck, but I have still been able to adjust the gooseneck itself to throw the light where I want it. I measured its clip as having a maximum available jaw opening of just over 1.5 inches.

My new Halo 9W-C is a clamp style LED light which is currently being used to light up the canvas I am painting in my studio. I love the even and balanced lighting and the coverage it provides. I find it adequate for a fairly large canvas of 28” x 36”. My studio is in a small room with limited natural light and I often find myself painting well into late evening hours. With the new lamp, I no longer have to stop painting due to poor lighting. The Trond Halo 9W-C simulates daytime lighting with no flicker. It offers three levels of brightness. I use the brightest setting to even out shadows and reflections even during daytime. It makes it easier to see details or do close-up work - colors are natural and vivid. Being able to attach this light on top of the easel is a huge advantage. In this position, it is out of the way and I am never standing in front of the light source. I love the fact that the 9W-C uses so little electricity while providing ample brightness without getting too hot after long periods of use. This is in contrast to what I have been using. A 500W Halogen with bands of uneven brightness that is so hot that it actually warms up the room! In addition to excellent products, Trond has an impressive customer service. I am very pleased with both. I highly recommend this light for fellow artists, hobbyists and avid readers.

The Strongest Clip Light I've Ever Owned.

This light is very bright. It's way way better than any other small reading light you'll find, and while it looks super huge your eyes will thank you for having steady non flicking light. 6000 Lumens of power is close to sunlight, and this is great if you're painting or doing art on the fly. It will she'd accurate light onto the project so you can see colors accurately. It's also great for spot cleaning or painting. Anywhere you need bright consistent light. This is not a small light, it is heavy and the clip is industrial. It's for clipping onto furniture and maybe even shelving, but you'll find a way to utilize it. It also works good as a photography light for items, and I'm going to start taking photos under it for Amazon Reviews. I was reluctant to try this as I haven't heard anything about these lamps before, but I was not disappointed. If they ever make a stronger one I'll buy that too. I would recommend this product completely!

I love this lamp

I love this lamp! I learned about it from a fellow jigsaw puzzling aficionado. It provides MUCH better light than most overhead or ambient lighting while working on a puzzle. It is incredibly flexible to use with the adjustable arm and the multiple light intensity settings, allowing you to avoid glare and focus the light on the area which you are working on. Cool factor is that the light is turned on/off and through the various light levels with the touch of a finger. The clamp keeps it in place yet, but can be moved to just the right place -- you are just limited in the thickness of the surface you can clamp it on to. My table was about 1" thick and it was fine -- probably a max of 1.5", but I have not tested that nor reviewed the specs to determine the actual max. The packaging was custom made for the lamp and very efficient. I store the lamp in the box it came in when I am not using it -- it was easy to fit it back into the custom foam protection. All in all, I am extremely pleased.

The Perfect Bedside Lamp

This light is perfect for reading in bed – three light settings, accessible with a tap – send a bright, white focused light on my book while allowing my husband to sleep in relative darkness beside me. The extra long neck makes it easy to position no matter where I have it clamped. Words can't express how happy I am with this purchase!

Perfect for just about any area

Excellent lamp for just about anything. I mounted this to a computer dual monitor bracket and use it when back-lighting isn't enough. The Trond halo 9w even has felt wrap around the neck of the clamp to prevent scratching the surface. I generally like a dimly lit area around while on the computer, but often times need more light. A flash light doesn't cut it. The goose-neck is nice and rigid without being extremely difficult to position. The clamp is strong but not vise-grip strong so it's wise to use two hands if you need to snake the goose-neck into several bends. This shouldn't be a problem if you plan to position it and forget it. I have mine coming up from the bracket and over my secondary monitor transitioning to the horizontal over to my main monitor with the lamp just slightly above the monitors bezel and it stay put! No sagging over time and when turned on the light splashes the full width of my 80" desk. I wouldn't get less than 9w LED. To relate to a LED Vs Incandescent light. The Trond's three settings are approx like a: 40w, 75w and 100+w incandescent bulb but is much cleaner (purer) light. I was amazed how pure the light was. The drawback to this is I noticed dust where I thought there was none. I was so impressed with this lamp and how pure and clean the light is I'm planning on buying two more. And the quality to price ratio in my opinion is 100:1.
