Okay. First thing. DO NOT DUMP ALL OF THEM OUT AT ONCE As amazing as these are, I regret dumping them all out at once. 1) They don't dehydrate quickly. (It took about 3 months for them to dehydrate, and 1 rainy day ruined that...) 2) THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM Getting rid of them took two 7 gallon buckets to move them all outside, and each bucket must have weighed 30 pounds each. Trust me, these are AMAZINGLY fun, I would totally buy again for the fun I was able to have. But these are a nuisance to dispose of. Should you buy them? YES YES YES. Should you dump them all at at once? NO NO AND HELL NO. These are the definition of "Best used in moderation".

I bought these for my 2 & 5 year olds. But turns out we ALL love them! They will entertain my 2, 5, 7 & 8 year old for an hour! Heck, they'll entertain me almost that long!! I hydrated about 1/4 cup and gave the kids few containers to play with them in. Then we dumped the whole package in the bathtub. BEST. BATH. EVER. 2 packages would have been better, for the bathtub. But everyone still agreed it was awesome and I'm now the best mom in the universe. That should last till at least tomorrow morning ;). I can't fully describe how cool these are in person. 1,000x better than the pictures. The various colors and translucentcies make them really amazing in water or just in a bucket without excess water. You've just gotta try some! It's a great stress reliever too! They take a few days to dehydrate... that's good, unless you have a bathtub full. Hahaha. Maybe I should have thought this thru a bit more ;) My only disappointments are that many of the bead break when they hydrate. But maybe only 50-100 and in a batch of 20,000, that's not enough to deduct a star. And I also wish they would glow under black light - I really thought at least the solid white ones would but they don't. I didn't buy them for that purpose and no where did I read that they would, so I'm not disappointed enough to take a star off :). Just sharing in case someone else has a similar hope

These things are freaking awesome! Really, you could just stop reading right here and just get them. These things are SO much fun. I used these for my daughter's birthday party a couple of months ago. I had this little bitty bag (it seems little when you see the bag) with these teeny little dots in it. The package says you want to use a lot of water, so I got about a 20 gallon tub and poured them in and filled it about half full of water thinking there was no way it would need that much. How wrong I was. When we got up the next morning, the orbs had expanded to fill half the tub and use most of the water I had poured in. When people came over for the birthday party, my daughter showed them and they started feeling them and running their arms and hands thru. Immediately, the whole plans for the party were basically thrown out the window. A couple of the kids dashed in to put bathing suits on and came out and took turns hopping in the tub sitting in the orbeez. I got out the water hose and sprinkler to add to the fun, and for the next 3 hours, that was all they did. These were all preteen kids too. They had an absolute blast with them. I was amazed at how big they got and how much fun they were. They expanded to almost 1/2 inch each. They fit into a piece of 1/2 inch PVC pipe enough to use as kind of an orbeez blow gun, but it wasn't tight enough of a fit for them to go very far. I totally recommend these as just something cool and fun for the kids. When you are done, just dump them all over the yard. They are safe and non-toxic and over a few weeks will totally break down and disappear into the grass and soil. Or, I put some in the potted plants I have and they lasted a couple of months, and helped hold in the moisture when I watered the plants. Now I want to get several bags and fill up a small kids pool with them for even more fun!

Don't be fooled by the package size - this is a ton of beads, when hydrated. I bought them for my 5-year-old grand-daughter, who spotted them on a commercial. I poured a small amount into a cup and added water. Then I had to move them to a larger plastic bowl, and again added water. Long story short, I ended up with a gallon-size container of squishy, bouncy water beads and didn't make a dent in the amount of beads that came in the package. My grand-daughter has now played with them regularly for 3 days now - scooping them into another container with a strainer and assorted spoons, squishing them wit her hands, and bouncing them individually. They just feel damp - not sticky, not slimy - really, not messy at all.

These water beads are tons of fun! I haven't bought other brands so I can't compare, but here's some info about these ones: You get 8oz of the water beads which will make you a ton! Following the directions, I put two tablespoons of the water beads plus 3 quarts of water in an 8inx10in plastic Tupperware container and left it overnight. The beads had enlarged to an average marble size by the next day and the whole container was full! You do need to leave these for at least 8 hours to soak. A couple days after sitting in the airtight container they were still full and fun to play with. They had become a little slimy, but a quick rinse through water fixed that. The only downside is they bounce easily and if spilled scatter instantly all over. They hold up okay unless you squeeze them and then they break fairly easily. I kind of wonder if of we hadn't added as much water, so the beads would be smaller, if they would break less easily. The colors aren't incredibly vibrant but they are still obviously different colors and a fun variety. All in all, glad we got them and have had lots of fun so far!

We love water beads. My daughter can play with them for hours and we are always finding fun Pinterest-inspired activities to do with them. We turn it into science lessons about hydration. We'll freeze them just to compare the beads. Something about the little jelly beads inspires my kiddo to come up with all kinds of ways to make use of them. Plus, they're just fun to play with. I also like that I can let them dry out and reuse them later. I have purchased smaller packets from various Amazon sellers in the past and been satisfied. Recently, I purchased one of those water bead foot spas for my little one but the store didn't sell the beads that went with it. I couldn't find any of the old packages that I had. The only store near me that sold water beads was Michael's. I paid much more than I had ever paid on Amazon. That would have been ok, but 1.) the beads turned out to be a different size than these and were just a little too big to work well in the foot spa and 2.) they dyed our hands and feet purple. They were designed for floral use, but still... purple was everywhere!!! When I got on Amazon to order one of the packets I had purchased in the past, I saw these. The price was too good to ignore on a giant bag. I still had purple hands at the time so I was nervous about wasting more money (and time) on a brand I hadn't used. I am so glad I did though. These work perfect... no color rubbed off... they are just like the ones we've loved in the past, but we got a lot more for the same price. These are a super value!

There's no reason I'd ever pay more for Orbeez. These Sooper Beads do not disappoint! They are so much fun to watch grow to size and even more fun to play with! I can sit with them for hrs. This is a true multi-color pack. There are opaque black & white beads, along with clear and a multitude of translucent colors. They're firm, slick, and bouncy and do not break unless you intentionally bust or tear them. We're still on out first container after about a wk. I rinse em frequently and could fill 10 more before I run out of beads. For 6 bucks, that's quite a bargain! Some of the best money I ever spent on Amazon, bar none. Don't buy a waterbeads spa; just buy this one li'l package and a kiddie pool (or some large Tupperware) for days and days of summer fun! One caveat: don't fill a bathtub or give kids dry beads. Avoid getting these into your plumbing at all costs! You can thank me later 😉

We just tried these out yesterday, and so far we love them! I put about a teaspoon of dry beads in a bowl with two cups of water, and 4 hours later they were the perfect size & squishiness (think blueberries) for my almost 2 year old to get a kick out of. I sat with him & we played with the water beads for almost an hour, transferring them into cups, scooping them with a little strainer, even bouncing them in an even bigger bowl. He was having so much fun! The beads held up extremely well to our play, maybe 4 out of the 80 or so broke. I will say though- if you see a broken one, scoop it out, because even though the whole beads don't break easily, once one does break it pretty much falls apart. Still not a big deal, you'll just have tiny gel shreds in with the whole beads. These beads are very cool, and I like that they are non toxic and not slimy at all. Age-wise, I'd say 4 & up would probably be fine playing on their own, but any younger should be supervised just to make sure the beads don't end up becoming a snack! And you can't beat the price, for a little over five bucks you get a bag that could last you six months, at least!

These breads are really fun for any kid, but if your kids are really into tactile things, they will love this. You only need to use a little bit of the beads in a mixing bowl, cover them with water and watch them expand. They are slippery, but not a slimy mess. My kids are 14 and 16 and loved them. Little kids would have a blast too. You can cover them up to store them and add more water if they seem to start shrinking. This pack of beads should last you many, many bowls full.
